Good morning.

33 going to 39 with periods of rain. Wind SSE 3 mph.

I have nothing planned for today. The dump is closed and I don't have a town run either. If it was spring, then I would have the tractor out scraping the ice off the drive way. But not at the start of winter. That is my base for scraping the snow down to.

Have a good day all.

Do you plant a younger tree each year so you'll have one small enough to fit into the house in the future, Eric?

I Planted a few Nordmann fir when they were only 2-3" inch tall, back in the pre-grandchildren era. The trees in favoured positions seem to have thrived on hope, while others that don't see as much daylight are following a few years behind. I suppose I ought to try propagating a few cuttings next year to keep the cycle going.

Eric, we call those poor unwanted ugly trees Charley Brown trees here, from the comic strip.

Interesting to learn about the "Charlie Brown" ugly trees. Not many in the UK can claim to have grown a strip of peanuts, though doubt the sheep would appreciate that sort of peanut hay. :D

Good morning, still relatively warm here, though a little wetter than I had hoped. Today's job is taking down some old fences. Getting staples out is always a pain, but lifting out the few posts that haven't yet rotted is always fun now I have a 4-in-1 bucket.

Buppies, great to hear your jaw felt good enough to have a blast out in your convertible.

Buckeye, I imagine working from home writing test scripts could be quite theraputic, as long as you give yourself lots of little breaks away from the computer screen. Are you using the ubiquitous National Instruments stuff for your automated firmware testing, or something else?

You forgot New Zealand :)

.

Yeah it's summer down here now. Been out all day checking out/planning a mountain bike track I've got to take the group around on Friday.
Even in the forest, peddling hard on the tracks it was very warm. :superman:

29 going to 57. Looking4new, I'm surprised it's colder here than northern Ontario.

Buppies, sounds like a wonderful way to spend a Sunday...I like that part of the Parkway but don't get down there often.

The weather guy just said we'll only lose 9 more minutes of daylight until the solstice. It sure seems like I'm not getting as much done outside with these short days...especially those where I wait until mid-morning for the frost to melt.

Jim, you'll soon be getting shorter days.

Eric, are peanuts a popular snack in Great Britain?

Don, that bridge still looks great.

Took advantage of the 60 degree weather yesterday and roasted 3 batches of coffee outside...drinking some right now.

Floyd and north, or Floyd and south??? Beautiful either way, but we hardly venture north of Floyd much. Lat fall we took the Parkway clear down to Blowing Rock, NC. That was nice !

We were going south which is the way we usually head this time of year. You should try going north to Peaks of Otter beautiful area

Drinking first cup of coffee. 34° with partly cloudy skies. Heading to 53° with chance of rain in afternoon. May be a good time to get snow plow on tractor. Snow in forecast everyday starting tomorrow. Beyond that not much else planned. Need to get my inside list up to date. Lots of little things to get done.
Drew and Randy, glad you were able to meet up.
Buckeye and Buppies, best wishes for fast healing.
Good Morning All.

coffee is brewing, am munching on a homemade carrot muffin with no added sugar and carrots grown in their garden.
Yum! Might be a few of those that wind up in my coat pocket on the way out.
Very stiff neck from sleeping in strange bed and strange pillows, plus yesterday's drive is catching up with me.

Today I am off to have lunch with my goddaughter, her four year old daughter and the parents, so three gens at lunch. Father and I close friends since 9th grade. Restaurant is right in middle of largest suburban mall outside of Philadelphia. Thankfully the PA Turnpike has an exit right there as the traffic is nuts. Then off to my sister's home in Princeton for a long nap and then don't intend to budge from in front of their roaring fireplace.

Last time I tried pulling T-stakes out with a 4-in-1 bucket I cut a couple in two and had to weld 'em back together. Hope you have better luck with your posts, Eric!

just raced outside to bring in an amaryllis plant I had in the car, as I looked outside and oh my everything is frozen.
Not only below 32, but a dense fog out and it's like the fog has frozen too.
Aahhh, coffee ready, friend's machine set on timer and not brew and took forever to get my coffee, til I went back and troubleshooted all the switches. Where there's a will there's a way...good coffee and marvelous carrot muffin, while it looks like Nome Alaska outside.

I've already had my usual quota of 4 big cups of coffee, in my TBN cup, and our temperature is 66 going for a high of 78 today. But that's all supposed to change the rest of the week. It's finally supposed to start feeling like Winter.

Really enjoyed my time with Drew yesterday, I like him and I don’t care what y’all say! Lol
Ice fog here as well, what a mess, gotta remember it when I step out to feed what’s left of the outdoor cats. More going to the shelter later.
