It was 55 degrees here at 7 pm. Now it’s 57 degrees at 9 p.m. and fog rolled in about 8 p.m. can’t even see the outside security lights down at shop or over at horse barn.

Prayers for all suffering the flu, especially the little ones.

Randy- I understand the process. What is criminal is that nobody from BC/BS came to your aid during your devastating/catastrophic loss to help you understand your loss of coverage and help you make choices about coverage options if any. Who can think straight under these conditions. This is morally wrong. I am relieved to read as of February 1st you have coverage again. You should never have lost your coverage in the first place. What happened to you happens to a lot of others too. This is wrong.

Don- You'll beat that trunk. I'd bet on you if I gambled. It's a matter of time ...... and force.... and a really big hole

Einthewoods- I wish you safe and germ free travels. Airports are amazing cauldrons of pathogens. Keep clean; stay safe; don't pick your nose.

LOL. I saw my wife putting something in my carry on and asked her what she was up to (you never know when your wife might want you jacked up by the TSA). She put a ziploc bag in with disinfectant wipes saying I need them for wiping down airplane tray tables and rental care surfaces. Da*n I love that woman!

Before I retired I was making 1-2 round trips to SE Asia per month. I did my best to reduce that during flu season but, ... business came first. Luckily, I flew business and first class only.

Since I retired to the Ranch, I’ve not had so much as a cold.

I didn稚 realize I wasn稚 getting the insurance as her survivor, with continuing premium payments by me. The way the state works you can get larger initial benefits by declining survivor benefits. Since she had signed up for continuing benefits from her time as medical supervisor of Tyson Foods eastern region, and Campbell痴 soup Mid Atlantic before that, but neither involved insurance as she separated from both when they closed the local offices rather than relocating. It was an oversight, and didn稚 cost me greatly as it could have, but they should have made it clear by confirming that I understood. I couldn稚 think straight for weeks about then.

My late brother made several trips a year to Germany, Italy and the UK. When India, China and Korea started using the same machinery, they wanted him to start going there, he retired.

Good evening all. 35F this morning for the start, mostly clear sky, light breeze. high temp of 59F, wind gusty to 25, and mostly clear sky, except to the south and east. Kyle sorry to hear about flu.

Have you tried turning your tractor around, extending your hoe, chaining to the hoe, lift and pull with your hydraulics, reposition and repeat.
The power of hydraulics is amazing.

41 currently and that’s the high for today. Sleet is falling and melting on contact. Supposed to be rain.

Don nice work. Guess you know how to lock yourself up with a backhoe so that you don’t pull the tractor around. Lock up and attach chain to hoe and pull. I’ve been waiting for that stump to sit back up on you if you keep cutting the trunk off it.

Kyle. When I had the flu. Doctor told me type A was mostly cough and sore throat but that’s the one everybody was getting pneumonia from. Type B had all the vomiting and stomach symptoms. Hope she gets better.

Busy week coming up. Monday me to dentist. Tuesday youngest son gets ear tubes at 18 months. Wednesday wife gets 2 teeth cut out at oral surgeon. I don’t need anything for Thursday or Friday so don’t even try to schedule me.

Did just get home from a nice dinner with the wife. Left kids with dad. So that was relaxing. Japanese steakhouse that is always good. Then to rural king and wallyworld.

Drew. Congrats on the sale. Guess my tractor pictures just weren’t good enough. I see.

Good morning all, 34 is the temp and the called for high, 100% chance of everything but sunny weather. No plans today, will see.

Don, glad things are going well with the stump.

Kyle, Prayers for you and your family.

Prayers for everyone else. Ed

Rain is over and hopefully starting to soak away soon. Mud is to be expected in winter, this year it seems to be in abundance, oozing out of the grass wherever the sheep care to wander. Some fields remind me of the opening to the Beverly Hillbillies, except the stuff bubbling up through the ground isn't worth much and more brown coloured than black (not that I could have told the difference in the 60's - our tv only showed monochrome) .

Come and listen to a story 'bout a man named Jed
Poor mountaineer barely kept his family fed
Then one day he was shooting for some food,
And up through the ground come a bubbling crude
(Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea)

Kyle, sounds like your little one is going to feel poorly for a while. Hope you find ways to cheer her up while she recovers.

Einthewoods - "playing" with the tractor ? Bet it's that smile on your face that's giving the game away. Try sucking a slice of lemon before reaching for the tractor keys . It takes a lot of hard practice to keep a serious face when the tractor is calling you. Also helps to have phrases ready like " I just enjoy my work". Don likes to work too.

32° and can see the moon thru light clouds.

31 going up to 60 in much warmer day, bringing rain in all day and night. It's getting muddy out here...both sides of the pond Eric.

Coffee is brewing, fridge is getting empty, time to go food shopping this morning. First I'm going to plant some flowers in the sun room.
It's fun to move the grow light around, with all the tired little shoots popping straight up in attention to the light they crave. Onions could get planted now, but my plans of early Feb are going to delay a week or two. The weather may be ok for the onions but it's not too good for me....cold and wet just isn't much fun and the next week or two apparently isn't going to warm up much.

Tomorrow the Super A comes home, finally, with its new oil pan gasket installed. That was the last delay, before delivery they did the final drip test after driving it around and it failed. Ten dollar cork gasket, but more importantly, I asked them to obviously clean the pan out and see how much gunk is on the bottom of it. Hopefully not a Paleozoic layer of hardened ooze turning into amber...62 years of accumulated goop.

We have rain in the forecast every two or three days. Not sure when those garden hills are going to get done. I really don't need hills for onions but the plan is to have the garden all run in rows in one direction, with a clear path up the middle for golf carts/UTV and carts for picking the tons of vegetables. This is such a who knows, no idea if things will grow. I mean melons from Afghanistan and Iraq; they should feel right at home here, right?

Got my invite to the local Garden Club meeting this coming week. Apparently about 40-45 members show up for monthly meetings, sounds good.
Special speaker at next meeting giving talks on trip to France and gardens there. Since the speaker is a Franco-phile, I'm taking a small container of Zebrune Shallots seedlings as a thank you gift. What French person wouldn't want to make onion soup out of real French onions...

They say the flu is at its worst right now. I know it's basically antisocial but for sickness am glad I live alone and not near kids. I'll be wiping that push cart handle at the supermarket today and first thing I do coming in the door is wash my hands. So far no flu in about ten years. What some of you are getting sounds awful, particularly for kids. Hope you all feel better soon. Lots of ice cream for sick kids and their parents.

22 right now...high in the mid 30's...maybe a bit more.
Good news...the 3-5 inches predicted has been reduced to 1-3....I can handle that!

Not much going on today. I'm taking my step-daughter to Lebanon NH to catch a bus to the airport near Boston. She and a friend are going to Spain (Barcelona) for a couple weeks. I visited Barcelona when I was in the Navy...beautiful city.

Good morning, I tried to move a large dead pine off its stump yesterday with my little toy tractor... HAHAHAHA
Out comes the saw next.
34 yesterday 50s and rain today, 30s tomorrow, 50s next day and it’s like that for the next two weeks.

Need to pour second cup of coffee. 29° with snow this morning. Heading to 32° with snow until late afternoon. No plans for the day. Clean up a few inches of snow. But not with tractor. Just a shovel on the walkway form house to garage. Good day to work on taxes. Last piece of paper came in mail yesterday. Last weekend without any NASCAR. :cool2:
BCBS is the most expensive Medicare plan in Michigan. If we had a choice I would change to another company. But with wife's condition we have no choice. Hard to understand that a Non-profit organization would be the highest cost. Got a bill that premiums are going up another $50 in April. Maybe I should not complain. They have never denied a bill payment. Our prescription part D with Humana/Walmart has been almost perfect. They have been paying $12k per month for 3 years for wife's medications. How much is the government paying. Never see any data on this.
Kyle, Prayers for your daughter and family.
Don, keep at it. My kind of project. Just think what we could have done with that one together. :drink:
Best travels for those flying around.
Prayers for those not up to par.
Good Morning All.

Prayers for the sick ones, good wishes for the travelers and happy Sunday to the rest. Got my grandsons birthday party that was put off due to everybody being sick.

10 now and looking for a high of 12. Wind NNE 13 gusting to 24 mph. A couple of inches moree than we got last night. About noon I will go out and plow.

txdon, look at all the June bugs you will be missing out on this year. :) They do make good bait, though.
I was going to suggest you cut that tree up into firewood sized pieces. If you really don't want it, neatly pile it at the curb and put a for sale sign on it. If around your area is anything like around my area, it will be gone overnight.

Other than plowing today, I got nothing I want to do

Stay safe, all

Good happy Sunday morning everyone.

Getting my act together slowly for the drive to the airport. I told me wife that no matter the story, I have not given anyone permission to borrow the tractor. She said she would protect it like it was one of our children. :)

I'm going to have to try a tac in my boot or something. :)

Those are some long flights. I never look forward to them. Same here with not being sick. Every time I leave the homestead I feel like I am gambling with getting something.

Have a great day everyone.

Erik

Cold snap still coming to Texas it's showing back up again but as Toppop said next two weeks lots of ups and downs. It appears March will be extremely wet in the East hope it's right
