48 going to 77. In FL sometimes it cannot decide if it wants to be cool or warm.

Gettin' more like Texas? Yesterday, our temperature ranged from 48 to 70, clear and sunny; very nice Saturday. We didn't stop at any of them, but saw Garage Sales everywhere.:D Yesterday, the weather forecasters said a cold front was coming; 40% chance of rain today. This morning when I got up they had taken the rain out of the forecast, said it was 41 degrees going for a high today of 44. And now it's 39 and they're forecasting a high of 47.

Drew, we need some big tractor action pictures!
next week I hope. Headed up to VA for holidays this week, driving home on Black Friday down Route 17 is always a thrill.
Feels good to get back to NC...lot less traffic anyways.
I'll wave to Wingsprd and Buppies and David/Mossflower, and others.

quiet day today

59° here this morning and that will be the high for the day. With the cool front coming thru our temperature is forecast to drop, during the day, to 51° by midnight.

Finished my driveway and ranch road grading yesterday and need some rain to wash the dust off of all the gravel again.

No big plans for today with rain in the forecast. May watch the Texans football game with Redskins.

Houston Cougars beat Tulane 48-17 but we've lost our QB D'Eriq King, for the rest of the season with a torn meniscus.

Ron, careful on the snow and ice. . Remember .... Fall is a season ... not an activity.

Everyone have a great day!

Prayers to all.

Kind of cold this morning 1°. We got about 3 inches of snow yesterday. We have clear skies this morning, the high will be in the mid 40's and a 15-20 mph wind.

I worked on the tool box for a few hours yesterday. I'm going to try and get some more of it done today when it gets warmer outside. The deer here are in the rut, it would be a good time to go out is if there are any big bucks around. I might do that this afternoon.

Not much else planned for today.

Have a good Sunday.
CWB.

Good Morning!!!! 36F @ 7:30AM here in Chico, CA. Some clouds this morning will give way to generally sunny skies for the afternoon. Expect widespread areas of smoke and haze, reducing visibility at times. High near 65F. Winds light and variable.

Kyle, it's all about the fuel ladder. Keep the flame height low by removing fuels from the ground. Keep it out of the trees by limbing them up at least ten feet. Most people do neither, especially in Paradise. My friend that lost his house admitted as much, for both his and his neighbor's yards. All of my property burned, but the open areas away from the house were covered with mulched grass clippings that didn't have much heat energy. The trees survived because they were all limbed up. The fire was wind driven as evidenced by the unburned grass in the 20'x30' "yard" behind the patio on the south side of the house, in the shadow of the wind. A 30' wide band of decomposed granite, gravel, or concrete surrounded the house on all sides. The fire burned to the edge of that zone and stopped. Unfortunately, people in high population density areas don't have enough room to make fire safe zones. Maybe they'll take that into consideration when/if they rebuild Paradise. I also recall seeing cedar shake roofs on homes in my friend's neighborhood. Unbelievable! Perhaps they'll revise the building codes to incorporate fire safe materials and construction techniques.

Reports are coming in of looting in areas northeast of where I live. We're supposed to get an inch of rain a day starting Wednesday and lasting into Friday. Hope it's a gentle rain that soaks in; with all the vegetation gone from the hill sides, there could be mud slides everywhere. There's a Red Flag Warning in effect for the rest of the day due to high winds in the foothills and mountains. The silver lining might be cleaner air for those of us down in the valley. Fingers crossed on that.

No return call from the electrical contractor I contacted last week, so I'll have to try again on Monday. I at least want to get the permits in place so the job is ready to go when the evacuation orders lift. I'm pretty sure I have the plugs and SO cord on hand to rig up the generator to power the well and jet pump, and the rest of the house, but I'd rather have an electrician do it with a permit. But I won't wait a week for someone to do work I can do myself, either.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!

I hate to hear about looters. Where is the law? Why won't they let some back in to guard their homes? I'm guessing the bottom of the bucket meth heads.....but who knows.

I guess the types of laws enacted post fires, will be something California has to deal with. Another layer of bureaucracy. But if everyone did as you did, things would be much better off.

I may have to dig up my ozone generator and loan it to you if your house smells inside.

At Ford dealer..... last time it was clean.

This is hysterical... last fall I almost bought the exact same color, 8ft bed, gasser, f250. It was a left over 17. I passed because I do mostly highway miles and was worried about the mileage, so I went with a 6.5 bed f150 Platinum with the tow package. Great looking truck...

This one is pretty much a new version of my last F-350 Diesel but, has LED headlights, tail lights and all the cameras. It was in inventory at dealer and has all available options as far as I can tell.

My 2012 F-350 KR.

I like the color as it won't show dirt, dust, mud, as bad as my last one. This is last year for this color too.

I'm getting 18-20 mpg which should improve as I get miles on it.
