Good evening all. No snow here in North Texas. 22F for the start, (one of the outdoor remote units quit reading), overcast, calm wind. Overcast left early, wind became moderate for a while, and the high temp was 47F. Hauled some ashes out of the wood stove before reviving a nice bed of coals. Then on wood stove feed duty rest of day, bike ride at noon, annual physical this afternoon, and got a nap in too .

Buckeye, hope you wake up feeling great.
39 degrees and dropping, looks like heaviest part of storm system now mostly offshore but more rain today.
So far about 2.2 inches, just a perfect soaker. In this sandy soil that will take care of all my newly planted trees and shrubs,
and for sure the grass seed. I should probably go plant some more grass seed, stays warm enough here that it just might grow over the winter.
Will be interesting to see how my neighbor's field of collards is doing after these freezes we've had. They now have plenty of water to grow. He's trying to make a killing
by having fresh collards for Christmas. He's gambling the weather won't kill the plants before then. I'm a gambler he proudly spluttered. Yeah, that's why you are flat broke.

When the rain stops I'm headed next door with my new Dewalt impact gun and sockets, to help my beleaguered neighbor pull parts off various transplanters to try to make one work.
He has no less than five Holland transplanters, some bent in half, must of hit a tree...all rusty and nasty. He has thousands of small collard plants in his one remaining cold shed
and he wants to get them into the ground somehow. In the middle of the winter. well, no matter what, getting the transplanter fixed will help him next year. New one is $4000
and there is no Santa for that one.

32 and about 3 or 4 inches of snow on the ground...forecast calls for 1 to 3 more. The ground never froze, so slowly melting as it falls.

Plans today call for hiking in the snow to track the animals that roamed around last night, then hitting the gym, keeping the wood stove hot, and decorating the tree. Coco got an early present - a new glow in the dark Frisbee, so we'll probably fire that up and go out and play in a few minutes, after I finish my coffee.

Last night I finally got to watch those You-tubes of drilling with cloth and using a rubber band - quite ingenious.

Good morning all, 32 this morning going to 34 with an 80% chance of snow. 80% during the night but none yet. NWS id now saying 2 to 4 in, was saying less than 1". Took a load of stuff out of the garage to the storage unit and got the snow blower going, just in case. Electric start and it fired right up so no big deal.

Buckeye, praying for you this morning, might need to get out and play in the snow.

Got some time to play with the Tormek and I love it. Sharpened a set if chisels and they leave a finish like glass. :thumbsup:

Ed, is it true you can always tell when someone gets a Tormek by the hairs missing from places they wouldn't normally shave ?

25 right now...low 30's as the high and maybe some snow showers today or tonight.

Only chores are a dump run this morning...look at a walk-behind snow blower for the walks and I've got a guy coming over to look at a pair of tractor snow chains I had for my 4400 Deere.
After that, we'll see what goes

Good morning, the sleet battle here is over and snow has won out. Forecast for more today and Sunday too.

Don, you've got me obsessed with rubber bands, everything I see these last couple of days makes me think of them. For example, a friend came yesterday with a flat bed trailer to collect a few bales of silage for his cattle. As he tightened the straps the bales started to slide, the pressure making an almost friction less contact between the plastic wrapping and the compacted sleet on the bed. How many rubber bands would it take to fix that ? Far too many he guessed, so he will be back today with a sided trailer.

Then the funny farm sheep balls - removed nowadays by a tight rubber band.

Newbury, not seen those laundry balls before, do they work ? I gave the sheep a snowball for breakfast

Eric, not here, I just checked them out skimming some wood off of a scrap of plywood. When it skims wood of easy with just hand pressure and leaves a slick surface it is good for me.

Poured first cup of coffee. 22° with light snow this morning. Heading to 31° with light snow. Snow from yesterday melted any place the sun shined. No sun today. Get to sweep walkway again today. Got 4 totes of Christmas decorations in house. Wife has been going thru them. Today's project will probably be helping her put them up.
Buckeye, hope you are feeling better soon.
Eric, wife uses the wool balls in dryer. Helps to keep items from clumping together.
