Good Morning!!!! 58F @ 4:15AM. Sunny. High 81F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Glad the well repair went, er, well, Thomas. Nothing like using the right tools for the job.

Are you all unpacked as well, Don? Now THAT would be phenomenal! Did your Kubota go to the new owners as well? Hope there's not too much red tape involved with your soon-to-be volunteer tractor job.:confused2:

You've got a little less than a month to come up with a Yankee Doodle potato head, Drew.

Heard on the news the other day that our Governor Moonbeam signed a new law limiting household water use to 50 gallons a day starting in 2022. Supposedly it applies only to water use inside the home. Hmmm, wonder how they're gonna tell which faucets the water comes out of, cause in the summer, most domestic water use goes to irrigating the lawn and landscaping? The new law bodes poorly for those of us on well and septic as well, as I can see requirements for meters with remote readers on our equipment, paid for by us, of course, though that hasn't been announced (yet). I wonder what it'll take to wake people up and clean house down in Sacramento? Every year, government becomes more invasive and costly, and more and more people leave the state. When all the wage earners and retirees are gone, who's gonna pay for all these fancy new programs? All the homeless people that are moving here?

Up for an early start to Kernville, some 450 miles on mostly quiet two lane country roads. Should be a nice day for it, with light winds and highs in the mid 80s. Be nice to see some places I haven't been to in a while, and meet up with friends I don't get to spend enough time with.

The Friday will find me in Camp Nelson, and last year there was no cell service there. Don't be surprised if I don't check in for a while...

Partly cloudy 76 going to 91 F today.

Upstairs AC still not fixed. Received the new Thermal Expansion Valve yesterday. Will have it put in soon. Meanwhile every afternoon I have to climb up to the attic, put my butane torch I normally use for Creme Brulee on the bulb to trick the valve to open then turn on the AC. As long as the AC runs, the valve stays open but once it reaches the cool temperature and turn itself off, I have to do it again so I set the temperature really low and get it to run down cool enough for the night.

I hope my lady likes Medjool date palms. I've planted 30 of them in my yard. Will be planting 10 more in the next week or so. BTW I sprouted them from two boxes of dates I bought from Sam's Club. The dates were tasty so I thought I would try germinating them. I since then learn that while they grow well in my area, their fruits get spoiled in the humidity so I won't be getting any dates. No matter though, I'd be happy just getting the palm trees.

RedNeckGeek,
I love the weather in California but can't stand the political climate. In one of my visit there I wore a camo shirt and was screamed at and called a war monger by several people on the street. 7 of my relative families have moved from Los Angeles area in California to Texas. More and more of them are doing the same.

Good morning to all! Warm night last night, only went down to mid 60's. Going up to 92. Slight chance of an isolated shower (20%) on Sunday.

Son has been evacuated, he and the DIL are staying with a co-worker. He's glad he thought ahead and got all their "important stuff" into a storage unit yesterday. He sent a video late last night....the fire was coming down the ridge towards them. He took pictures of everything left behind.

The third day back to work was the hardest, knee was swollen, pain increased by the time I got home. Not too bad this morning though. Have 1 more day (tomorrow) to go in, then off for a few. Should be able to recover in time to do it over next week.

Glad to hear that everyone needing things fixed are getting the upper hand without too many complications. :)

Don, hope your unpacking and completion of the move continues to go smoothly. My wife has repeatedly told me the next time we move, we're only taking what we can fit in a van....(of course that doesn't include my shop). Good luck in your new adventures!:drink:

Everyone have a great day. Prayers out to all!

69°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 94° today.

Glad you got your water line fixed, Thomas. No water is definitely no good. Put a little extra butter on your e-muffin today.

Always nice when a move goes smoothly, Don. Congrats again.

We still have that skunk hiding in our barn, Buppies. He's not been bothering us, and doesn't seem to be harassing the chickens, but he sure does stink the place up. He's been smart about avoiding the live trap so far, so we may have to force him out. Not looking forward to that prospect.

Living in Illinois, I feel your pain regarding irresponsible state government, RNG. It's not easy being a right-thinking person with a wrong-thinking government.

Have fun on the golf course, BEF.

Oh great, we have thought of another creature to bite us.:D

Last day on the big place ready to do the serious downsize. 99% moved. Whipper chased cows on demand for the last time last night. Too bad she does not understand I want to explain it to her. Gray two walked into the empty house last night and did several double takes and finally laid down right where he always laid on the floor where the ottoman used to be.

The moving company's 3 bucks did a fantastic job. I knew I could relax when they padded the door way and then tied quilts and plastic wrap around each piece of furniture. They had our stuff moved in 6 hours and that included 1.5 hours driving time. A very stress free move. If anyone in Central Texas is making a move Einstein Moving company out of Austin is the one to use.

On this last half day we will make the place sparkle again like we did for the showing and leave a few goodies for the new owners - beer, flowers, and an antique bottle I found on the place here. It's a coke-a-cola bottle (bottled in Giddings Texas) with Giddings engraved in the glass.

Then we start on our new adventure. . . .

I can visualize a patriotic potato salad for a July 4th picnic . . .

Don, best of luck with this next chapter to your life. Trust you will stay in touch?

Prayers for all in need..

Don, glad your move went well, my best move was when I started my job first out of college, company paid "new hire move". They came in and packed everything very well, labelled boxes, etc. When I had my new place, they came and unpacked it all and took away all the packing.. very easy. I had a car load of stuff that I brought with me (Phoenix, AZ to Spokane, WA)..

Last Saturday, we planted some trees that our daughter brought us from their new property. I was on and off the tractor a hundred times what with spraying in the morning and planting the trees in the afternoon. My right knee swelled up some and was painful. I have not had knee problems so was a bit concerned.. All good Sunday morning though and feels fine still now.

Beautiful morning, air is crisp, weekend has some rain forecast, wife suggested I work on repacking wheel bearings on travel trailer in preparation for camping trip coming up...

We are cleaning out the garage again this week, and The Wife and I had a conversation last night about all of our camping gear. It's been sitting unused for several years now, just taking up shelf space. We decided to get rid of it all, agreeing that if we are to start camping/canoeing again, we'll get a camper trailer. No more tents/air mattresses/sleeping bags for us.

67°F and.13 inches rain
Think I finally got the pull behind sprayer fixed. The replacement pump has those Oring type fittings with the slide keeper which we managed to crack the keeper collar causing it to leak. Even though I bought another pump, just reluctant to give up on a pump with just a few hours use, but I didn’t want to pay almost as much for replacement assembly as the pump. jB Weld to the rescue. Looks like my epoxy mend is holding. As a bonus I replaced the ‘always flat’ tires with never flats that I saved from something.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Don't know what happened on golf course, we won either 1st or 2nd place, so got a dozen balls, a hat, and free round of golf. And I only lost 2 balls, golf that is...

Beautiful day.

Good evening all, sitting here in my recliner just chilling. :cool2: They finished up about 1 hr ago and did a good job, even redid some things that were done sloppy the last time a unit was put in. Hope everyone has a good night. Ed

Ed, glad your ac is working.

My mower, not so well. Put transaxle back on. Dead battery. Put on charge, then start mode, mower started, no forward or reverse. Left the belt off one pulley, had to pull tire again to get to it. Still no go after that.

Pull out wire for push mode, axle still locked.

Quit for tonight.

Congrats BEF, you know golf spelled backwards is FLOG.... BTW, you don't have to worry about the small pin in your tranny. If you pulled out the guts, then you would have to.

HOT, need to get out on the tractor and do some cutting. Waiting for feels like temp to get closer to 90F.

LS, glad your kids got out safely.

Hawk, that was a nice gift you gave your kids.

RNG, 50 gallons per household water use sounds low to me. Low flush toilets don't flush well and doesn't push things down the line very well either. IYKWIM. My neighbors place is for sale. Low wild fire risk, hot as heck in summer. Flat and safe to mow. Low priced home insurance...Most of all, a great neighbor!!! :)

Glad to hear it Ed, it is super hot here and I have a new thermal expansion valve on the way, along with a new inline filter. I am debating about cleaning or replacing the evac coil.

Decided today was a good day to install the new battery in the Tundra.
Took old one out, cleaned up everything, even wirebrushed and painted the nuts and rust spotted holder. Put new battery in. OOPS, terminals opposite. Not a problem, just turn battery around. Now a problem. Cables too short. Neg cable actually long enough, just need to loosen and adjust the angle. POS terminal, short by inches. Makes me curious how one knows, I thought buying a 27 battery meant it was a drop in replacement for the original 27 battery. Luckily I had a short, heavy duty extension suitable for the task. Wonder if the dealership will notice next service call?
