Good morning, the sun is shining and the "random" animal inspector that was due to come and check that every ewe out of a sample of 60 all have functional RFID tags in their ears (otherwise we get a fine) has cancelled, so things are looking about as good as it gets.

I gotta go to the butchers today, so I will have to bite the bullet and pay out $1.239/Litre of gas. That works out not including exchange to $4.68/US gallon. YUK!

LFN, I was about to sympathise with you as I also filled up this week at 1.23 per litre. Then I realised I pay in English pounds, so in dollars that's $1.62 per litre ($6.13 /US gallon). Hope that makes you feel a little better - I changed to a petrol/electric hybrid last year to save me bending over so often. :)

Ed, how are you getting on with your Toyota hybrid ? I still smile each time I go down a hill and realise I'm recharging the batteries instead of wearing down the brakes.

Good Morning.
17 and going to a high of 27. Mostly cloudy, wind NNW 8mph.

Eric, she took exactly 60 L of regular at $1.239/L minus a $0.05/L coupon.
I had trouble with the fuel tank a couple of years ago and opted for a 94 L tank. So at 60L I still have a 3rd of a tank left. The upside is that I have more flexibility about where I fuel. The downside is that it is expensive when I do fuel up.

In a vehicle with good compression, one shouldn't need to 'ride the brakes' going down hills. Just pick a lower gear.

Good morning all, 32 going to 54 and sunny. Back is still tight this morning but loosened up fairly good yesterday, hope it is a trend. Got the dust collector remote working yesterday and just did the required stuff. Today will likely be about the same.

Kyle, Hope and pray that your boy is well and back to normal.

Eric, Thanks for the pic's. The Toyota is doing great, we get .10 off a gal for every $100 we spend at the grocery. Right now I have .70 cent off a gallon and still have 3/4 of a tank. :D That makes me happy. A few mounts ago I got gas for 70 something cents a gal.

Have a great day. Ed

Need to pour first cup of coffee. 32° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 42° with mostly cloudy skies. Eary morning doctor appointment today. With stops at Menard's and Sams Club. Then back home and work on winterizing garden pond. Started checking out speed reducer project. Next thing I know it's done and working good. All other projects are still waiting. La Crosse weather station is working great. App is not. Maybe they will get it working in a few years.

Rick, consider square drive screws. Our Canadian neighbors call them Robertson drive screws. Other than time consuming. I would pre-drill and tap all the holes. Then put anti-seize on all the screws when installed. You will need good quality galvanized screws for treated wood.

Eric, over $6.00 a gallon for gas. Will not take long to pay for that HYBRID.

Good Morning All.

Ed, hope the back improves quickly, Kyle, hope the boy is better.
Around 40 this morning, 50’s and very windy today, wind through the weekend with 45 mph gusts Saturday night.
Got another letter from SS yesterday saying my benefit would go up about 40%. I’m confused!
I’ve had a couple of rough days, especially yesterday, spent a lot of time hugging her sweater. I know it’ll get better someday.

Ah, those were the days ... Now many of our cars have been made more fuel efficient, engine breaking is almost getting to be a thing of the past. My wife's car isn't a hybrid and coming down the track to our house with the CVT in "M1", it still needs a good brake-devouring push on the pedal to save flying off over the fence

30 frosty and clear going to 56.

Kyle, I hope your guy is feeling better today.

Rick, sounds like you're doing a really good job on the trailer, so hopefully you won't have to repeat in 10 years.

Took advantage of the nice 63 degrees day yesterday to wash 28 windows. Only did the outside, so the hard part is still due - inside. Plus, have more windows to do outside. The cold weather has alerted me to how old and stiff my hoses are getting (and my body on some days)...need new ones by spring. I think I've read threads on "best" garden hoses, but does anyone have a favorite?
