Good morning!!!!

Ted- Doofy has/had been posting most of the day. The thread that he started has probably some of the best local reporting and interpretation.

There is a potential for even stronger aftershocks according to some of the "experts."

Harv- I hope that you are home and/or close. "Characters" in hospitals are sometimes "offered" other "in house" accommodations.:wink:

Buppies- My 19" of total snow accumulation has compacted down to ~6"-8" in the open field. Even with the pending "rain event" here and considering my location and predicted long term temperatures trends I anticipate the typical white Christmas here. After that who really knows. I may need to build a Brogen powered sled.

L4N, can't blame the cat for keeping away if it thought it would be the next one going to see that nice vet.

This cat is either a stray or feral. I want it to trust me enough that I can pet it. If It wants into the house, I don't have a problem letting it in. The other six house cats might object, but they will get over it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Looking4new
Well, the dog is back home a little sore, but alive. She is officially an 'it', now.
The stray cat didn't come for its' food yesterday. I believe it is living (sleeping) in the straw bales in the lean to. The overnight temps aren't cold enough to freeze a cat to death yet, I don't think.
....................
Good to read about the pup :thumbsup:
Maybe cat got a better deal???
I thought he was a gonner, but the cat came back tonight. Ate a full dish of food and drank a dish of milk.
~~~~~~~~~~~

25 tonight 34F tomorrow. 30% chance of either rain or snow.

55 currently. 65 tomorrow. Rain and thunderstorms.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I’ve tried to comp it but I’ve yet to find one for sale with over 600 hours. So I was kinda putting out feelers to y’all. Really surprised with some of your purchase hours. That size tractor 1500 hours is a cut off for me but at Drew’s new tractor size I’d go 2000. And over 100hp 6 cylinders I’d go 5000 hours maybe more. Especially if already rebuilt.

Haven’t been able to work last 2 days during the day. Having to pull night shifts. Youngest has the flu. Had to see two doctors yesterday to get the full diagnosis. Then had a useless discussion today with a supervisor of the first doctor. Will no longer use her. Fist diagnosis was for a cold/upper respiratory infection. I understand they’re all viruses but the flu requires extra prudence especially in a 2 year old with breathing problems already. Second time first doctor missed something. First time she missed a pneumonia in an infant. Doctor rolled his eyes and shook his head when I said I’d seen a partner nurse practitioner the day before. He heard it in the scope and used X-ray to confirm.

Drew. Nice tractor. May you have many hours of enjoyment. The New Holland, Case IH and large Deere’s I’ve been around all had a point where with the electronic clutch pedals you could hear a click then the clutch would start to engage. Smaller Deere’s I never found that click.

Sorry for your loss LS. Get the knee better.

Rng. Hang in there.

Jay good to see you back.

Thank you Buppies for the thoughts and prayers. The doc says I need an abdominal ultrasound.....I just watched Rudolph with my son and I keep getting tongue tied and saying abominable....
You take care of your arm and shoulder. Ron too.

BEF... Your timing could not have been more perfect to cheer me up a little....

I just had to say goodbye to my little buddy of 12 years about 2 hours ago. It was a loosing battle with a very aggressive cancer. Just 4 weeks ago there were no signs.... Fighting to type from behind my tears... This was Kipp...
So sorry. I've told this story before. My golden got down with cancer. On a dark, stormy night, I took him 55 miles to a 24 hour emergency vet clinic. They xrayed him and confirmed horrible cancer. They gave him some pills for pain. I told them I would put him down the next day. He died on the 55 mile journey back home at around midnight. Very near where my 38 year old friend pulled over and died from an aneurysm. I had my contractor dig a 6 foot huge hole overlooking our pond. I nearly filled it with tears. My wife says it was only the 2nd time she had seen my FIL cry.

Harvey, here is an interesting link
Drop Attacks - neurosymptoms.org

Harvey, try to remember how you felt right before your legs gave out so you can be aware of that feeling and lay down quickly so you don't fall.

Harvey, prayers for you and your med staff to figure out what's up.

Ted and family, very sorry for loss of a good friend. A bestie...

successful day here

Drew, nice machine. A big ray of sunshine for next year's food plot. Hope you enjoy it.

RNG, I watched the link and when the lady explained a 75 mph wind blowing back towards the fire and actually putting it out, I had some hairs stand up on the back of my neck. A dryer would be an excellent gift for your hosts. I wouldn't know where to begin about how to thank someone who would let me stay in their home like this. Must be some really, really good people. The picker's van is a POS.

It got up to +80F here and humid. My wife turned on the AC. We did end up losing a chicken to a predator. Probably the owl. Chicken count is down to 2. Like Sodamo, I'll be working on hydraulic leaks tomorrow. Cylinder tear down, and attempt to reverse engineer the seals and orings, and the internal groove split ring (I'll have to make it). I'm too cheap to buy the Deere parts. :) I need to rebuild the other 3 cylinders too....

Good evening all. 60F for the start, overcast, calm wind. Wind picked up about 10AM was going 0-17 mph. Sky became mostly cloudy then clouded back up and high temp was 71F. Line of weather came through about 8:30 tonight, wind blew and lightning strike close by, less than a second between light and sound.
Bike ride this morning, and nap and finish lights this afternoon. Need to reposition the photosensor on one corner so it can find more light.
Kyle hope whatever you have is easily treatable! I would never try to make parts for tractor unless they were not available. You might buy a new set of seals to copy and be able to identify factory coatings or plating on the new parts. Good luck on your seal project.
Farmer sounds like a rough patch. Hope you can find better Dr easily.
Jay good to here Brogen likes pumpkin and squash. Lived next to a vet for 30 uears, he was never a fan of feeding people food to pets.
Drew, nice tractor, did Kubota help unload?
Randy, hang in there with Ellen. Alzheimer's is a *****.
LS sorry to hear about your dog. My FIL was born in New Mexico before it was a state!
L4N nice to here your stray has not left yet.
Buppies take care of your remaining arm!
Harv, doesn't look like it is keeping you down. just don't overdo till you figure out what you can do safely.
prayers for all

RIP "41".

LS, sorry about your loss.

Good morning! The extreme cold last night made me think of this thread-- -13ーC, no snow, no ice, just hard, hard ground. I've been getting wood from the back of our land, lots of dead, mostly dry trees to thin out.

Now heading out to take the Iseki up the hill to move some hay to the goats and sheep, who got a bit brave about the electric fence this week and have been helping themselves to the young wheat the neighbor has in his field. I put a 4th wire there, hope I don't find them out when I get up there. They have plenty to eat in the 9 acres they are on, but they don't like going way back down the field when they can just jump to the neighbor.

Hope all of you are doing well and getting well prepared for winter.

RIP President Bush. A good man.

surprisingly warm today, up into low 60's with rain, looks like a wet weekend

Randy, take care of yourself and Ellen. We lost my grandfather to Alzheimer’s years ago, it really aged my father.
LS, sorry for your loss. I’ve got a 10 year old boxer, she seems fine now, but when she goes I know it will be a dark day here.
Harv, take care.

"Actually, everyone who sticks around are great people, look forward to our conversations."- Randy
Considering the wide variety of personalities this thread is a pretty well "balanced;" No drama and no "food fights." :cool:

Randy- Hang in there. I would not be posting anywhere if it was not for the support of my wife and friends when I first got sick. I am so happy to read about your and Ellen's relationship. Some things in life are meant to be. My mom died from a dementing illness (multi-infarct dementia). No more psychobabble today:embarrassed:

Bill- I am happy to read that your dog's neutering went w/o incident and that she is doing well.

Drew- Good luck with your new tractor. I hope that you and your tractor have many long and boring hours of operation together. My NH's telescoping and adjustable steering post is now "free moving."

RNG- I am sorry to read about the flash flooding. That NWS ProMet needs retraining on how to interpret weather data. The potential for Tstorms "training" with that storm system was a popular topic. Thank you for your updates and opinions about this catastrophe. Hang in there.

Harv- I hope the test results offer no surprises.

A balmy 23F to start the day and no "surprises" in the living room. I cooked one of our squashes last night, mashed the pulp with some peanut butter. Brogen liked the new food additive to his food mix. He's back to "normal." It appears that squashes in general helps canine gastric disturbances. Thanks for the suggestions It also appears that the leftover turkey scraps were triggering his GI problems. The leftovers were used to make soup prior to becoming dog food. Something in the soup ingredient mix? I removed all the onion and garlic prior to giving it to the dog. He tolerates turkey in canned/roll dog food.

Not much planned for today. I hope that everyone has a decent weekend. My weekend looks to have some icing, freezing rain, sleet; but mostly rain. It looks like I will be firing up the wood stove starting Tuesday. I have only used the stove ~6 times this year. We have been heating our house with our new slimline HVAC system; making use of our established credit with the electric company due to our solar panel production. We have not paid an electric bill this year.

I hope those on the mend keep mending; and those who do not stay that way.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for all

Our boxer had some gastric problems, and we feed her some canned pumpkin. She likes it, so that is even better.

30 and going to a high of 34F. Wind SW 11 mph. 30% chance of either snow or rain.

There is a 'special weather statement', but that is for Sunday and it is way too early to rely on that.

Yesterdays shopping trip covered 11 stores and a gas station. We were home and the stuff put away at 3.

The DIL wants to go to a rummage sale today along with some local shopping. This ought to be fun.

Have a good day all

Drew, you’ve done Kubota, Deere, and now Massey. I think you’re in danger of being a tractor ****.
