Trying to sell me health-care or lower my CC interest.

Those two, plus wanting to sell me an extended warranty on my car. Most of those wanting to sell me an extended warranty are talking about vehicles that I haven't owned for several years. So usually I just hang up, as I did this morning.

Hey - it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. With the temps above freezing and the rain we have been having - the two inches of snow is rapidly vanishing.

Some day I will regal you all on the pure pleasures of having your only phone be a cell phone and ONLY turning it on when YOU want to use it.
I have my cell set to only accept messages from numbers that I recognize - pure pleasure.

Those who think I might need to purchase their product soon learn - it is useless to continue calling a number that will not even accept messages.

Jay for the Mid Atlantic no for you folks maybe and I do love snow just not going to be our year. Snow melting pretty good waiting on 1 to 2in of rain Friday. If we get two in sets record for the year over 60in of rain

I want more snow. The 2' we have right now is not nearly enough. We have 'some' coming on Friday.

When you live close to east side of one of the Greatlakes. You get snow when no one else does.

RonJ- I agree. We had family in the Buffalo, NY area and traveled there for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Things always seemed to get "interesting" on the NYS Thruway around Rome, NY. The snow accumulations in those GL snowband areas is impressive. Every now and then we will get some accumulating snow from snow plumes coming form Lake Ontario or Erie depending on the prevailing winds. A 600 mile trip. My area usually sees greater snow accumulations than the Buffalo area itself, but in the surrounding highlands the annual snow totals are significantly greater than the ~90" I may see.

I wonder just how much I will see this Season.

I agree until the Pacific jet de-energizes the cold will be bottled up North. And the Polar airmass is warm for this time of year which does not help. As long the upper level jet remains as it is a wet December

I'm not worried about December, I'm looking past the January thaw. There may be a severe cold outbreak in the mid January-mid February slot. I hope not, I'm rooting for the Pineapple Express, not crazy about a ton of rain, but cold is too hard on this old man anymore.

Whipper and I did 5 miles of hiking today. We were the only ones on the trail because the water was still coming over the bridge and to get to the trail you had to cross it. I took off my shoes and held on to Whipper because there was a lot of slime in the fast moving water that was about a foot deep. We were able to see how the turkeys crossed the creek by flying over- see pic.
After we got home my wife reminded me of our dance lessons so it was a full day and now I can waltz.
