Good morning!!!!

RIP- I am Hppy to read that your wife’s surgery went well and you had an “interesting,” but safe trip. I am happy to read the surgeon has recovered. ;)

RonJH- I could use a crane or two for squirrel control. Coll picture. Thanks for sharing.

The NWS/Norton-Boston has revised its total snowfall accumulation down to ~11” and NWS/Albany is also predicting similar amounts = more ice and freezing rain. Wifey- brought a couple of days worth of kindling and firewood. This is one complex weather event on its way: Overrunning Gulf and Atlantic moisture overrunning the storm front which is overrunning cold air damming. Tonight/tomorrow will be interesting.

This is being posted from my brand new MacBook Pro. It took a while to figure out the setup, but I managed to transfer files w/o too much aggravation.

Today a call from one of my closest friends put my current challenges in perspective. Her cancer has spread requiring a mastectomy and lymph node removal. They used her implant for a spacer. A few + thoughts, wishes, and prayers would be appreciated. If anyone is a survivor it is she.

Thankful the wifey can bring in the firewood.
Hopefully that MacBook Pro will keep you entertained while your having to kick back. Did you get the 13 or 15"? Plenty of weather drama to keep you entertained.

Will the Pats be able to beat the Chiefs? I'm on the fence. Wondering how the cold wind will affect the game. I'm wondering if Brady's experience might be the difference?

Need to get going on unloading stuff....

Kyle- It's the 15". I am fortunate that wifey can move firewood. She still needs to learn how to load the new wood stove and how to operate the tractor. She is leery of driving my NH due to an experience or two with my old Ford 1100 years ago. This new computer will definitely help the healing process.

As to the Pats it depends on which Pat team shows up and how well Brady is protected by the offensive line. I do not think the temperatures will bother either team. It should be a decent game regardless of which team wins. I hope that I can stay awake for the game.

Squirrels are not allowed at feeder when Sandhill Cranes are feeding.

Deeper the snow agreement might change. ;)

Good morning to all! Low of 25F last night, going up to 44F and sunny. The wind finally stopped last night around 10 pm. Today just light breezes. Tomorrow is also supposed to be just like today. Monday will bring in another storm into Tuesday.

I can't remember what if anything I did yesterday. I think I played with the pup, went on the computer while he napped, stir and repeat.....all day....

I remember Thursday.... I was able to weld up 98% of the mount I am making for the snow blade. There is only 1 weld left to do....about 2" long....ran out of rods. Didn't go get some at TSC because it was time for dinner....I'll do it tommorow....that didn't happen.

Maybe today I'll take wifey and we'll go to TSC. She actually likes the store.

We started an experiment last year at this time... Starting pine trees from seeds. Wifey has tended to them diligently. Today is transplant day, going into bigger containers. Some doing very well, specifically 'afgan pines' only lost 3 out of 72. The 'scotch pines' did just ok, barely hanging on, and 'ponderosa pines' did the worst. Only 6 left out of 36. These will be eventually planted along the property borders for a wind break.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Prayers sent for all those dealing with injuries or illness for speedy recovery.

No Cranes today. Not sure if it's snow or wind keeping them away. Squirrels are digging holes in snow to get at corn.
Got about 6". Still strong winds out of the north.
Will plow it tomorrow. Finally some seat time.

Here's some pics of the baby pines. The last pic is an odd plant. Drew should know what it is, he was the inspiration for it.

No seat time. Neighbor came over and used tractor to do my drive and his. The plan was for him to do drive until my arm is back to normal. I need to tell him that arm has healed enough for me to do it.
Actually it was nice to stay in warm house.

Mike, glad to hear your wife is doing better. Hope the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter.

18 inches of snow for a lot of you, yikes. Old Man Winter is coming in with a semi full of snow.
We might get a flurry...which will also jinx me, since it's supposed to get to 20 here early Tuesday morning. That meant lots of sheets went up on the delicate shrubs today. Looks like ghosts floating in the yard... I need to go get some bricks or maybe some small ground anchors and tie them down. Probably be chasing them all over the yard tomorrow but since it's going to rain tonight, thought the wet sheets would stay put a little better.

found a nice roll of shiny foil faced tape to seal off some of the insulation gaps and hold seams together; upon closer inspection I was unimpressed with the way they left it. It's not finished...but clearly their heart was not in it, I think once they started to itch it was a race to get home.

Took a long time to cut these openings out. I think the concept is solid but labor intensive in the beginning. But since I hope to get a couple of years out of this, then it's just infrastructure. In the one foot solid sections between the cutouts, I'm going to cut some four inch circles in the outer row and plant the marigolds and zinnias I have growing now in four inch pots in the greenhouse. Trying to get more flowers with my vegetables, hopefully they will have a mutually beneficial effect. Plus they look nice. Need to get some pics of green growing things for you guys about to get dumped on.
Plus, my daffodils are starting to pop through already.
