totally delighted to come home and see the two firemen leaving, having unclogged that whole rear ditch in about four hours.
One guy said "if I never do that again it will be too soon"....to which I absolutely agreed, and gave them both a big tip on top of what we agreed on. My ditch heroes. Just an awful job. Now we need to chainsaw a bunch of trees in the ditch, then lastly I may rent a mini ex and have a nice muddy time. But at least now the ditch won't hold three feet of water all the time. Only took me four years to accomplish this.
went out and watered the plants, 102 in the greenhouse. Everything is popping up.
Enjoy your Friday evening and drive safely.
Drew, I'm envisioning 2 guys waste deep in the cold, muck, struggling to remove large broken off logs, flotsam and jetsam....by hand. Glad they got it done in 4 hours. How cold was it? Pictures?
David, beautiful sunrise. I wish I was there.
Ron, glad to hear your arm is better by the week. Don't over do it on chores.
Eric, I had the same feelings about Rick's barn too. Trying not to be covetous here, but it's tough.
PJ, not sure what I'd think if my Soul was burning.
Buppies and all, I Hope you all are getting better.
I need more barn space. A friend at work knows an older lady, who lost her husband some time ago. She wanted to offload some stuff, but not use Craigslist or social media. He told her that he knew a guy who would want and utilize the stuff....Well, most of the stuff. The list of stuff is long. I got a Lincoln tombstone welding rig and cables, welding rods, a complete oxyacetylene torch setup with bottles, a 230 volt/twin cylinder SpeedAir compressor (I think it's a 3 hp), a heavy duty metal bender on a pedestal, a Jet benchtop drill press with 2 vise' with about 60 drills, a Jet bench grinder, an old school Black and Decker cast aluminum heavy duter 7" side winder grinder, a hand Dake arbor press, and much more. Now all I need is a CNC lathe and Mill.
Now she's asking if I'm interested in her sectional couch and living room furniture.
You guys batten the hatches up north. It is blustery here and near 40F and dropping. I have a cough that won't go away and I don't look forward to getting out in this weather.
