Good morning!!!!

Good morning (evening), I have to get back to a morning schedule.... Anyway, low of 48°, went up to 86°, then a quick t-storm developed dropping the temp down to 68°. I actually got chilled. Quick storm, poured 0.3" along with some pea sized hail. Not enough to cover the ground like before. Sprinkling about once an hour since then, only a few minutes at a time. Grass is actually starting to grow...might have to cut it in another week (LOL)... Will be only the second time this summer.

Well, I got really mad while at the taxation bureau....they had no record of the properties/improvements being corrected. Got hold of the assessor' office manager who haphazardly "remembered" the issue. She said: "yes, everything has been corrected, I just need to send that information over to the taxation dept." I maintained my cool and asked her why it has been ongoing since May 11th, and since I first brought it to her attention on June 15th? She said "it just has to go through so many departments to be verified". I asked her: "to verify what? The county's screw-up? She got on it right away....still going to take a week to a week and a half before they have the paperwork in order. I WANT TO GET A JOB LIKE THIS!....

Ed, congrats on your lathe find. Post some pics.

Wing, Hope Coco does ok and that your not affected.

Drew, you must be bored silly now that the garden is slowing down....I know you must be thinking of the next project....

Hey...guess what...HUMP DAY! WooHoo!

Hey...guess what...HUMP DAY! WooHoo!

My tax assessor is a member of our church. But he only comes maybe 10% of the time.

I must've mowed down some poison ivy or something in the back of the property. It started around my right wrist and is spreading. I tried scrubbing with some old tecnu. To no avail. Last time I had to take prednisone steroids.... Prolly have to go to the doc.

A/C still out at work. I had to kind of manage a new guy the contract company sent to work on it. After all day in the sun, on a white plastic covered roof, he says the 3 phase contacts are bad....Not sure what to believe. A guy supposedly put some new ones in the day before.

Good evening all. 75F this morning, partly cloudy, light wind. Wind came up quick this morning, sky cleared off and high temp was 96F. Men's meeting this morning, bike ride, and trip to town for paper work, mower gas and gas for truck and quick grocery hit.
Don nice boots.
Buckeye, let me guess, the car is rated for 10% max alcohol and not running well. Can you get E0?
Bird the grass here has gone bonkers on 3 days rain.
Ed congrats on the lathe, have fun with it :drink:
Billie, hope Coco does well with the Lyme's recovery and you don't get it.
Prayers for all

Rain has been coming down nice and steady all night, just what we needed to encourage the grass to put on some new growth. Today should be dry and warm with some cloud cover, perfect as the grand kids are on their way over and will able to get out to play in the garden by the afternoon.

My wife needs some advise and I've told her that I'm sure some of you will be able to help. This is the first time she has grown sweet corn and she would like to know how you can tell when it is at it's best for picking.

Ed, Isn't it great when things work out better than you ever hoped. You should send a thank you note to that company that didn't fulfil your order :D

Buppies, same here, up at 3am, couldn't get back to sleep, making mental lists in head for helper today, now sitting at computer typing the lists out. Should be a nice hot summer day here without rain.

Going to yank out azalea bushes this morning and replant with roses and then trim along the edges of the property using the pole saw and FEL man bucket. Then I am likely to start painting the gazebo this afternoon. LS, bored and me usually don't exist in the same sentence...;)

hope you all have a good day.
Eric, I'd try one now, tassels likely could get a little darker but that ear looks pretty good sized.
Time for some quality control.

Another hot and humid day here with more rain in the forecast. I tried mowing yesterday as the grass is getting knee high with all this rain. Ground is so wet the tractor is just making ruts and mud holes. Need to dry out.

Good morning all, 65 going to 89 with a 20% chance of T-storms. Not much planed for today. Yesterday ended up running errands here there and everywhere. Boy still not over me leaving to get the lathe. "Daddy" is not supposed to go anywhere, that comes from getting dumped off in a "home" when he was 8.

Eric, I do believe it worked out for the best, This is twice the lathe as the one I ordered. With the corn the silk will be all dead and when you gently squeeze the ear you feel like there is some size in there. When you do pick squeeze the ear and then check to see what you felt so you know.

Have a great day, prayers on the way. Ed
