Good Morning!!!! 56F @ 5:15AM. Partly cloudy. Slight chance of a rain shower. High 71F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph.
Opened the doors to get some fresh air in the house a few minutes ago, but it's cool enough outside and blowing hard enough I think I'll have to close 'em again. Brrrr!
I've had CRS since I was in my teens, Don. Now that I'm older, I can appreciate doing so many things again for the first time!
The new A/C ducts in the van obscured the relay I'd installed for the horns, and since I couldn't remember putting one in or not (see, CRS again!) I pulled out my notes. Sure enough, there was the wiring diagram I'd made at the time, and after pulling out the duct, there was the relay. But with the dash in place, it was almost impossible to get to, so I moved it to a better location under the dash, then rewired it. Horn still wouldn't work. Turns out that the horn button in the steering wheel wasn't getting to ground, and I had to do some research online to find the tiny spade terminal where it hooked up. That fixed it, and the new Hella horns are Hella LOUD!

I also found the windshield wiper arms, but not the hardware for attaching them. Thought that would be a simple job, but it looks like I'll be doing some scavenging this morning. Probably should go through all the boxes of parts and organize them better anyway.:confused3: I did find a set of snazzy electric blue anodized valve stem caps, and had absolutely no trouble installing them, so the day finished on a positive note.:dance1:
I was waiting on a phone call from the bumper guy yesterday, so was answering the phone. Usually I just let it go to voicemail, as almost all my calls are either somebody selling something or swindles. So I was laying on my back under the van dash yesterday and the phone rang. Got up and answered by the third ring, but it was some lady wanting to sell me something. I politely requested she put me on the "don't call" list and hung up. Got back under the dash and the phone rings again. Got to it after two and a half rings. Must be getting better at it. It was the SAME LADY! I asked if she hadn't heard me request the don't call list, and she told me she just wanted to verify that this other number was mine, also.:confused2: An hour later that phone rings again, but this time I was standing right next to it. It was a robocall telling me that my Apple iCloud account had been compromised, and to push 1 for assistance. I know that Apple NEVER calls with that kind of info, so I hung up. A little after that I got a text message from the bumper guy that the van bumpers will ship Monday, so I stopped answering phone calls. The Apple scammer tried twice more, and this time I got a recorded copy of the spiel, including a call back number. When I googled that, I confirmed it was a known scam. Be careful out there, gang. There are lots of people that will steal you blind just as close as the Internet or your telephone.
