-19°F and it will only get to 10 above. Wind NW 11 mph. 40% chance of flurries.

I got everything scraped down to the ice here yesterday.

Today is a run to town, I need more maple syrup and unfortunately I will have to buy the watered down crap they sell in the stores. It is so thin you could read a newspaper through it. The good thing is that I still have a very little bit of the 'good stuff' so I will blend the two and come away with something at least palatable. Tomorrow is Shrove Tuesday and I want my pancakes/flapjacks.

Other than the town run I've got nothing to do, too cold. I will stay inside and feed the stove.

Have a good day all

Drinking first cup of coffee. 5° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 15° with cloudy skies. Got my projects in shop completed. Then came in a relaxed rest of day. Cleaning lady comes this morning. Then wife has a doctor appointment.

Had 2 Sandhill cranes out behind our barns. Honking back and forth like they were mating. Their honk sure does carry and echo off buildings.

Jay, hope your knee stats to get better. Maybe you can sell the bags next Halloween.

Don, welcome back. Hope cruise went well.

RNG, glad leak is finally getting under control. Now you can start working on interior.

Sad about storms in the south. Prayers for them.

I am about to change from Folgers to Dunkin Donut coffee when current container is empty. Wife brought a couple of Long John donuts and some of their coffee home the other day. Was good tasting and smooth. Cannot drink the stuff sold at most coffee shops.

LS, hope they find a way to fix your knee.

Drew, keep the garden pictures coming. Hope cutting back on caffeine helps your ear.

Good Morning All.

Looking never heard it called Shrove Tuesday before. Here in metro Detroit we had a large Polish community. Hamtramck, MI. Fat Tuesday is celebrated as Paczki Tuesday.

36 going to 46. Rain stopped. Nice, but cold week ahead.

David, sorry about the loss of your BIL.

Randy...heard a nice rendition of the National Anthem yesterday...about 25 little girls sang it (well) to open the Orioles pre-season game against Detroit yesterday.

Don, good to hear from you...I suspected you were out on another cruise, or over in the new Yanmar storage building making a few adjustments.

My friend who owns a coffee business is sending me some Peet's decaf. Food Lion decaf is awful and local stores are now carrying way more k cups than regular, so not much to choose from.

Drew, is it "Water Processed" decaf? My wife is always looking for some for her evening coffee.

RichB1 we use the Kuerig but use EZ cup filters 2.0 filters with filter holder (Amazon) - that makes it so our coffee selection is not limited by what is available in the pods.

Good morning, Windy and cold 27 ˚F.

WNGSPRD, garage modifications are on hold till I get "the call!".

Horrible news about the tornadic weather and all the deaths. Prayers.

Wng, while I would like to come help pick coffee beans, just for the trip, I would have to make sure Sodamo planted the decaf hybrid trees.... :)

Also, Wng And RNG having some trans-continental decompression talk got me to thinking. Decompression is a good word, that can be used alongside perspective. We all need some sort of pressure relief at times.

Don, I know what it's like to get behind on posts. Once you do, you get in a hole, seeing post you'd like to reply to but not enough time at the moment...

EEEs cold down here...

Hope that all of you have a great day.

Good morning all,

A crisp 1 degree this morning and clear skies, well atleast starry skies it's still dark.

My son had a home built and it's finally done. I have been storing all his crap for years now. Today it's all going to his new home. My 18' enclosed snowmobile trailer is full and I'll be glad to get rid of it.:drink:

Prayers for those in need.

Good Morning!!!! 48F @ 4:30AM. Overcast. High near 55F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.

Made up a new batch of spaghetti and meatballs yesterday in the InstantPot/slow cooker, and now the house smells like an Italian restaurant. Best air freshener ever!

The rain stopped for a little while yesterday afternoon, so I got another cart load of wood cut and another tank of gas run through the chainsaw. A new chain sure makes a difference! Started raining again just as I finished stacking, but I was ready to quit anyway. One more round and I think I'll get through the found wood I gathered along the road into this place; looks to be something close to a couple of cords. With a little luck, that'll be today.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a nice start!

RichB1 we use the Kuerig but use EZ cup filters 2.0 filters with filter holder (Amazon) - that makes it so our coffee selection is not limited by what is available in the pods.

I just started using the same EZ cup filters about a month ago. But I'm still just using Folgers Classic Roast coffee.

It seems to me, without having any reliable statistics, that we had a very mild February and hopes for an early Spring. Lots of white blossoms on trees in the area. And now, this morning, it's 20 degrees with a 16 to 22 mph north breeze, going for a high temperature of 31 today and back down to 18 tonight.:(

My plans for today are to just stay in and stay warm. Last night, I started soaking a pound of Cranberry Beans in water and this morning I put them into the crockpot along with one ham steak that I cubed, and one large chopped onion, and a little salt and pepper. Now, all I'll have to do is make the cornbread to go with the beans. Being a bit lazy, I've long used Jiffy Corn Muffin mix, but it just never was exactly what I wanted. After some experimenting, I think I finally got it right. Their recipe calls for 1/3 cup of milk and one egg. And now I add one heaped tablespoon of flour and a second egg. Their recipe had a tendency to be a bit dry and crumbly; OK to be crumbled up in a bowl of soup or beans, but not so good to cut open and butter to eat along with other things.
