"I used to be a real news junkie. I'd always search as many sources as I could find, from newspapers to magazines to radio and television, and eventually the vast internet. Over the past 20 years or so, it seems everyone has gotten so narrow in their scope that it is indeed almost impossible to find truly unbiased news anymore. Sad, really, considering the incredible glut of information available to even the casual observer. I know it's probably always been like that, but it just seems so brazen now. Discouraging."- PJS
I have no favorite news source anymore. I was a news junkie like PJS and have come to the same conclusions. All the news agencies and especially the cable news networks spin the news as dictated by their funding sources' political leanings and their following viewership. It's all a financially driven rating game. My cynicism about health care has evolved from professional, personal and family experiences. I filed complaints about the care my Mother and Father received by both hospital and longterm care providers.
The day started off cloudy and temperatures where in the mid 30F's; now it is drizzling and temperatures are in the low 40F's. This weather is knocking down the snowpack here- it's ~6" in the open and close to 12" in the woods. This place due to its location is one of the few places around here that still has snow on the ground.
This weather matches my mood today. I/We missed out on another Saint Bernard rescue, but I am happy for the dog and his new owners. I am not familiar with the "rescue process" nor comfortable with Facebook which does not help connecting with the different FB St. B. rescue sites. There are now a few other people helping us look; ideally a bonded pair rescue, but we may end up going to a breeder.
