Bird, I’m with you, always hated plumbing and now I don’t crawl around as well as I use to.

Talked to a long time friend Sunday night, she lost her husband three years ago, they were our next door neighbors for years in the 80’-90’s. Our daughters are still best friends. She’s been very kind since Lynn passed. After a 45 minute conversation we decided to go to dinner when this snow gets past. She’s a retired educator, I’m a retired hillbilly. LOL

12* this morning and it feels like summer after the past week of sub zero low temps. I see from the forecast that I had better soak up this "warmth" as it is going to be near zero and well below (-5 as a high for Thursday and Friday) for the rest of the week.

My tractor is supposed to be delivered this week!!!....and I am trying not to call the dealer to check on the schedule :)

My coworker and I decided to take one more day off considering the temperatures here. It's a nice luxury to be able to do that, thanks to the understanding owner of the business we work for. It's -15 F with a predicted high of +7 F. If it gets up to +15 tomorrow like they say it will be welcome. Looking forward to Sunday warm up of +32. The old SUV was very whiny at -10 last night and I'm glad I don't have to start any engines this morning.

It's 62 F here at the kitchen table next to the sliding glass door. Time for some HOT coffee!

Kevin

Drinking second cup of coffee. 9° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 14° with afternoon sun. Sun came out early afternoon yesterday. By the time I got dressed for the cold weather. Skies had gone back to cloudy. But since I was already dressed for outside. I got tractor out and hooked to chipper so I could measure PTO shaft. Got that done and weight box back on tractor. I was cold. Called it a day for outside. Going to cut PTO shaft today in the heated shop. It's about 2 1/2" too long. May get oil poured into tank and try out chipper.
Bird, know how you feel about plumbing. I have a new faucet set that needs install in master bath. Cannot get my mind set to crawl under vanity to change it out. Maybe later this week when highs are not going to get out of the single digits.
Drew, electric heater can drive up the KWh. We normally use about 20 kwh per day this time of year. When furnace went out last week it jumped up to 55 kwh. That was for just over 12 hours of no furnace. You better be setting down when you get you next bill.
Prayers for those recovering life's challenges.
Good Morning All.

Good morning! 27˚ heading to 32˚, nothing planed outside.
House cooled to 64˚ last night so the heat strip kicked in for half and hour this morning as the hose warmed to 68˚. My December electric bill, which did not include this latest cold spell was $94 in our all electric house. I'm looking for double that for the January bill.
My mom has a propane tank and it looks like she will use about $600 of propane this winter (Dec. Jan. Feb.) and still have a monthly electric bill of $80.

Don, my last electric bill was $122 also in an all electric house, and unfortunately, I, too, expect it to just about double this next time.
