Gary Pyburn was a friend and recently passed away.
Wow, sorry to hear that. He was the owner and for the 7-8 years that I worked in his store, through high school and college and even as a part time after I got another job, during the 70s. He had a plane and went on hunting trips and usually brought back a animal and put it in the store freezer. He really held the store together. I started out as a sacker then stocker, then asst mgr. He gave me a few raised and I thought I was making a lot when my hourly wages were $1.40. I was able to buy a motorcycle to drive to work, many trips down Anderson Road. I got my little brother a job there in the meat market and then the store got robbed when he was working and he got a gun pointed at him. My brother quit shortly after.
