The low was 45° this morning, we did get some rain like LS yesterday about one drop every 8 inches. Looks like today is going to be the same as yesterday in the mid 80's and 20% chance of showers. They have put out a fire weather warning for today.

Sand hill Cranes are getting braver. They were at backdoor today. But decided to leave when I started to talking to wife.

Our windows make a big thump when a hummingbird hits them. I hope sand hill cranes know they can’t fly through glass.

Can one do everything on the metal lathe with wood that you can do on a wood lathe?

My lathe came with all the tools to do wood working. But I have never done it. I have made many items out of plastic. But that is machined similar to metal.

I've seen kits with chisels and tool rests and face plates, so I assume so.

Mine is covered in lubricant and the pan is always full of metal chips, and it would be a pretty big PITA to clean it all up so the sawdust wouldn't stick to everything, though.:laughing:

Just finished mowing this thick wet stuff, third time in 8 days. Humidity is back today.

And it was so dry for so long, and then rain for 6 days in a row, that I haven't done any mowing at all in almost a month (July 18), and now it's in dire need of mowing, so I figure on starting about daylight in the morning. I do the string trimming and edging first. And the NWS says to expect 78 degrees going for 97 tomorrow, so I hope to get done by the time it gets to 90 degrees. Or I might do the string trimming and edging on our yard and the one next door tomorrow and maybe wait another day before using the mower.:laughing:
