Good Morning!!!! 80F @ 5:00 AM. Sunny. High 104F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.
At least you remembered to put something on your nose, Drew. Easy to mix up medications when there are too many around. DAMHIKT!:confused2:
It was 84 inside the house when I turned on the A/C yesterday, Eric, and about 4:30 in the afternoon. According to the Davis weather station outside, the low last night was 79.3F, and that A/C has been running all night. Temps down in the 60s again would be very nice indeed, but we might have to wait several months for them to return from wherever they’ve gone.

Yesterday’s high was 105.5F:shocked:
I thought the engine on the BMW I’m working on was dirty until I took the transmisson down yesterday and got a look at it. It had been sent out for reconditioning, but the case on it was absolutely FILTHY! The oil on it was baked on hard, and I spent four hours cleaning just one side of it. My fingers are so stiff this morning my touch typing isn’t coming out the way it should. I’ve been accumulating the special tools needed to take one apart, and was fed up enough to take out the last piece I need and finish it so I can take this one apart and throw the carcass into the bead blaster. Years ago I’d saved off the URLs for a series of seven videos on taking one apart, reconditioning the parts, and putting it back together, but only started watching them last night. Despite all the mystery the pro mechanics try to generate, there’s nothing special in there, or very complicated, either. The parts are expensive if gears or shafts need replacing, but supposedly all that has been taken care of on this one. I suppose I’ll see for myself once I have it apart...
Hang in there, folks, Friday’s comin’!
Here’s something you don’t see every day:
Four mountain lions on your porch. I’ve seen tracks in the driveway dust here, and heard them mewling in the night as they hunt, but not seeing them I think is better than this. These four have no fear at all of man, and that’s just plain unhealthy. At least this gang is in Colorado...
