^^^^^^ Randy You too are a better person than I. My wifey teasing was definitely not "PC" nor appropriate for the general public.. I did see one of the Royal "Chariots" Some of the background music was decent.

A TV that does not get OTA!
I'm really out of touch.

Me, too.

I've been watching some youtubes on how to fix the TV. The TV just clicks and nothing happens and is most likely a capacitor. Has anyone replace a capacitor in a TV?

Never done it myself, but the Best Buy guy had to replace one in our last TV. As with many jobs, it looked pretty simple for someone who knew what he was doing, but maybe not for me.

It was 35* this morning, yesterday was in the mid 60's with partly cloudy skies. Today is going to be about the same, low 60's and partly cloudy.

I think that the fence is done. There are a few spots I have to walk to see if any thing need fixed, but they are usually ok.

Going to town tonight with some neighbors to celebrate a anniversary.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.
CWB.

Drew- You are a better person than I. It was the "pre-game" blather that put me over the edge.

I never saw the pregame nonsense...tuned in after waiting 45 minutes for windows update to crash my pc several times, finally got its brain back and they were exchanging vows and rings. Marvelous timing!

just got caught in downpour mowing around garden, came in drenched, stopped now of course, but another round is due in shortly. Am having a cup of coffee and being patient.

A little bit of good news. I put the two ducks in a dog cage in the garage last night. This morning I heard light quacking from a clump of weeds. One of the Indian Runner ducks, who had been escaping from the chicken pen, turns out went broody and has a nest there with 6 eggs.

So as it stands now-- 3 living ducks (one of which is the Rouen mallard), 1 duck confirmed dead (Rouen female), and 1 duck I guess should be listed as missing-in-action, presumed-dead.

I need to talk to the hunter neighbors about how it would be if I got a hunting license. Their territory here, as I understand, has its maximum number of members-- people wait for the old ones to retire to get in-- but maybe they could make a special "only killing foxes" category of membership for me.

Maybe you could trap the foxes?

Don, my friend likes his 65" Samsung with the curved screen. Not sure the width. You might have to shop with a tape measure.

Bups, hope you heal fast, and your pain is minimized.

rs, thanks for sharing. You too, I pray your pain is minimized and you get well soon. I can't even imagine how to quit smoking...I'm glad I never got a penchant for smoking. I did smoke a few cigs "to be cool" back as a teenager. My friends say that the worst is dipping, quitting dipping must be like crack....

Eric, thanks for the wonderful weather for the wedding. I told my wife that picture perfect days are maybe 1 in 10 over there? Really nice pageantry. Sorry about your paint issues. 2 part is the absolute best for many applications.

Drew, we could use rain bad here. There is none on the horizon.

We are letting the young chickens out of the coop/kennel cage now to range around the backyard. Need to keep them out of the garden.

Have to go to Austin airport to pick up MIL. Also need to go get some chicken feed.

Hope all of you have a blessed day.

I got the dump run and Walk #3 in before the rain. Brogen was better behaved this dump run:cool:. He discovered there that dog biscuits are good eats. A decent blob of water is a couple of miles southwest of this place and heading this way. It should be raining by ~11:00AM. I am not fond of working in the rain; especially mowing. It may be a good afternoon to figure out a decent recipe for a non-fried falafel dish. I have one recipe now that needs some "work."

Drew- I hope you get the chance to continue mowing.

CWB- Enjoy the anniversary with your neighbors.

Good morning to all! Low of 50, only going to 74 today, again, as usual, no rain. Now they took the chances of rain out of the forecast for tomorrow and pushed it back until Tuesday. Even then only a 30-40% chance....when will it end?
Strange weather yesterday afternoon, it was sunny, became cloudy within about 10 minutes, then I could see a large brown dust cloud being kicked up at the base of the mountain, about 7 miles away. Took about 5 minutes to get here, then total brown out / dust storm, super gusty winds, and the temp dropped about 15 degrees. Passed by in another 5 minutes and was all calm. Weird.

Didn't get a chance (maybe lack of motivation) to do some weed-whacking. Ended up getting a few honeysuckle plants when we were out. Going to plant them today, then maybe weed-whack. Found a baby bird that got knocked out of the nest... Can't fly yet, but almost. Parents were yelling at me when I put it back in, but haven't seen them return yet...I hope they will.

buppies, glad to hear surgery went well, take care and heal fast!

Drew, don't get too wet out in the garden, but it's probably better than baking in the sun!

Jay, take care, hope wifey is mending ...

David and Sophie, stay safe and out of harm's way.

Everyone has prayers sent....have a great weekend!

jbrumberg, you and I went to the same university, more or less. window pane was good, but I preferred blotter.

I have been told that to quit smoking is akin to trying to quit heroin. I've never done heroin, so I don't know. I WILL quit smoking....3 days before they shovel dirt in my face.

The rain has started here, so all outside work is on the back burner. I will putz around on the 'net today.

Good Morning!!!! 64F @ 8:15AM. Mainly sunny. High 77F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Hope you're healed in no time, Buppies!

I'll bet that epoxy was intended to be sprayed, not brushed, Eric. Just be glad it was a primer coat that you can sand out with 800 grit used wet. I had a garden hose rupture once a few minutes after I shot the last coat of clear on a fuel tank. That was a complete do-over.

Look at the reviews on Amazon to get a feel of who makes a good TV, Don. You probably won't find the same model numbers in Costco or Sam's, as the manufacturers make special runs for those stores. I've replaced capacitors before, but not in a TV. In old tube style TVs there are capacitors in there that hold a lot of energy and can really knock you on your butt if you get shocked. Don't know about the new LED/LCD TVs, but I bet some reading online will give you a good idea of what to avoid.

I'm getting a later start on mowing than I'd hoped this morning because I had to mix a new batch (5 gallons) of nectar for the hummers. Their antics make it worth it, though.

Speaking of antics, I was cleaning the BBQ yesterday morning when I heard the high tittering of a bald eagle, and looking up saw a pair of them being harassed by a couple of crows. Pretty spectacular aerobatics on the crow's part, and some pretty close wing flying by the eagles to try to protect one another.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend...

Ted- Thanks for the + wishes. Wifey is mending pretty well. She actually likes using that Dyson cordless vacuum cleaner. I do not mind kitchen duties except when there's micro management of the "chef". There is a weather term for what you experienced. I do not remember the term. :embarrassed: The old weather memory is fading.

L4N- I believe that we have previously "met" on some astral plain. I knew the "source" at PSU;). I probably was a "QC" "volunteer." ;)

I worked with detoxing individuals. From all accounts from the heroin addicts going "cold turkey" the withdrawal itself was like having a really bad case of flu. There are much more difficult and potentially deadly chemicals from which to detox and the withdrawal symptoms are scary. A lot of chemicals present like the detoxing alcoholics' delirium tremors.

Nicotine is one of the most difficult chemicals from which to try to quit. One has the addictive qualities of the nicotine, the addictive quality of the role of the behaviors (memory motor strength) related to use like the acquisition and methodology of using, all kinds of environmental cues including smell (coffee) to trigger use, and a relatively supportive social environment w/i to use (although that is changing).

I never smoked cigarettes, but my wife was a +2 pack/day user. Her quitting smoking was not pretty.

Good luck- J

RNG- I am fascinated by the way nesting birds will defend their territories from predator birds much larger than they and/or how birds will mob predators w/i their feeding nesting territories. I can visualize the eagle pair covering each other from the crows. What a gift.

I researched the weather dust storm dynamic. It was probably a Katabatic wind more than a Haboob event. After the udder thing I'll stay away from "H*boobs".
