I've never been ice fishing. What do you do with the ice once you fish it out?

Sitting on a bait bucket freezing the family jewels until the tip ups tip is not my idea of fun. I have seen some really nice ice fishing shacks that would make the ordeal almost tolerable. I copied this picture.

My son has a portable fish shanty. When he uses it he is fishing in shirt sleeves. The day picture was taken was a kids day of fishing. There was about 10 people fishing with their kids.

My one experience ice fishing was dreadful. Froze my but off all day never got one fish or even a nibble. But I learned a lot...I never went again. :laughing:

Warm or frozen water try both more than once and I rather spend my time doing other things.

Thanks for all the prayers and best wishes...Suzette came through fine.
She was still out when we saw her in the ICU and would be out for several more hours. My stepdaughter will be going back in tonight and I'll see her (Suzette) tomorrow morning.
The valve was replaced with a cow's heart valve...so, we got her a stuffed cow toy as a get well present....Suzette not being much on flowers

Hearing of things that happen in everyone's lives, whether past or present, helps me 'deal' with the day's trials and tribulations. Just thinking " wow, it could be much worse" , makes me realize that what may be going on in our lives, just isn't that bad.....

Have to admit, though, I'm in the "never-been, don't wanna" club when it comes to ice fishing. Or pretty much anything that involves ice and recreation. Kind of an oxymoron in my book...
