Windy here, too. 47 going to 62.
I need one more stove pipe, a slip connector, and TSC's website said they had some. So we went to town, me to gym, wife to grocery store, then together to TSC...they had just one...bent up pretty badly, especially in the critical places, and a "Reduced 25%" sticker on it. No way you could straighten it and use it...it was just trash. Young guy working there said they had 3, between vapes at the register, but could not find them, and no one would call another store.
Found a mouse nest on top of my generator out in the shed yesterday...a real pretty one...chewed or scratched off the white liner from the inside of the vinyl cover...so it looked like snow. Set traps so I can tell the mouse how nice a job she did, and how the holes in the cover have added such a nice improvement. Decided to put traps under the house, too. Looking forward to a "trapline hike" this morning. I just read the "Keeping your hood up to prevent rodent damage" thread and will go put the hoods (bonnets) up on the tractor and zero turn this morning, too.
I read an interesting article yesterday how high fox populations reduce lyme disease in an area...theory is not as much that the foxes catch the rodent vectors, but that the foxes keep rodents underground longer, so they don't spread the disease as much. Said that high coyote populations disrupt this process, since they run off the foxes, and don't frequently rehunt the same smaller area like a fox.
