Only company making 2 reciever style adapter wants $59+ $8 shipping. I built mine with $75 worth of parts and 4 hours labor! What a savings! No laughing at the welding!

Not laughing at your welding, Randy, you used enough black paint. I am laughing at your economics: They're the same ones I use.:laughing::laughing:

Don took a few chapters but i see you finished off the stump before it finished you

I had a couple lucky breaks, when the trunk and root ball broke into moveable pieces.

The Kubota is out of service with it's FEL hydraulic cylinders off for repair. No I did not break them on the stump, they were leaking before I guess the life span of the seals is about 15 years.

How did your tax amount compare to last yr? Gettting less back means you just didn't loan the govt as much.

I havent done my taxes, are the new deduction changes in effect for 2017 taxes? I thought they just went in effect for next yrs 2018 calculations.

There were some tax deductions that "expired" at the end of 2016 that were supposed to be extended for 2017, but did not get 'approved' for the 2017 tax year. There was a note stating "when the legislature renews the extention, reviews will be necessary". One of these were energy efficiency deduction (which I still had a $4000 deduction that couldn't be used in 2016 due to overage) another was mortgage insurance premiums. There were a couple of others which I can't think of right now. My income went up by $9000, but my withholding also increased proportionately (didn't change w4) the loss was solely due to the loss of these deductions. The new 'exemption' amounts don't come into effect until the 2018 tax year.

Don, our tractor's are going out too. Where are you getting them rebuilt? Mind if I ask what the price is?

Drew, hope you get it sold "without a hitch".

Where o where is David Sodamo?

farmer, glad you boy is good to go. I'm guessing your wife was in lala land until the meds wear off, and then the pain. Dry sockets suck.

Ron, interesting about the UTI/dementia connection. My wife is researching the probiotics and how they can really help your overall health.

Prayers for all.

Yes you can ask, but since I didn't ask I won't be able to tell you till it's done. Ron might remember from last time. $120 comes to mind. The kubota dealer on Hwy 71 is doing it.

Good evening all. 28F for the start, overcast, light breeze. Very little freezing rain fell here, just enough to require windshield scrapping, not much in rain gauge. High temp was 48F, wind picked up for a while, sky became partly cloudy. Removes some ash from WBS then revived it, Men's meeting this morning, followed by battery in wife's UPS dying. Trip to Sherman replaced the battery ran some errands while in town and lunch at Red Lobster :). Bike ride upon return home, no nap today :(.

I would be interested in her findings.

15 degrees right now...high will be about 20 or so...

We got a good solid 10-12 inches of snow. Fortunately, it was fairly powdery, so where I had to shovel wasn't too bad.

Good morning all. I was too busy yesterday getting things done while the ground was firm to get on here. Now it's clouded over, with just enough "warmth" to turn it all back to mud again. It would have been nice if it had stayed dry as I have a man coming to look at and maybe buy my 3 ton dumper today (or does he just want a 7 day test drive too? :)). It was tired when I got it 10 years ago, though has moved a lot of material since then. TIme for it to go now, either as someone else's restoration project, or for scrap - my arm has had enough of hand cranking diesels

Ron, anything to save your back has got to be worth trying. One annoying thing I find with portable transfer pumps is what to do with the wet suction pipe once it comes out. I've tried putting it inside another pipe, that worked until I knocked it over, leaving behind a little pool of diesel on the floor. RNG, when you store yours hung up, how do you stop it from being a dirt magnet ?

Work is turning ugly, lots of layoffs as business transitions. Lots of experience going out door, those of us left are taking are 2-3 times workload, much of it just won't get done. It made my wife and I start looking at where we stand financially, are we ready for retirement
Hawkeye, sounds like you are more than ready for retirement if you can manage it. If that means living a little more frugally, it's still a lot better than been killed by stressing over work.

Left to right in the pic. 243. 45-70. 270. 45-110

CWB, the 45-110 is a lot of brass to fill ! Is 110 the nominal powder charge ? How much works best in your rifle ?

Does anyone now what happened to Larro Darro? I thought I read something but now can't find it.

19 right now. We got about 5 inches of snow and then hours of rain on top. Glad I cleaned up most of it last night as everything is froze solid this morning.

When someone asks me to weld something for them, I tell 'em I'm a much better grinder than I am a weldor. Sometimes that works and they go somewhere else.

My welder is a little Lincoln NASCAR 135 that I paid $100 for with every accessory, gloves, chipper, brushes and multiple spares and spools of wire. But it’s borderline for really thick stuff so I use flux core to get better penetration, not as pretty as shielding gas.

The guy I got it from decided to restore cars, so he bought all this stuff, then decided he was a woodworker so he bought all that stuff. The welder had maybe a quarter spook if wire run through it and the bottle never had gas in it. It was covered in sawdust, so I guess he found his calling! I got my money’s worth. That was 6 years ago. Every backyard welder knows a good die grinder and some 2X Rustoleum is the key to good welding!

I think Larry Darro just drifted away, he’d be gone for a while, come back and then be gone longer. He may pop in.
David Sadamo usually checks in hen he’s on these world tours, maybe he’s in a monastery on retreat.

A couple of degrees warmer this morning at 31, but today’s high of 38 vs 60 yesterday, is an uptake!

Good morning all, 29 going to 37 and sunny today. We had a little ice yesterday, enough to make walking the dog much more exciting. Had a good steady rain most of the day. The weather station said we got .01 in so I guess that did not work very well. Yesterday was very busy. Wife had a birthday yesterday and boy not feeling well. With him being non verbal it is hard to say what it is. Mom still upset about her mind not working well. Their office manager called about some blood work and wife had a talk with her and we are being given a new Dr from the same office. Glad for that. Today????? who knows. After reading all of those pages and not keeping up yesterday I can't remember who did what, maybe I should be upset because my mind isn't working right either. :)

PJ, would like to hear some of your music if you would like to put it on.

Prayers all around, Ed

Ed, I didn’t know about the UTI dementia connection either before moms issues. My wife did of course, and filled me in. I confess that at times I didn’t handle it well, but Lynn kept me on an even keel. God bless you through this, it is a wild ride.
