Nice dedication this afternoon, great weather though pretty chilly in the wind.
Major General from Marines spoke, good turnout, lot of vets there, who seemed very appreciative.

33 degrees even down south here this morning, but supposed to be clear and sunny and going for a high of 51.

And wngsprd, even after you get everything settled in regards to Medicare, supplement, Part D, etc., you still get lots of phone calls and mail trying to sell you something during the open enrollment period each year.

Sometimes I wish it was more like the health insurance of 50 years ago; no trying to determine which plan was best; just one plan, and the only decision was to take it or leave it.

27 degrees here north and east of Denison this morning, 45 high. We got the bois d arc (Osage orange) fire going good this afternoon. The wind was blowing away from us and since it looked like that was the pattern until tomorrow afternoon I went for it. I don稚 want the poison ivy vines that are a couple of inches thick and everywhere in the wood blowing back on us. Glenda痴 highly allergic but I seem to be immune to it.

Watching the news on the California fires takes me back to 1969 and venturing into a fire north of Fontana at three in the morning with two bar maids, their VW beetle. One of them knew the area and a back way in. What I remember most was doing 45 mph and the fire staying with us trying to get out of it. Two tours of Nam and dying in a crazy stunt in a wild fire was on my mind the whole time. It痴 hard to imagine riding the wave of flame not unlike surfing a wave.

RNG, I truly hope your home and stuff survive. I know the smoke damage alone can keep you from living there, if it gets close enough. Is the lake too far away for the fire dept to pump it up there?

Bupps, my friend got his shoulder operated on maybe 2 years ago. He had a sports surgeon do the op. Doc told him there would be a long recuperation time of about 2 months, not lifting anything. I talked to him last Saturday. He said the recovery sucked, but it got much better and bearable. Just a few weeks ago, he fell off his 18 wheeler on his repaired shoulder and head. It knocked him out. He said the shoulder was getting better by the day as the bruising subsides.

Probably going to spend some time in the studio today. Feeding the chickens and ducks this morning when it was 25ー was about enough outside stuff for me.

Need to get out and finish cleaning out my side of the garage. Wife parked her car in there last night ... because she can now.

PJ, your chickens might appreciate an infrared bulb in their hen house. My daughter told me that when it gets really cold, laying hens won't get off their nests to feed and water themselves, to keep the eggs warm. Only one out of our last 3 chickens does this, but it hasn't gotten below 40F here yet.....that's coming in a couple of days.

I bought some new trailer lights with a backup light in them, but my Yukon doesn't seem to have a pin in the connector for backup lights on the trailer. So I might take them back and just buy the regular 4 pin flatplug style.

I had to jack up my commuter car to repair an exhaust heat shield that had come loose and was making noises I didn't like.

Had to drain and replace the fuel/water separator filter in my tractor. The hose that is supposed to drain around the filler cap was clogged. Cleaned that out. Good to go.

Made me a new grill for my trusty 22" Old Smokey BBQ pit. Trying some expanded 1/16" stainless steel. Not sure if it will hold up to the heat or not, but we'll see. Stainless can/will lose it's stainless properties if heated too hot. (unless you have it in an inert atmosphere).

I'm having trouble with my Miller Syncrowave 250 tig welder at work. The coolant has never been changed, and it's rusted out the coolant tank and stuff. There is a fine screen filter inline, and I believe it has caught everything, but....after tearing it all down and putting it back together, I can't get it to clear a -19 code. It should be reset by holding one button for about 40 seconds. Will look at it Monday, but I'm getting very busy at work again, after having a few weeks with little to do.
