I see lots of streets reported flooded in N VA near wolftrap. No rain on radar. We got rain in early morning.
My upstairs AC not working. My geo unit. Fan runs, compressor not. One reason to have multiple units.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!

Today I was awakened by Brogen coming up the stairs at 4:15AM (a little early). It was a quick walk around the apple trees in the dark for him to do his business. Then back to sleep for him, but not for me. 58コF and humid. The Bermuda High will generate lot's of humidity, warmth, rain showers and T-Storms most of the remainder of the week for most of the East Coast with possible 1.5"'s more of rain for around here. The predicted weather will provide good test of my cellar foundation repair with hydraulic cement, the cellar roof with a new (for me) roof leak repair compound- "Through the Roof" by sashco, and whether or not I pounded down the south facing flashing sufficiently to stop wind driven rain.

RNG- Great catch. I agree about the cat litter The dogs always seemed to want to help with kitty poo cleanup and their breath was always mint fresh. Cats also always caught and brought home the less common species of songbirds for my "benefit" of easy identification.:( I run a mousey trapline here in the house during the Winter. My traps are well used. ;) The fires out your way are scary. I hope that you remain out of harm's way and David and Sophie.

Ron- That is good news. I hope your arm function improves.

"I didn't notice any leaks. Will probably get a good testing today.- Billy Good luck with your roof leaks. My cellar (low slope) roof repair shed last week's ~4" of rain successfully. This "Through the Roof" compound is a viscous/clear highly flammable product. I brushed it on the cracked and fissured roll roofing. The rubber roof patch that I had previously laid down over the roof cracks was still working. I prefer working with the new product. It looks like it can be squeegeed over roofing material and probably vertical cement foundations as well.

"Darwin suggested that stupidity will die out but it seems to be a really long process...;)"- Drew I agree. Until the recent rains we were in a near drought situation here. The soil around here is still saturated.

BEF- I hope you get your A/C running soon.

We are traveling up to Bennington, VT to have lunch with an old friend with whom we have not seen in many years. I believe that we are going to the "Madison Brew Pub." Great food. I've never sampled their beer; maybe this time. The timing is not the greatest due to the weather, but driving in rain never bothered me. It's a pretty drive and not much farther to travel than our norm.

I hope that everyone has a manageable Wednesday.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

The low was 48* , yesterday was was in the mid 80's. Today is starting out overcast and a light wind. It's going to be back in the mid 80's with a 20% chance of showers this afternoon.

Come to find out they don't make replacement parts for old trailer beaks. You have to buy a new hub and backing plate and have that welded on or buy a new axle. Going to look in to that today and see what is the easiest way to go.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

I checked my camper the other day during a downpour, and my roof repair with caulk is working. Still need to order the right stuff and redo it.

81 with heat index of 88 at 9:30, going to a high of 88 today. They were saying an 80% chance of rain today, but now lowered it to 10%. I guess I’d better mow today as there is an 80-90% chance the rest of the week.

Tomorrow will mark my 66th trip around the sun, it’s been an eventful year, my building with most of my equipment burned, my mom had to go the nursing home, and I lost my wife of 42 years. That loss is never far from my thoughts.
I have a new relationship and we have a lot of fun together, it’s helped us both a lot, but neither of us would hesitate to go back today if such things were possible.

Water rescues on my road now. Guess people cannot read the big orange sign in the middle of the road. If your going downhill in water what do you expect at the bottom?

I never ceased to be amazed at the things some people will do. One night, after midnight, in the mid-60s we had heavy rains and flooding in Dallas. Marsh Lane had a stretch under water at a creek. Of course I was a patrolman on the police department at that time, Marsh Lane was 3 lanes each direction (north and south bound), it was pouring heavy rain, so I was in the northbound center lane with my squad car facing south into traffic if there'd been any. I had my red lights going on top and my headlights on, etc. But with heavy rain, and almost no traffic, I stayed in the car waiting for the street department to bring barricades. And sure enough here came a car northbound, didn't even slow down as he went by me. But he did get stopped quickly enough when he hit the water that he was able to back out and turn around. He drove up beside the squad car again, rolled down his window and yelled, "Officer did you know the street is under water at the creek?"

Idiot: “Officer did you know the street is under water at the creek?"

Bird: “No but ..... if you hum a few bars, I try to join right in.”

For stupidity to die out, we need to remove the warning labels and let nature take its course.

CWB, etrailer.com has a bunch of trailer brake parts, you might contact them (if you haven't already) and see if they have some ideas... My Dad recently had some brake issues on his almost new toy hauler. To get it fixed without more trips to shop, he had a bunch of stuff replaced, brake controller in truck (was older unit he liked, but was not current technology), brake switch in truck, and all 4 backing plates with full brake setups. He had them reuse the drums and bearings (cleaned and inspected bearings, repacked bearings and installed new seals). His brakes work the way they are supposed to now.

One of my daughters was fixing up a small utility trailer for her sister to use camping (hauling all the stuff that does not fit in van) and had trouble getting bearings and seals, decided to replace axle with hubs with Dexter common axle so parts will be available later when needed.

We have cooler temps in forecast, 80s instead of high 90s, it will be welcome relief.

Stay safe, prayers for all that need them, including safety with all the fires this year.
