Sitting here waiting for the storm to pass so I can finish mowing, had about 20 minutes to go. I tried to keep going but the lightening was way too close.

Looks like we are about to get a big rain here. The storm is red with just a little yellow headed our way. Took the dog out so it won't have to go while it is raining. Made a thumb wheel for the tool holder on my lathe. 1 1/4 round with knurling and a 10 mm threaded hole in the middle. Simple small project that I could not make before. :)

300, sorry about your friend.

Have a good evening. Ed

Good evening all. 74F for the start, overcast, calm wind. Wind stayed light with the odd moderate gust, sky cleared to partly cloudy until about 2PM then clouds started to build here had short rain about 6 less than .1 inch. High temp was 91F. Tomorrow is the last day for widespread rain, a little drying out hopefully, Indian creek is running once more. Bike ride this morning, had planned on trip to Sherman, wife cancelled it. After lunch, she took a nap, I too the boat out for a short fam ride. Worked on what switch does what, live-wells have a switch at the bow that overrides the switch on the driver's console.
Irv sorry about your friend, my condolences.
David good to see you made it to Davids, didn't recognize the beard right away
Don, have fun at your Dance, and don't step on the Mrs toes. Don't ask me how I know:ashamed:
Steve nice pics
Prayers for all.

Hopefully the last day of heat for a while 91 again yesterday

Good morning all. A blanket of wet gray sky to start the day and it's set to be with us all day long. No wonder the sheep looked at me with puzzled expressions when I went out to top up their water trough last night.

Irv, sorry to hear of the loss of your good friend.

MFW, from beavering away at dam repairs, posing by David's poolside and on to snorkelling in paradise - you really are enjoying your time by the water this year

Good morning all, 66 this morning going to 74 with a 50% chance of showers. Radar looks like we will get some rain soon to add to the .61 we got yesterday. Not sure what I will do today, will see.

Eric, makes you feel funny when dumb sheep know more than you don't it. My cows were the same way.

David, glad you and yours are having fun.

Have a great day, prayers sent. Ed

Storms all around but missed us. 71 going to only 78 and cloudy. Maybe rain later.

Irv, sounds like a great loss to you and many others.

Cool having two Davids in Hawaii.

Don, a good fast fast slow slow morning to you.

Great cars B7510...I like the T-Bird.

Roasted coffee, mowed a couple of acres and went to the "Hatch Chile festival" at the grocery store...we had chile cheese, chile bread, chile cookie, chile pizza, and crab stuffed chiles, as well as picking out some nice ones to roast at home. They had chile beer, but no chile chili this year. They were roasting them on the sidewalk and it smelled so good.

51 right now...high in the low 60's today...

The Del McCoury concert was, as expected, great! For a 75 year old man, he can surely punch out a song and still can hit those high notes (I can't do that anymore). His group, with the exception of the bassist, has been together 20some years...

Plan today is a trip to Mount Washington which, I believe, is the tallest peak in the NE. It's also the location of the highest recorded winds ever recorded...IIRC, it was in 1937 and the wind speed was 232 MPH.

Well, wifey isn't feeling too good...so, Mt. Washington trip may be postponed...I'll know in about an hour. If that happens, the plans will be a dump run and a trip to Montpelier to pick up a loader mounted snow blade (Deere AF11E, 84").

I'm looking forward to hearing about Don's dancing adventures.

cloudy hot day with rain coming in tonight, or possibly earlier.
Am going to do a little shed painting this morning, latex will dry fast enough in the heat.
Otherwise lawn is all mowed, got the fruit orchard, all my shrubs and evergreens sprayed with the orchard sprayer
yesterday so big jobs done on my list. Long list...nice to have some dry weather to get certain things done, hard to do a bunch of things when it thunderstorms every afternoon.

Insulated live wells make great beverage coolers Mostly.
Just dump a couple bags of ice in there and you can cut down on a cooler sliding around.
Being out on the water sounds wonderful.

Am planning on heading up North end of next week and that seems to put me in the path of a hurricane.
Not leaving until Wednesday, will know by then if I should stay home.

Billy, sure wish I could eat those chiles, acid reflux says no no no.
Oh to have an iron stomach. Crab stuffed chiles sounds great.

RoyJackson; Plan today is a trip to Mount Washington which said:
And you too can put an I've Climbed Mount Washington bumper sticker on your car too......
Avoiding that, a fun trip, did it once.

Poured First cup of coffee. 58° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 68° with partly cloudy skies. Fields look good after being cut every 3 weeks all summer. Each cutting I have adjusted Flail Mower to get cutting height to about 3". If I would cut it every week I would look like a lawn. But waiting 3 weeks has the clippings about 8". This leaves lots of chopped up grass clippings on the top. Sams Club trip this morning. Then cut and trim lawn around house.

Randy and Eric, hope your eyes continue getting better.

Roy, I remember our family summer vacation to Mt Washington area in the 50's. Great area for a family Vacation. Went back again with oldest son in late 60's. Should do it again.

Do we really need a video of Don's dancing. :D

Good Morning All.

Thunderstorms all night, Gracie barking at the big bangs. .62 “ so far. A cool day in the 70s with NE winds.
Dog sitting Ellen’s kids chihuahua.
I call it a near dog experience.
Have a good day folks. David MFW, watch out for Jaws!

71 outside this AM. Heading to higher 70's today. North of me got pounded last night. Made for a nice relaxing evening on the second floor porch watching the light show.

Worked on that run-in a little yesterday. Was the worst day of the that heat wave IMHO, since there was zero breeze down there. Still have not gotten to the metal. Made some adjustments for load bearing and sunk a few larger screws here and there. Looks like I missed my estimate on some wood, so back to the hardware store I go. I forgot to tell you they finally got my screws right. Now I have 500 metal screws that I will never use. Wanted to return them, they said keep them. Oh well.

Hope all are on the mends, have a great day, be safe!

If the models are correct then NC would take a direct hit from the old Florence girl still a ways out and lots of fine tuning but the euro has been right so far after being off on everything else

ITV sorry about your friend

Prayers for all in need

Good morning! I heard rain last night! a cool 72˚ this morning and it's only suppose to get to 85˚ with more scattered light rain.

Dancing was in the neighborhood grand ballroom with the crystal ball giving off moving flickers of light on the wooden dance floor. The CW Band had keyboard, guitar, violin, drums and a female and male singer. They played all the popular CW songs. I haven't dance this much since my wedding day. I could hear the beats of quick, quick slow, slow, on the country two-step songs and I think I only step on toes once or twice after turns. We tried one polka, or was it a waltz, with a made up dance but realized we still haven't covered that dance in class and might want to use those songs as "drinking songs".

Only soda was sold but BYOB is allowed so this was like most CW dances I went to in the past but with no cigarette smoke, pleasant. I did not see anyone drunk, but did see one person having trouble dancing but after closer observation realized she really did have a medical condition. The average age for Sun City is 73, I did see some guest that looked 30 and some older couples that looked 80 but I'm guessing the average age was 60-65.

Line dancing was in the during the band's break. We did not attempt it. Line dancing looked like fun and they do offer classes so that will be another class for us in the fall. I still don't know why during the cotton-eyed-joe yelling "********" makes people laugh.

These old people are good dancers and we saw all levels of dancers so we did not feel intimidated. We saw several other people from our beginners two-step dance class that were dancing the same level we were. One older couple almost flew around the dance floor and looked like ballroom dancers, they were good. There were about 300 people in attendance.

There is a Halloween Dance in October but all the ticket were sold. However a couple at our table, who also wanted to go, remembered seeing an add on the community bulletin board someone wanting to sell 4 of their tickets. We contacted the seller split the tickets and now we have scheduled another dance to attend - with costumes, oh my.

Today is a "New Experience" day as Pickle Ball lessons are on the agenda after a bike ride.

This retirement Disneyland is like being on a cruise ship with things to do limited only by how much you want to squeeze into a day.

As soon as I can find their tractor hide out everything will be complete. But that can be a winter job when the afternoon temps only get to 60˚ - haven't seen any with AC cabs like Rick's and Drew's.

Maybe in two years I can get Drew to move down with his tractor to share mowing the common areas. There are lots of single activities to meet people.

Getting a little better each day but this virus has screwed up my sleep patterns.
Eye is less swollen and the rash is a nice ugly black. I can’t go to visit mom for another week at least. I don’t recommend shingles as a pastime!
