I almost fell on my garage side ramp this morning when I went to feed the outdoor cats, glare ice is some dangerous stuff!
Had a very large eagle across the road in the field this morning, he was trying to get off the ground with what appeared to be a small deer/fawn, or coyote sized animal. He would start hopping and flapping, but all he could do was skim along the ground. He finally ate his fill, then cut away enough so he could carry the rest.

good morning all. 31 going up to high 50's today in sunshine.

David, isn't when the tops of the waveforms are cut off, isn't that called "clipping"?
Took one electronics course in college, affectionately known as Shocks For Jocks,
and learned how to plug in an oscilloscope, not use it.
Very few people likely know how, impressed that you do and very impressed with Eric's explanation.

Hope power is back on for all this morning.
got my pressure washer antifreeze yesterday, will dose my main washer today. I was going to make my own but didn't like some of the ingredients in the water pump lube so decided to be smart, not risk an expensive pressure washer, and use the little can of Briggs/Stratton foam, like a small can of shaving cream.
Just seems like this little can ought to cost five bucks, not 13....

the joys of an unheated barn...

have a nice weekend everyone. Those in snow take it slow.

Thanks for the pressure washer reminder Drew. Two of our pressure washer live in the shop when freezing weather is expected but, the 4000 psi PW is trailer mounted so it stays protected but outside.

46° here this morning with forecast high of 73°. This is our "normal" range for this time of year.

Still have one section of driveway, near the house, to regrade but should finish that today.

Good Morning!!!! 40F @ 6:15AM here in Chico, CA. Some clouds this morning will give way to generally sunny skies for the afternoon. Expect widespread areas of smoke and haze, reducing visibility at times. High near 65F. Winds light and variable.

Air quality is rated "hazardous" to all people here, and most go about their business wearing particle masks. Probably only a matter of time before we start seeing hold ups with the gunmen wearing the masks to hide their identity.

Last night's Camp Fire briefing centered on the efforts to recover human remains from the burned structures. Hundreds of search and rescue personnel have been gathered from surrounding areas via mutual aid agreements; they are the ones going house-to-house. Over 1000 people are unaccounted for so far, about 300 have been "found" or otherwise removed from the list. They've also brought in an "Instant DNA" outfit to help identify remains that are badly burned. As of last night, the death toll is 63.

Some progress has been made on the fires on the east boundary, and evacuation orders have been lifted in some of the Cherokee area to the south of my home. Small progress, but progress none-the-less. 140,000 acres burned, 50% contained, 12,000 structures destroyed, as of last night.

President Trump is supposed to tour the fire area today; I hope his presence doesn't impede progress on the relief effort.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

It's a little warmer this morning 33°, yesterday was in the 50's with a 15-20 mph wind and clear skies. This morning is overcast with 70% chance of snow showers. They are saying we might get a inch or two. The high will be in the upper 30's.

I did manage to get the tarp on the camper before the wind picked up yesterday morning. The neighbor gave me a old 48 inch Husky tool box that was in the box of the truck we took off last week. It's not in every good shape but I think I can get it to be useful. The wheels are gone and part of the frame is bent and broken. As of now a big hammer is the best tool I've found to work on it.

I had a hip replacement in 2002, it makes me very mindful of where I step.

Hope everyone feels better and has a good weekend.
CWB.

Having landed on my head a couple of times and my arse more times than I can count, I am VERY mindful of where my feet go in winter.

Been noticing that our SS deposits seem to be getting well past the 15th of the month. Thought Credit Union was holding the money. Nope, SS now pays on 3rd Wednesday of the month. This month it's the 21st. I must have missed when this got changed.

The big news here is Walmart opened this morning at 9:00. It closed thursday afternoon. We have a lot to be thankful for. Here we all have homes to come home to, even if the power is off. Saw a video from southwest Va and they showed a twig that with the ice was 1 1/2" to 2" thick. We didn't have anything like that.

Ron, don't do the falling thing, it hurts. Prayers sent.

Buppies, Prayers for the shoulder.

Welcome new guys.

Prayers sent. Ed
