We have 10 above this morning. Looks like we got 6-7 inches of wet snow. Used the tractor once ,used a shovel for final cleanup. Temps were nice all day @33,34.

Good morning all. Strangely calm here this morning after last night gales that had my wife resorting to ear plugs before she could finally get back to sleep. Lots of things scattered around but fortunately no obvious damage and I was really pleased to see the new greenhouse survived intact. I was lucky no glass was broken as I had stupidly left several off-cuts of galvanised sheet leaned against a wall. Only casualty was a tub of sheep nuts that had been upturned and soaked, though the ewes certainly didn't complain at this unexpected breakfast treat.

10 heading to 42. Only got 2 inches of snow yesterday, but pretty, and already did some animal tracking.

Eric, why do you cut off the sheep nuts?

Rick, how did you find such an odd video? Don sure looks good for his age :).

My dad and his twin brother volunteered into the Army as soon as they were old enough and went to Japan at the end of the war. They had rules about treating them right, and I'm glad we are friends with the Japanese now. The GI Bill helped put them both through college when they returned.

Roasted some dynamite coffee yesterday. Enjoying it now.

Einthewoods, still need those tractor pix.

Good morning all, 10 going to 42 this morning. Ended up with about 1 1/2 in of snow. Plowed the drive with the snow blower, would kick on the blower every now and then. hope to make it to the shop today, we will see. Dad very proudly showed me a paper framed from the goverment saying that he was needed to stay on the farm and produce all of the food he could. He was by then the only one to help Papa run the farm as his brother had died when young. Dad showed me that with great pride, wonder what happened to it.

Drew, I grew up on an A and when I started driving cars wondered why they did not put the shifter on the left, to me it just worked easier. then I figured it would make it hard to get in and out of the door. The funny things you remember. Thanks for the pics.

Rip, still praying for you, wife and car.

Randy, Buckeye, others, still praying for you too. Ed

Good morning! it was 19˚ when I woke up now it's 25˚. My WBS must be heating up the outside because the sun is not up.
Rick, my back hurts just looking at that video.

21 going to a high of 27. Wind WSW 9mph. 30% chance of flurries.

Dad was a city boy born and raised. Summer weekends he would spend on the farm (his Dad gave up any rights to the farm when he went to University to study pharmacology)[become a druggist], summer days he delivered prescriptions for the drugstore his Dad owned.
Fast forward to 1942 he enlisted (volunteered), was sent to Baggotville, Quebec after basic training. Out for a walk in the northern Quebec bush one day with his Sargent buddy and came across a cute black puppy. Well, it turned out that the black 'puppy' wasn't a puppy at all and Momma bear took exception to Dad messing with her cub. Up a tree he got chased and his Sgt. buddy scared the bear off with his Thompson.

The dump run didn't happen yesterday. It WILL happen today as I need to get some grub in and some fresh greens as well.

Have a safe day all,

Drinking first cup of coffee. 11° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 31° with mostly sunny skies. Got yesterday's projects completed without to much cussing. Maybe I should start calling a plumber for these jobs up under a vanity. High on my list today is a haircut.
My dad was in the Merchant Marines during WWI. When he went to enlist for service during WWII he was heckled by the young men. Calling him Grandpa. He just smiled. They did not take him because of a work injury and age. He was working at Briggs Manufacturing at the time. They were making military equipment for the war. He was a engineer at Warren Tank Plant when he retired in 1964. He talked very little about his experiences during WWI.
Ed, a Farmall A is how got my first tractor experience.
Our prayers and well wishes are paying off. Glad of that.
Good Morning All.

Rick, my back hurts just looking at that video.
My same thoughts. I cannot bend over very long like that guy. But I realized from that video you did not have everything prepared as well as that guy. You should have had them stacks of bricks all laid out ahead of time. :D
