28 high of 45 today went to Winston-Salem yesterday wife and I had a ball and spent sometime with old friends

Mohammed hope your wife continues doing better and your back heals quickly

Drew have you read where some doctors now say sunscreen and no sun is bad for humans no vitamin D which can lead to a whole host of ailments 15 minutes twice a day seems to help. Interesting story on sunscreen which was developed by our military in WWII and Coppertone bought the rights to it and modified it to make us look brown

Prayers for all in need

Buppies, thanks. I hate the stuff, getting all slimed up, but we both know what the alternatives are.
SPF 50 or bust

I have a little treat in this picture. And it has a fun story behind it.
I read the tractor magazines each month at the barber and took a few of the older ones home.
Well one of the older magazines made its way to my friend in Delaware, the one with the grandchildren and the
electric JD kid's tractor. The grandchildren were amazed at the Tractorhouse magazine, all those neat tractors in there.
And bulldozers too! Well....grandpa asked me could I get some more?

You bet. Before Christmas I sent him a nice pile of them I had collected and he rewarded me with this wonderful after
Christmas picture of grandpop and the two boys deciding on whether they liked that tractor better than this one.
Priceless.

Good morning to all! Low of 29F, going up to mid 40's. No precip until maybe tomorrow night, light precip at most.

Today is also a 'take it easy' day. Need to go to grocery store to get a few things that weren't on the list earlier this week.

WNG, hope your head doesn't hurt too much this morning, take care. Any word on that bigger tractor to lift that end of the house?

Drew, have a great day, enjoy the quiet time in the greenhouse.

Just saw the national weather on tv, wind chill outside of Chicago was at -50F. That's way too cold! Everyone in that track of the polar vortex, take care!

Everyone have a great Sunday, prayers sent!

25 outside this AM. If it can get above freezing today, I need to get the pressure washer out on some equipment. Just rolling around up here and my stuff is equal to the look of Ricks work. Sadly, no one will make amends with me with a nice bottle. Maybe if I wash the wife's car I can go treat myself! LOL.

I hope your on the amends, wngsprd. Those scalp wounds are dastardly.

I love me that Tractorhouse magazine. Kind of puts me to working harder...so as to collect monies to actually buy stuff.

Speaking of which looks like Friday I'll report to work, again. Looks like, February is the fresh start month for me?

Yippie.

Off to the back forty....have a great day all. Be safe!

Good Morning!!!! 50F @ 5:45AM. Mostly sunny. High 67F. Winds light and variable.

No bugs in the weather station yesterday; it really was 60F+ that early in the morning, and it got up to 66F before clouds came in the afternoon. Looking back, it's not unusual to have temps that warm this time of year, just not so early in the AM. :confused2:

Got motorcycle rack loaded on the van yesterday, but had to drive the hitch pin in with a hammer because the bumper builder got the hole in the receiver off center. Hopefully it'll wallow out enough to be easier to remove. Sheesh, good help is hard to find these days!

Also brought in another pallet of wood to the garage, and rearranged things so I can get at the chop saw a little easier. Took the old tarp off the wood pile and replaced it with a flimsy Harbor Freight blue tarp, is was all they had in the size needed. Looks like H3ll, but it'll have to do.

Came across four bags of three year old erosion control seed, a rye/barley/clover mix I used when replanting the upper meadow. Not sure it's worth sowing it's so old. Thoughts? Maybe better to just put it out for the critters to eat; the mice got into it and made a heck of a mess in the garage so out it has to go!

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend...

Great picture Drew, glad you are going back to work Riptides

Mostly prayers for your wife and you

LS its just a spoke TPV I believe buts it’s in the wrong place for large US effects and the polar vortex breaks down soon so really hard to determine what winter has in store for most of us it’s remaining time
. I do believe you will get cold and the east will warm up but that’s a guess

Is the pup rip roaring and ready to go?

Ted, about 20 years ago I was in Chicago in the winter and foolishly left the hotel to get something.
First time in my life I was genuinely worried about freezing to death being outside.
The wind was howling between the office buildings, I was shaking with cold by the time I got back in the hotel,
with the beginning of hypothermia. Never forgot that, always go out with extra clothes in winter now.
It's hard to image minus 50

Mike, good news.
