52F and sunny @ 14:00. Just beautiful out.

Was 48F in shop when I got up here, 75F now.

Mike and Scott stopped by and unloaded that 12' long piece of angle and dropped off one of his Rigid pipe jacks to support the angle in the drill press whilst I drill it.

Cut the 8' piece to length in the bandsaw and marked and punched it for the holes.

Have to go down and stick our turkey in the oven @ 15:00.

Will see how many of the 42 holes I get drilled between now and then ...

Good mornin, in for a warm up, another 50knot day today:/

Kyle, I always have a lot of leftover tomatoes in the fall and don't have the option of leaving them out even covered.

I bring them in and wrap each one in newspaper and put in the pantry. ( chilly @50°) a few days before I want to eat some I bring them to a window and unwrap.
I just ate the last two yesterday and I brought them in the 3rd week of sept.

surprisingly easy drive home, but heavy smoke across route 95 south of Ladysmith exit, where I always wave to David/Mosswoods as I drive by.
This time it was getting hard to see in the smoke.
$2.29 for regular, nice to get up to VA and still have a third of a tank left.
I'm really surprised Virginia gas is so cheap, would think they would have higher taxes to support their really excellent roads.

Hope you all have a nice weekend. Tomorrow I have Christmas lights to start on. Not quite in the mood yet...though I did buy myself a new nicely discounted Dewalt cordless grease gun today at TSC as my xmas present, so I guess I'd better get cracking.

Also had an easy drive home, no snow today.
PA has high gas prices, so i avoid buying it there. I can make it home on one tank, so filled up at costco once i got back.
And a car wash to get the road salt off.
Had to come home early, boys fly out early sunday, back to college.

Fill up also today at HEB $2.10 for regular, also saw a guy run out of HEB carrying two 24 pacs of beer. Little thief.

Ordered Whipper's Christmas gift today - they had a black Friday sale that included Free subscription of the sim card on the tracker for life. I forgot to ask who's life, the company's, mine, or Whipper's.

Happy birthday David!!

Couldn稚 have been a very small thief. 48 bottles of beer weigh a bit, plus it痴 awkward. Shame somebody needs beer that bad! My boxer and the terrier have about 2 acres fenced in, and they walk with me in the woods without a leash, that area is unfenced, but they are happy to stay with me.

I just let the kids out, plus we are watching a dachshund mix for a friend. It痴 funny watching him try to keep up with the boxer.

I cleaned out the wood stove chimney today, blew some leaves, and then went to lunch with my wife, a friend joined us, we ended up spending 3 hours at lunch, then coffee at bigbes coffee. Really realizing that I am blessed, great wife and good friends!

Good evening all. 43F this morning, clear, calm wind. High temp was 76F, moderate wind and clear sky. Took wife and stepdaughter to new quilt shop, then to lunch and Costco. Picked up new TV that will not fit on tv stand by 1/2 inch.:ashamed::mad: Poor planning, but new stand on order.

Happy birthday David:drink:

Don, the answer to your question is, the first of the three events concludes the lifetime warranty.

Drew glad you have a good trip. wave for me to David as you go by. Got to met him a few years back in STL.

RS, how big are those 42 holes?

RNG my browser does not like your font, so by the time I see your post the number of special characters mixed in camouflage your special punctuation.

Farmer, glad you made it back.

Thanks Guys.

Disappointing trip to Honda dealer. After hour and a half they decided the part didn’t fit. Looked like it should, part number accurate, but a no go.

I was at HD while wife was waiting at dealership. Only got a few things I had planned to get, just too crowded for me. Sat on a bench sipping cup of coffee near exit and watched as thousands of dollars worth of stuff passed by. Pretty envious of all the high end battery tools etc. so much for how poor people are, but then again I keep my credit cards paid off monthly.

Good morning all. Our grass has a light covering of sloppy wet snow and with a forecast of sleet for the next 24 hours, this is likely to be the first day the sheep clear out the hay racks instead of taking only an occasional snack.

I spent a couple of happy hours yesterday manually splitting some elm rings that were just over 2' in diameter and 15" thick. When I got a log slitter I thought those days were over, then quickly realised even that wasn't too keen on finding a way through twisted elm and it was still hard work manoeuvring the biggest pieces around to get them below the hydraulic ram. Now I'm back to taking my time to do these odd one or two the old way with wedges, plus an occasional bit of encouragement from the chainsaw on any really stubborn pieces. My wife thinks I simply haven't grown up yet and just enjoy playing with a big hammer.

Don, bet you can't wait to see where Whipper gets to.
I wonder how deep she thinks she needs to bury the tracker to loose the signal :)

Good morning all.

It is a balmy 39 out and the high is supposed to be 36. Rain in the forecast. At least it isn't freezing rain.
Wind W 8 mph.

Eric, I have found in the past (I don't do it anymore) that Elm splits real good IF you can let it freeze and then get your workout when the temps are -40F. You will still get a workout from it, but not nearly as much as when it is not frozen.

Have a good day, all!

Drinking first cup of coffee. 47° with rain this morning. Heading to 48° with cloudy skies. We have hit the high for today. Off to Menard's to complete wife's list. Then it will be a indoor day. Work on filling drawers in new cabinet.
Good Morning All.

31 going to 63.

Happy Birthday, David. Sorry your Pilot doesn't like its new handle.

Kyle, congrats on your tire holding air. Maybe you got it this time. Try fried green tomatoes.

My oldest son and his wife burn a woodstove, and have a number of dead oaks on their property he has been cutting down. I've driven my splitter over there and helped him cut and split, but it's a 40 mile roundtrip and I don't think those splitters are really made for a lot of highway use, and max speed is warned at 45mph. Plus with his work schedule he often doesn't have a big chunk of time to put into one session.

So, took advantage of the Black Friday sale on the 25 ton TSC splitter and picked one up after going to the gym for him for an early Christmas present from my wife and I, and his two brothers. Looks like they improved the splitter since the one I bought a few years ago. First time I'm done any "Black Friday" shopping...TSC was very busy. I'll still go over and cut wood with him, but won't tow my splitter. ...and Eric, I won't carry my splitting axe.

Good leftovers yesterday, and many games or corn hole until dark.

Today is our anniversary...39 years. We got married when we were 8 years old :).

Yep, I needed a couple of 3/4” shackles yesterday and thought that Tractor Supply would be safe. The parking lot was full! Spent 20 minutes in store only to find that they had only one of the shackles I needed and it didn’t have a tag on it so it could not be scanned at checkout. TSC is turning into a cheap clothing store with high prices!

25 mile round trip and an hour wasted. Went back to Ranch and ordered what I needed, on Amazon, and will be delivered Monday.

Rant over.

BTW, Happy Birthday David!

Happy Anniversary to the Wingsprds!

27 right now...high in the upper 40's.

Maybe I'll get to that spout cleaning I've been putting off for two weeks!

The electronic muffs worked quite well...used a 9mm to test them. 9mm isn't the loudest gun I have, but other then .22LR, it's what I shoot most frequently. Should work well when running the tractor or mower too.

I believe I'd mentioned my truck was in the shop for scheduled maintenance and I'd rented a Corolla for the day. The job is taking longer then expected, so I swapped out the Corolla for another Tacoma so I can haul some diesel. That's a chore today too.

Happiest of Birthdays, David...and, of course, Happy Anniversary to our friends, the Wingsprds!
