Good morning! 50˚ heading to 80˚ light SE winds.

All clocks except the thermostat clock are set back. I'll leave that one un-re-set because we don't use it.

Does anyone use their programable a thermostat or, do they do like us, and turn it up and down manually when needed?

Don, yes. At my home I used to live in. As many do, I like to sleep with the temp a bit cooler in the winter, so I'd set it at 67F for the night and sleep with nice blankets. At about 30 minutes before I had to wake up, I had it set to blast it up to 76F with the natural gas heat. I would THROW off the covers, getting hot and storm into the shower after letting the dog out.

What I was telling you Drew happened in 1980/81. By 2002 he had cancer in every body organ you can get that awful stuff in. A week before he died my dad asked doctors if he could go back to the beach one last time. Mother and I took him stopping every hour for dad to use the bathroom. Every morning we rolled him out in his wheelchair to the porch where he watched and listened to the sounds of the beach falling asleep numerous times. Once we returned home the next week he told us what a great time he had great life would not change a thing fell fast asleep and died peacefully in his sleep

Thank you for sharing with us...Do you still have the beach house in the family?

Hawkeye, which model? Me likey rugers (and many others). :)

Eric, looks like they used the cheap screws on yours. Do they know you enjoy firearms? You can get different types of stainless hardware. Over here the most easily obtained for small screws is 18-8 grade. Not sure about wood screw stainless grades...

Kyle after my dad died we took mother to the beach until she passed in 2005 and yes we still have it although we completely redid it in 2009 or so. It is really the only place we travel vacation at. My dad did live an amazing life from WWII to running a 35 million dollar a year company in the mid 80s. I am truly blessed and am glad I could share some of his story

That reminds me, Dad's neighbor's son claims he saw a mountain lion. They dont even have bears there, which would be more likely.

Good evening all. 53F for the start, overcast, calm wind. Wind was brisk through mid afternoon, sky became partly cloudy and high temp was 77F. Choir practice started the day, then to town to prep for DIL invasion (2 of wife sisters). After we got back nap and move fridge for stepdaughter and SILs showed up.
Buppies, neat story.
Don, programmable single thermostat. Use it for night and morning temp adjustments for both heating and cooling.
RNG yes I would rather have the daylight at the end of the day.
prayers for all.

good morning all.
Much warmer morning and day, thunderstorms coming this afternoon.
64 going to 82 today, back to shorts.
My houseguests finally got home last night after 10pm, confirming that it really did take a while to drive to the ocean from here, but they had fun.
Bet they are sleeping in this morning...but he is a dawdler and they didn't get off until noon. I would have left at 7am but different time clocks.
He and I have always been opposites on time, he's a night person and I'm a morning person.

Have been reading a serious of Kindle sci fi books about a Magistrate/lawyer who travels the various planets and solar systems dispensing justice, judge, jury and executioner if needed, with all kinds of different aliens who belong to a big confederation of planets. The lady lawyer/judge is as straight as Harry Bosch in that popular series, which I have to read next. Somewhat partial to lady lawyers since my Mother was one, though I haven't had the pleasure of meeting one representing an ex wife. I'm sure some of those lady lawyers have been burned in effigy many times...;)

WOW! It sure is warm this morning. 45 and the high will be 46F. Wind ESE 10 mph. Periods of rain.
From what the neighbours tell me, we only had 2 days of no rain in September. I do know that I had to work around the rain storms while I was up North.

A little in person banking to do this morning and then off to the hardware store for more liquid plumber. The first bottle didn't do it, so I will dump another one in there.

My cobbled together fuel pumping system didn't work the way I wanted it [I should have known better], so today I will remove that and 'bite the bullet' and get a proper system.

I priced out Keene work boots on Amazon.ca last night and I think I will stay with the Dickies I got last year. They want anywhere from $220.oo to $650.oo for high top 8"+/- steel toe and shank, CSA approved, green patch boots. I do have to get a pair of steel toed rubber sheep boots for the chloride season, but I will look into that nearer to spring. They gotta be CSA approved and green patch too.
The boots I've had for the past 25 years have either shrunk or my feet have grown. I can't get my feet into them anymore.

Have a good day all

I bet the middles have collapsed and expanded. Like me...

25 years and same boots. That's pretty amazing.
You should start a boot thread and see who is still using their boots the longest.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 51° with rain this morning. Heading to 52° with temperatures dropping throughout the day. No plans for today. Wife slept very well in her new bed.

RNG, I miss that hour of sunshine in the evening. Dod is sitting next to me begging. She is sure it's time to be fed. Not a hour from now. If they get rid of changing clocks twice a year. I want it to be daylight saving time.

Looking, I had a couple pair of green tag, steel toe, steel shank boots for my work at Canadian construction sites. My feet hurt just thinking about them. Part of my shop cleanup got rid of them.

Rick, same here. Need more money then a new full size 9mm.

Drew, we are waiting almost patiently for your tractor decision. :D

Prayers for all.

Good Morning All.

54 and mist going to 71 and storms.

Polls opened at 6am, I should have already gone, but have a few things to do here first. Long lines at the last election.

Even though we have had several frosts this fall, sunflowers are continuing to bloom in the field I planted in August. Looks pretty among the other autumn colors.

Eric, sorry your windows have bad screws. Sounds like a big job.

Good morning! 58˚ heading to 82˚ south wind. I hope to finish the rolling railing top on the fence project today and maybe go for a bike ride now that I remembered how to fill the tires. (You have to unscrew the top of the valve stem or no air will go in, da. Mostly would have laughed at me.)

Drew if you would have picked the right numbers on the lottery you would not be having any problem figuring out/justifying your next tractor purchase.

The missing (since Friday) Fedex package mysteriously appeared on my porch Sunday evening. Fedex delivery is closed on Sunday and denied any involvement. I'm guessing it was mis-delivered to a different house and this is a good neighborhood for honesty.

The package was a remote TV speaker with voice enhancement. It works great when one person in the family has perfect hearing and the other has bad hearing. It really make words clear coming from a flat screen TV. My wife also uses it when she is cooking in the kitchen and can see the TV in the living room.

The re-chargable li-ion battery last for about 8 years of daily recharging.
