Good Morning!!!! 48F @ 5:00AM. A mix of clouds and sun during the morning will give way to cloudy skies this afternoon. High 52F. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph.
Yesterday turned out pretty well. The judge accepted my hardship claim, and I was out of there by 9:30. At the Kubota dealer, a mechanic pulled the rest of the grease seal off the axle, showing that the axle was fine an saving me the $300 for a new one. The rest of the parts for the tractor should be in by the end of the week. TSC had a new gate opener for me, and I had it installed and working by 11:00. After lunch, I drained the parts cleaner into a couple five gallon buckets in hopes I can get the water to separate from the Stoddard solvent, so that's on the agenda for today. Also came up with a couple of eye bolts I hope to screw into the plates of the burned battery up by the gate, and get that out of the ground. I also came home yesterday with a new marine battery and plastic box, so I'll try to get the remains of the old box out of the ground, too, and then decide how to mount the new ones.
Right now I can hear a mouse raising Cain in the kitchen, so I'll start the day putting a little peanut butter on a trap and hiding it under the sink.
Tonight the folks I stayed with during the evacuation are having a birthday party for the wife, and I hope to see some of the photos she made while she was in Cuba earlier in the month. Then spend the night in my "old" room to save me driving home so late. Should be fun!
