So, Eric, how does your wife say shut the door in Yorkshire.:D

Hot today but maybe a shower by this evening. Just went by Mom's and got her groceries for a week, a 3.5 hour drive round trip.

My daughter in law that moved here from Sheffield says, "the door isn't like your ****, it doesn't shut by itself'.

If you water those rows, Drew, Will the spuds left in the ground sprout and give you a second crop?

I have no idea. Possible but weed control would be impossible now that plants/potatoes have been moved out of the rows

I didn't get as close as I had hoped for. Am hoping older blue potato will be less purple and I can substitute a Yukon Gold for a lighter gold.
No plain old white potatoes. Potatoes of color are clearly in.
Wonder what country has a flag with red, yellow and purple in it? I got your potatoes...

I thought about my Father while I was working in the garden. It was his favorite thing to do. Detoxing from torts and briefs.
Always with blue jeans and a torn white shirt which had finally wore out from wearing it to the office many hundreds of times.
By the time it had worn out from job number one, that old white shirt was just as soft and comfortable as can be for Saturday morning work.

Had a fleeting thought to finish and paint the Sheetrock. Thankfully, I took a deep breath, paused, and it passed. Gotta leave something for the next owner.

Nice looking taters, Drew. I’m guessing your purple one is different from ours which tend to be more elongated and white on the outside. Okinawan

Looks like you had your drywall tools all ready. Btw, what is the cost of a 8 ft drywall sheet?

Our Grand Daughter and her 菟osse are coming out to the Ranch next weekend, to celebrate her 16th Birthday. So, between rain storms, I致e got to get everything ready this

Sounds like fun times ahead and you are the cruise director. Hope all goes smoothly and your excitement is contagious. If you have ever been to the Lost Pines Hyatt in Bastrop, well that would be your place. Except one more thing, outdoor movie with popcorn!

Actually thought of similar Don. I’ve got a InFocus projector and we’ve thought about some Lost Creek Ranch Patio Movies. White sheet stretched over a 4x8 sheet of plywood. Pop corn ...... of course. Kinda depends on weather. That’s planned for Saturday night along with hot dogs, roasted over the fire pit, and S’mores after the movies. Friday night will be bonfire, in the pasture by the big tank, and sky lanterns ..... if burn bans go away.

They’ve all been at Pine Cove Camp (North of Columbus) last week, got home yesterday and think they all slept round the clock, getting up this afternoon.

Pine Cove is great, Maddie’s been going since third grade. Lots of activities and cell phones not allowed. She loves her week there every year.

I can't quite top that....yet....give me a few more years. :)

I heard it put this way from an old boss about a co-worker that lived single in an apartment. He went to do a wellness check and when he returned he said "You couldn't put a thin dime on edge anywhere on any countertop."

Made another batch of homemade spaghetti sauce with fresh home grown tomatoes and onions. Only the spices were store bought. I put in the correct amounts of basil, parsley and such this time. It is sooooo good. Told the wifey that if the teenage girls show up hungry, to give them the Hunt's sauce out of the can... :)

Winding down, preparing my mind for another busy work week. Have multiple projects and just 1 me. Makes the time flyby though.

We have not received any of the hit or miss rains going on around us. :( But it has cooled down. 83F here and 92F in Dayton Ohio where my friend moved to.

Good evening all. Got home yesterday from Kansas, decided to skip Katy trail because of forecast rain. 76F this morning, partly cloudy, light wind. High temp of 96F, moderate wind partly sunny with building "Q". Choir sang this morning, finished unpacking from bike trip, no flats, 550 miles, 1 bad wind day. Wife is enjoying early return for some reason :). Found 1 ball in front yard, returned one ball from back yard. Back to dog sitting, step daughter working out of town again. Will catch up in the next few days, 3 days no service, crowded wifi made keep up difficult and unrewarding.
Prayers for all.

So humid here you could cut the air with a knife. 78 currently. Was 95 today. IMG_1402.JPG

New game. Find the crops.

Told you I was about to loose the garden. Not as bad now. Wife run tiller between rows yesterday when we got back from the fish fry. I hoed about 15 minutes this morning. Then too hot. Still several hours of hoeing. Thought I had more pictures. Guess not.

Dad’s tractor is back from the shop. Clutch went out on it. Or so we thought. Shop broke it down and found a fork broke off the pressure plate. Clutch had 700 hours on it. So went ahead with replacement clutch as the cost is in the labor. Back to hay cutting tomorrow. After trip to funeral home.

Chickens are all here and settled in. Last of curtains are supposed to be in this week. Be nice to have them all working again. If not I’m going to light asses. Light duty or not. I still know how to make a sailor blush. Did find out it’s the bosses fault. He swiped curtains and didn’t reorder them. They had my name on them with my order number. So he knew.

Happy Fathers Day to all.

Rain kept bypassing us today too Kyle. 77 degrees now and very pleasant sitting out on east porch with a Jack Daniels and great cigar. Maybe rain tomorrow..... fingers crossed. Need to get burn bans lifted before next weekend.

Spent my day on business end of pressure washer cleaning porches and patios. I bought one of those 16” rotary floor cleaners that hooks up to my pressure washer a couple of years ago. It really speeds up concrete cleaning. It’s kinda like the floor buffers we got to use in basic training.

Hope everyone has a great week!
