Yesterday, we were in Roanoke and noticed both QuikTrip and Walmart had gas for $2.269 and since we needed gas, I filled the 2017 Escape at that Walmart. Today I needed gas in the 2012 Escape and Sam's Club, one of Denton's QuikTrip, AND the new Denton Buc-ee's had regular at $2.269, so I filled up at Buc-ee's.

I'm accustomed to seeing pumps with TWO hoses and nozzles; one for gasoline, one for diesel. But today I noticed that Buc-ee's fuel pumps have THREE hoses and nozzles. In addition to the diesel and gasoline with up to 10% ethanol, they have a third hose and nozzle for ethanol free gasoline at $3.499 a gallon. I guess if you're one of those who hates ethanol enough to pay an extra $1.20 a gallon for gas without it, it's handy.

The cakes are all edible, she taught herself, she also sews some very elaborate costumes. She uses a form of fondant that is softer and more pleasant to eat.

Got Ellen’s little building wired into the grid on Saturday, started the El Camino, cleaned up from Halloween and got some Thanksgiving stuff out. Gotta take the rest of the mums up soon.

Good evening. Wooden cakes, silicon rings and nun's farts - what varied tastes there are on here today !

That is a truly stunning cake Randy, more like a work of art. Too good to eat - well, almost.

No chance for me to get on here earlier in the day as I had to check on the sheep at first daylight and got back just in time for the arrival of a local joiner, who is also a friend, to help me sort out a mess.

A few weeks ago I noticed that the screws securing a window hinge had rust on the surface. That should have been impossible, as they were supposed to be stainless steel, as I had discussed with the people who made the windows a few years ago. When they were fitted they looked stainless, but I never thought to take one out and test it. Didn't think I needed to, as any company making windows from oak (to keep the planning department happy) would surely know that it corrodes ordinary carbon steel ? They knew, but evidently they didn't care.



Our windows are quite small, about a metre square (which seems an odd measurement for 18th century openings), but there are quite a few and each far too heavy for one person to handle. It has taken a full day to change the screws on the first 10 windows as almost all of them broke as soon as they caught sight of the screwdriver. Another year and those windows would almost certainly have been falling out of their frame. Hoping for another wind-less day tomorrow too as there are more to do, although thankfully those left are all at ground level.

Don't think any of us are ready to go yet, but when that time comes, wouldn't it be wonderful to be able to leave like Bup's dad.

OMG, Eric, I think I recognize those screws. Over here, they're used to install drywall, they're made as cheaply as possible, and yes, they're carbon steel. They rust easily, and break at the slightest hint of over torque. Were I you, I'd be having a rather stern conversation with whoever installed those things to hold up your heavy, and no doubt expensive, windows...:muttering:ullinghair:

We have the same screw here. SS screws can be had at just about any big box store. Even deck screws would be better.

Wife has her Sleep Number bed. Got the APP loaded on her iPad. She is ready to go to bed and try it out.

Ron, I don't know what model Sleep Number bed you have, but we had one (model number no longer made) that we bought many years ago. It was Great! But we failed to use a cover, as we should have, and eventually had some perspiration stains that we never found a way to remove. So two and a half years ago, we were by a new Sleep Number store and my wife convinced me (over my objections) to buy a new Sleep Number bed. Now, like a dummy, I failed to notice that the new one is not nearly as thick as the old one, and the next mistake I made was in throwing the old one away as soon as the new one arrived. So we now have a Queen Dual p5 that isn't nearly as good for my old back as the old Sleep Number bed was.

It's a full size P5. We still have our original Sleep Number. We purchased a extra protection cover for the old one and new one. Wife needs adjustable head and legs on the bed.
