Good Morning!!!! 34F @ 6:30AM, still just outside Plymouth, CA. Sunny. High 61F. Winds light and variable

Used yesterday morning to find both wires broken going to the left driving light on my friend痴 motorcycle. The wire was hard and wouldn稚 take solder, so a couple butt connectors were crimped on and the whole mess wrapped in electrical tape. I suppose that was a nice Christmas present to him, me finding the break, but he also enjoyed the Don Julio tequilla after dinner, too. Which was another rib roast, one he壇 been aging for a month in a special climate controlled refrigerator. It was delicious, but the slab of meat placed on my plate was more than I could handle and still leave room for the pecan pie dessert.:licking: A very nice Christmas dinner for all.

Gosh, Dab, I just had to wipe my chin! That roast looks very tasty!

Welcome and safe travels, Rye, I値l be joining you on the road in a few hours. Good weather for travelling here, and hope you have the same.

Hope they get the pain management down better for your wife, Rip. Bad enough being in a hospital without the nursing staff not doing their job right. And I hope you have a good visit with the doctor today, Buckeye.

15°F and clear skies this morning, going up to a balmy 19° today, then down into the single digits tonight. Looks like we'll be below freezing for the next couple of weeks, too.

The four-day weekend was very relaxing. I need to start checking in from home once in awhile, though. Took quite some time this morning to get caught up with this thread.

Hope everyone is well today.

Plugged the tractor in about 10 minutes ago...guess I'd better hit the drive again. Wind is a bit brisk, so we got some drifting. I think I'd rather be setting by the wood stove drinking some wine....alas, that'll be later. It's 19 degrees, definitely going to be more comfortable in the cab!

We got some snow Friday morning, about 1/2" at most, then the sun came out in the afternoon and melted most of it. We got some more Saturday, and it lasted on and off for most of the day, but only light accumulation of maybe an inch. Definitely nothing requiring the tractor yet. Stay warm, Roy.

Before you know it Roy mud and blackflies. ;)

Bird, good luck today, hope it goes well with your wife, have experience with implantable stimulators. Reduced about half of my wife's nerve pain.

Well, since we are showing off JD's this morning, I have a family pic to offer from my friend in Delaware.
Not a really nice metal one like David's...can guarantee you which one will still be working in twenty years.

We bought our middle grandson that exact rig a couple of years ago, pretty well made. I also have a JD front end loader for the boys in my garage.

64°F and .05 inches Raina bit overcast this morning.

Back to my project as long as it’s dry.
Need to go to post office.

Be safe
Have a great day

Went to see a front end end loader in “excellent“ condition. It looked like the hammer brigade jumped on it, followed by the rust monster, then the seal eaters. That thing leaked, like a sieve, had more rust than a submarine and looked like it had been through the shredder.

As you can see grandson loved his new John Deere, keeping it at gram pas house so he can ride it in my basement until summer.

That's awesome.

My "first" tractor was one of these IH 856 cast iron thingies back in the late '60s / early '70s. Had it's own parking spot in the garage. After me, it got passed on to some younger cousins. No idea what ever happened to it.

Decided to not journey 1hr each way to the doctor. Am doing better with the issue i was having, and frankly nothing for him to see now. And he never got back with a time anyways.

Now trying to get ahold of my regular doctor to renew a perscription for my statin. Their phone still on holiday mode. I called pharmacy for refill, they wont refill even though it says i have refills. Pharmacy claims my perscription was cancelled. I asked how and who cancelled it, they wouldnt say, said i needed doctor to send in new perscription. Told them maybe it will go to a different pharmacy.

If it ain't one thing, it's another...

Bought my sons a peddle tractor when they were young. Caught the youngest, 19 yo, 6ft tall, riding it the other day, but couldnt get camera in time. Was funny seeing him on it.

Before you know it Roy mud and blackflies. ;)

We're on a paved road (RT 12), so the mud season isn't going to bother us too much. My buddy lives on a dirt road...and it is a bit difficult to get to his place though.

Just came in from doing the drive and walks...I guess this is the 4th time I've done this since Saturday. Hopefully, the last time for a week or so...

37 currently.

Just wondering down to the chicken coops for today. Sister’s family had a stomach bug last week and I told her to keep it in Louisville. But the pharmacist swore that they weren’t contagious and came in anyway Saturday. 48 hours later and over half of the people at that family get together have a stomach bug, with the same symptoms her family had. Her Christmas text message from me wasn’t nice.

Walk birds and check cows hay supplies. Then probably a trip to town to get some more sprite and ginger ale.

So ........ other than those extremely very minor issues, was there anything major wrong with it Randy??

Maybe it was salvaged off this tractor?

We had around 6 inches of snow to clean up yesterday, today when I got home from work I had 18 to 20 inches of drifts across the driveway. Got that cleaned up and moved a snow pile the town plow truck left in front of the house. Getting ready for the bitter cold coming soon and lasting till next week/year.

gosh it sounded like a low hour creampuff to me.

Randy, whatever you get you'll likely have the rest of your life, so don't skimp. Get something
you know you will like. Other than a ZL1 Camaro.

got some nice seat time on the Kubota, put the rear rake on it and filled in potholes on my neighbor's driveway, plus made the field roads smooth after I disc'd the weeds last week.
Just an excuse to get outside and get some sun on my face.

Well, how rude, they just posted a winter weather advisory, meaning we will have to suffer the indignities
of ice and a dusting of snow tomorrow morning. Good, I'm headed to the Kubota dealer at 9 to put in the order for my F mower,
nothing like a little ice glaze to make things interesting. Thankfully I have plenty of experience driving in crappy weather.
The Outback with Michelins is likely to have more grip than the truck, full time awd vs 4wd with limited slip. But if I'm not plowing through six inches of snow,
am thinking the Subaru is a better winter car. But I am likely to take the truck anyway after all this because it has remote start and will warm itself up and melt the ice
by remote. Nothing like sitting down on a warm seat and grabbing a warm steering wheel when the weather is awful outside.
Makes me wonder when tractors will have that...only a matter of time.

Good, I'm headed to the Kubota dealer at 9 to put in the order for my F mower,

Drew, I hope you have better luck with Kubota Mowers than me. I’ve been trying to buy one of their ZD1500 diesel zero turns with 72” rear discharge deck since October. No ZD1511’s will be shipped until mid March 2018??? ☹️

not good, hope that's a regional thing. I never did ask ETA.........
I'll let you know what I'm told tomorrow, which of course means nothing until the unit actually shows up.
I waited almost two months for a Bush Hog mower much to the chagrin of the Massey dealer.
Sure won't be selling my current mower until the new one is proven operational.

I just love talking about working in the dirt and mowing stuff while our New England and Canadian friends are slithering around pushing snow drifts.
There were even flowers blooming outside, I think camelias. They however are about to get frozen along with everything else.
This is exactly the cold snap I need for my fruit trees to go fully dormant, so always a silver lining to the eye widening propane bill.
