I think there is some sort of disconnect between the app vs the website.

OK, you guys talking about watches finally got me to look in the file cabinet, and I see that I paid $30 plus sales tax at Walmart for my Timex W92 wrist watch on 7/13/2010, so it's only 8 years old, and has had the battery changed ONE time several years ago. It's laying on the dresser in the bedroom and I use it twice a year to reset all the rest of our clocks when we change to and from daylight savings time. And twice a year, I check to make sure it has the right time, right down to the second, before setting the other clocks. And I can't even remember the last time I had to change the time on that watch. I have NEVER known of a watch or clock that keeps any more accurate time than this old Timex does.

Bird, I think of Timex watches every Christmas, each time I hear "Deck the hall with boughs of holly". When I was younger they had a tv commercial to that tune that encouraged us to "Ring the bells with Christmas Timex, Tick-a-tick-a-Timex tra-laa-la ". It has forever hijacked that carol and would take some serious therapy to erase, my only way of coping was to later in life buy a Seiko :) . Fortunately for all here I couldn't find it on you tube :D

I have tried on several occasions to wear a watch on a regular basis. I'm just not a watch guy. In fact, not a jewelry guy either. Though, admittedly, I feel somewhat naked on the odd occasions that I leave my wedding ring on the bathroom shelf. I have a bunch of pocket watches I've inherited from my Father's side of the family; I have his, my Grandfather's, and Great-grandfather's pocket watches that are kept in my Father's cuff link case and in our safe. My Great-grandfather died in an automobile accident, and the watch broke at the time of his death. The rest all function fine. I have one I wear when we dress for an outing, which is engraved with my initials and was given to me by my Wife while we were still dating. It's the only watch I ever use.

I am impressed you still use a pocket watch, there is something very satisfying about taking one out to reveal the time that is so much better than a glimpse at a mobile phone.

When I used to work in the mining industry in the 80's, so many wrist watches were becoming powered by batteries that all were banned underground, for fear of igniting any methane. Pocket watches were still ok though, so I used my Grandfather's for several years, something I would never have imagined only a few years previously.

Good morning. I have 20 ton of gravel coming today. Before daylight I was out to move our cars to allow the truck to turn in our yard, a 2 minute job that took much longer, thanks to both windscreens being coated in ice. Very pleasant though to sit there in a heated seat while the ice melted and listen to the radio. So good in fact I'm tempted to do it again one day, even without a delivery, to remind me how lucky I am to no longer have to drive to work every day in this weather :)

Gosh would I like to go back in a time machine with modern tractors and relive that experience.

Can I go back again Santa?

Sure you can Drew, just keep that thought each night as your head hits your pillow and before long you will be travelling back in time with your brand new Massey.

Thanks Eric!
Well, here I am, Dec 17 1965, plowing an early snow down the long farm lane, comfortable and warm in my nice cab tractor. No freezing cold steel steering wheel to hold onto. No ice cold metal pan seat to sit on. No pumping my right arm off manually raising the old snow plow. (I wonder if I can trace my somewhat wrecked right arm all the way back to that black bakelite ball on top of a cold green steel lever)
Plus listening to Stapletons's Tennessee Whiskey and Parachute cranked up on the stereo.

Probably wouldn't want to come in, would go plow all the neighbors out too. Funny, none of them had a tractor. Teenagers used to do
a lot of shoveling back then. When the road I lived on intersected with the next big road about a mile away, that's as far as I ever took the JD.
But on a particularly bad snowy day, I had the good sense to cross the road and plow out the parking lot of the older folks who lived there.
The wife of whom just happened to be our local Justice Of The Peace. With her own little court room in that tiny house in one bedroom.
A few years later when I arrived back to say hi to her, with sheets of incriminating paper describing my poor driving,
she chewed me out pretty badly, your parents didn't raise you to do this, etc, as I was sinking into the floor.
I paid the fines and left and she would rip up the tickets and pocket the money.
Justice on the local level. Influenced by good work on a tractor no less.

But like in all the sci fi books I read, what happens if I can't get back?

Pondering that for not too long, happy to report it is a relatively warm 46F going up to 61F today.
Means I can probably open up a window in the kitchen while I bake brownies and muffins all morning.

Coffee has finished brewing. 29° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 33° with mostly cloudy skies. Got circuit breaker box installed. Took longer than planned. Broke the 70 year old light fixture. Off to Lowes to buy a replacement. $1.48 each. Got lights in barn again. Even put all tools away. PT then Dr appointment this morning. That should be enough for today.

Wngsprd, I went with the Ring cameras because of the built in features. Camera, flood lights, siren, voice, adjustable range settings and many more options. All these can be used and adjusted with the app. They also work with our Echo Show. Just ask Alexa to show backyard. They are not cheap. But work well for me. We have a separate burglar alarm for house. Thinking about adding a battery operated one to front door with solar panel. So far they work well. The two I installed last week replaced motion detectors and video recorders that did not connect to anything.

Eric, 20 tons should give you some good seat time. My tractor has not moved in over a month. I need some seat time.

Drew, driving my dads Farmall A was easy. It had hydraulics. As did my Farmall Cub that I had when I first moved here. I think the failure of my right arm started from not having power steering. :confused3:

Buckeye, LS and Drew, Mmmmmmmmmmmm! Chocolate Chip Cookies. Leave a plate of them out for me.

Don, sorry to hear about Aunt's passing.

Good Morning All.

32° going to 55° and sunny...heading for a bit of a drying. If so, I have some carpentry work to do.

Ron, thanks for info.

RNG, sorry about your axle. I have a slow leak in my left rear hub, but I'm not up to tackling it, so tractor may see the inside of the dealer's shop for the first time since it was new almost 15 years ago.

Forgot to mention there is a fee per item to have your data saved at Ring. If paid by the year it’s $30 each. Mine came with a years data. There are other data plans.
Ring is owned by Amazon.
