I agree Toppop. Lot of Native Americans lived in that area, lot of history there.
Have been watching some Civil War history channel stuff on youtube, all these towns
in Virginia, Maryland, now full of historical markers documenting the battles in these woods and on this hill.
Lot of great, great grandparents never made it home. Might need another great in there...mine would have been Allens
out of New England somewhere.

Any of you that look up at the Rockies have some seriously mesmerizing views.
But as a water person, that view of David's in Paradise pushes all the right buttons for me.
And looking out over his pool, to the endless Pacific Ocean beyond, is both beautiful and humbling.
Lot of water out there...

Whipper had an adventure today.

After her morning walk she was sunning in the back yard.

Our neighbor was cleaning out his truck and some styrofoam blew up against the fence and was making an awful racket. I went to check up on her and she had vanished and all the gates were closed. She was only missing for 10 minutes so I figured I would jump in my truck and find her down the street. An hour later we called for reinforcements and had an neighborhood wide email sent out by the pet club that we are in. About an hour after that we starting getting calls. We got 4 calls in all of spottings but all the calls were about seeing her an hour earlier so when we searched those neighborhoods she had already moved on. The last call was a sighting 5 minutes old and we went to that location. it was a green belt with heavy brush. I called her name and dropped off my wife and took off around the block to catch her on the other side. My wife said before I turned the corner whipper came out of the brush. She went about 8 miles in all over creeks through woods and through two golf courses. It appears she went out and turned around and then just bypasses the house by a half mile. I drove for 6 hours looking for her. I'm really impressed with the neighborhood pet club on locating missing dogs. There have been several dogs gone missing since we moved here and all have been found on the same day they are reported missing.

These are a couple of proofs from Tail of The Dragon, taken by some guys that shoot every vehicle that runs it. My Borrego with sport suspension and 265/60/18 tires, actually handled it pretty well, lower profile tires would have helped.

Wiki definition of finishing school
"A finishing school is a school for young people that focuses on teaching social graces and upper-class cultural rites ..."

Kyle, most of the time we manage to keep clear of the upper-classes. When you bring your family over to visit, any schooling your young knight receives will more likely be fishing than finishing. :D

LOL. We are far from the wealthy elite. We are somewhere between the Beverly Hillbillies and Benny Hill.

Happy Birthday from Texas, Ellen!

Another close call with whipper going on the loose. Don, I'm glad you all found her.

Reading a book. Justinian's Flea by William Rosen. It's written at a very high level. Some of it is much easier to read than other parts, depending on things that interest you. You need to be a cartographer, religious historian, 4th,5th and 6th century historian/anthropologist, MD, epidemiologist, biologist.....the list goes on. My dentist loaned it to me. He's been to Turkey a few times. I told him with gauze in my mouth that "Turkey is surrounded by 7 very different countries...." And with that, he popped up and went and got this book. Some of our modern day laws, were first born under Roman rule. The Nicene creed was written when some argued about where Jesus stood in relation to God. It was written by 300 bishops that were called from all around the Mediterranean Roman empire, to the city of Nicaea in 325. Admittedly, I've never read much about Roman history, but now know a small pinch more about it.

Things are slow at work, but at least I was warned today of some "hot" jobs coming down the pipeline.

Larro, I honestly don't remember if I told you that I'm sorry about your damages, but glad you and yours are all right.

Good evening all. 56F for the start, clear sky, calm wind. Wind kicked up to 10-17 mph, sky remained mostly clear, and high temp was 82F. Choir practice to start the day and it went 1.5 hours instead of the usual 1 (Christmas prep has begun). Started to mow but had trouble seeing where I mowed, so changed to working on wood pile. Got chain saw work mostly done, still more slitting and break to length work. Nap then bike ride, ran out of time and energy for more fun :D
Did have TBN go down for a while, and had to retype the post.
Don't have the scenic water views but did have this view across the fairway.
Don good to hear you have so much help finding Whipper. Sounds like she was glad she found you
Nice pics every one :drink:
Drew, McDon head?
Prayers for all.

Good morning all, 43 going to 62 and sunny. Only plan for today is to help my wife baste a new quilt she is making for the boy. Basting a quilt is tacking the back, batting and top together so it can be quilted. She uses a tool very much like the stores use to attach price tags with the plastic I shaped things. Thanks for the pretty pictures everyone.

Don, glad Wipper is home, praying she will be more able to stay there.

Roy, prayers sent.

Ron & Betty, prayers sent.

LS, prayers sent.

Have a great day, prayers sent for all. Ed

24 and going to a high of 43F. Wind NW 11 mph. Sunny is the forecast.

A very thin skiff of snow last night. The two inches of snow we got over the past 2 days will melt. The only place we removed it was on the deck and front steps.

I gotta take the D.I.L to the vampire for blood work this morning and a quickie trip to town for some stuff.

The price of regular gasoline was the lowest I've seen since last spring; $1.249/L or $4.72/US Gallon CDN.

I am searching for a way to get rid of the kitchen sink water that is easier than replacing 50' of 3" PVC pipe. In spring I may opt for a dry well, but that does me no good right now. I will continue searching.

Have a good day all
