PT and doctor appointment went well. But what a waste of Dr and my time. Don't forget to add the money Medicare paid out

And that's the reason I just quit going to my doctors.

If you take home a chicken from Costco, I think you will find this interesting.
Shows some of the challenges "our" Farmer goes through

Chicken seems to be a favorite loss leader. $1.99 for boneless chicken breasts at Food Lion, same price for many years.
Boxed chickens usually 7 or 8 dollars.
No Costco near me unfortunately.

Well, I don't shop at Costco, but I do buy those "ready to eat" chickens from Sam's Club now and then. They are pretty good and at a good price for me; may not be a very good price for the farmers. Everything I've seen and read about chicken and turkey farmers makes me wonder why anyone would do it.

Good Morning!!!! 48F @ 5:00AM. A mix of clouds and sun during the morning will give way to cloudy skies this afternoon. High 52F. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph.

Yesterday turned out pretty well. The judge accepted my hardship claim, and I was out of there by 9:30. At the Kubota dealer, a mechanic pulled the rest of the grease seal off the axle, showing that the axle was fine an saving me the $300 for a new one. The rest of the parts for the tractor should be in by the end of the week. TSC had a new gate opener for me, and I had it installed and working by 11:00. After lunch, I drained the parts cleaner into a couple five gallon buckets in hopes I can get the water to separate from the Stoddard solvent, so that's on the agenda for today. Also came up with a couple of eye bolts I hope to screw into the plates of the burned battery up by the gate, and get that out of the ground. I also came home yesterday with a new marine battery and plastic box, so I'll try to get the remains of the old box out of the ground, too, and then decide how to mount the new ones.

Right now I can hear a mouse raising Cain in the kitchen, so I'll start the day putting a little peanut butter on a trap and hiding it under the sink.

Tonight the folks I stayed with during the evacuation are having a birthday party for the wife, and I hope to see some of the photos she made while she was in Cuba earlier in the month. Then spend the night in my "old" room to save me driving home so late. Should be fun!

Life is too short to worry too much about . . .

How many good years do you figure you have left? :D Now don't go telling your grandchildren life is too short and not to worry about detail, they may be flying my plane or operating on me in 20 years. Eric you are right about K, I do feel like UK is one place to stay hydrated after your temp report.

Good mo0rning! 38 ˚F cloudy no wind. opps, mis spelled, ugh - life is too short to backspace . . .:D

Ron, still working on Mom, I think things got a little clearer for her yesterday. While we were here there was a fire by her house and my old VFD was sent. One of the firefighters was welding and started a grass fire - it was quickly contained.

Kyle, Giddings is reporting ZERO visibility. it must be very foggy there this morning, be careful.

Don, sorry about the loss of your Aunt.

Was nice you could take your mom and show her around.

28°F (or -2.2°C, or 271°K) and cloudy this morning, going up to 50° (or 10°, or 283*°) today. Cooler weather in the 30s will return on Friday, but mid-50s expected tomorrow.

I've been to a fairly large family-owned chicken farm, and like Bird, I'm not sure why anyone would want to do that. I suppose it would have to be a large operation for any chance of making money at it. Messy business.

I installed a combination digital/pipe organ at a mega-church in Chino CA many years ago, and it was right across the highway from miles and miles of large cattle operations. You could drive for miles in the opposite direction and still not get away from that smell.
