Good morning!!!!

Good morning! A very muggy 72˚ this morning cloudy 50% chance of rain. It will be nice to see all the political trash gone.

Mom called crying yesterday, she had got a call from her grandchild that he was in jail and needed $5,000 cash to make bail and please don't tell his mother. It took me a while to convince her it was a scam, she kept insisting it was her grandchild voice. We got the mother on the phone and she said her son was in school. Hate scammers of the elderly.

Hate scammers of the elderly.

Yep, there ought to be a special place in **** for people like that. I learned, many years ago, that it's much safer for the scammers to scam the elderly because, even if they get caught, they aren't likely to go prison. For one thing, the elderly victim is quite likely to not be a good witness in court to get a conviction. For another thing, if caught, the scammer may offer to return that one victim's money if they won't prosecute and the victim usually needs to get that money back more than he/she wants to see the scammer go to jail. It's a tough situation for both the victim and the police.

Drew, we are waiting almost patiently for your tractor decision.

How nice...and you won't have to wait longer. :dance1:
Got a nice package deal on a MF 4707 with 6 foot reverse rotation rototiller and a 6 foot bush hog.
Two conveniences sold me, I could get the glass roof and buddy seat at a price I could afford, and couldn't do that
in the JD. Otherwise the tractors were 7 hundred bucks apart. I decided on the larger one since I bought too small last time.
It will be my Christmas present. Coming in by truck from another dealer, probably get it next week.
Drew I'm not so sure you bought the right tractor!!!

Good Morning!!!! 52F @ 5:00AM. Sunny. High 72F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Only one thing certain about the new tractor, Drew. As soon as it arrives, you'll find one just like it for sale somewhere else for substantially less.

It's amazing to me that will all the technical wizardry out there, the phone companies can't prevent people from spoofing phone numbers and using them to make scam calls. I agree with Bird, I hope there is a special place in He11 for the scammers, and for those administrators in the phone companies that just shrug their shoulders and say "there's nothing we can do". In the mean time, Don, thank goodness your mother had the good sense to call you before she went ahead and sent the money out. If your bank offers it, and you're cosigning on her accounts, you might want to set up an email alert to go out each time there's a transaction on the account. For peace of mind, if nothing else.

Yesterday's break in ride was cut short when, after stopping for a photo op, the old BMW's starter went click-click-click instead of vrooom!. Called my free tow service, and they said it would be at least an hour, so I called my neighbor, who was there with jumper cables in fifteen minutes. It was his first time seeing the bike; not exactly the first impression I was hoping to make. :confused2:  Bike started right up, so now I'm thinking the alternator isn't charging, and it's likely the way the previous owner wired in the replacement instrument cluster. BMW chose to wire the current to the exciter circuit in the rotor through the dash panel alternator warning light, and that light has to be an old timey filament bulb to work properly. The new dash panel uses LEDs, so a bypass resistor should be in place. I saw one when I remounted the instrument cluster, but didn't take the time to make sure it was correctly installed. Now it's time to take another look...

Happy Hump Day, folks!

34° and clear skies this morning, going up to 52° today.

Late to work today. The furnace is out in the upstairs office, and it's quite cold up there. Repair guy can't get here until Friday, so I was going to bring in a space heater to help a bit. Got one of the oil radiators out of storage and put it by the door in the sunroom last night. Walked right past it this morning, and didn't remember until The Wife sent me a text message when I was halfway to work already. I knew they'd need some heat this week, so I turned around and went back for it. The ladies upstairs were quite happy when I brought it in.

Sshhh ... hear that? It's the sound of no more political ads. A welcome respite.

Happy Birthday, Mrs. Mostly.

Drew I'm not so sure you bought the right tractor!!!
Steve, I think those old steam engines were like giant electric motors, huge amounts of torque at very low rpm,
not something you'd want to drive over your lawn.

Dealer came and looked at my tractors, said thank you for cleaning them up, said all looked fine.
Hardest part for me getting ready for him was the very last thing I did to a nice clean tractor, scrape off a very important
painted emblem to me. And I think she would be happy I'm getting a new one too.

said hello to a very tiny snake today, no bigger around than a pencil. Like a coiled spring, moved very quickly.

I felt like that last year scraping the OBX sticker off Lynn’s Edge.
