Peanut butter attracts bears, and deer like it, too. The neighbors tie metalized mylar ribbons to their electric fences, then smear the ends with peanut butter. The deer lick the ends once, maybe twice, and leave the garden alone. After a while, the peanut butter isn't needed any longer.
Hope your mom gets better, Ed. It's hard rolling with the punches her aging body is throwing, and going along with what the doctors say they can and can't do. Not much choice, other than to somehow shrug it off and just keep going. Stay strong my friend!
That WAS a lovely sky the other night, and i'd have missed it had I not glanced out the window in time. Whatever I was doing was still there waiting on me the next day, but that sunset was as fleeting as those geese it surrounded. The beauty of nature and the wonders of the world surround us, and all we have to do is look up to enjoy them...
German/Mexican, Don? Those're gonna be some stubbornly spicy tamales!
Had to adjust the bearing stack in the front wheel yesterday; I guess a millimeter in India isn't the same as the ones they had in the sixties over in France? Both bearing sets were made by SKF, even paid extra to get 'em 'cause I thought somehow they'd be better than the much cheaper Chinese imports. Silly me...
Got all the spokes swapped out, and started tightening spokes before being overtaken by a growling tummy reminding me it was dinner time. And time to put a few things away and cover up some other things in preparation for today's rain, and to take out the trash. A spicy bowl of left over chili was my reward, and a glass or two of a fruity red blend to wash it down.
More spoke tightening, then some truing and dishing, and maybe finishing that wheel today. Then on to making some tools to disassemble the shocks; they need new fluid and seals...
Hope everyone's week gets off to a good start!
