One of the cable stations was playing "Tom Horn" last night, and old Steve McQueen movie. I didn't want to put up with the commercials, and "The Magnificent Seven" was already on the file server, so I watched that instead. Nothing better than a great cowboy movie where the good guys win in the end.

Look for a movie named "Open Range" on YouTube...great western and, the whole movie is on YouTube
Kevin Costner and Robert Duvall star...

I have both The Magnificent Seven and Open Range recorded on my DVR. I don't have Tom Horn recorded, but certainly have watched it at least twice.

Another overcast dreary day, no drizzle so far, they say the sun may peak out and get us into the 70’s before the first blast of Canadian air hits tonight. It was supposed to be hot and sunny all weekend, oh well.

54°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 63° today. We had a cool front push through early this morning, and it brought with it a little rain and a lot of wind. Supposed to clear up later.

The electrician spent the day yesterday finishing up the little things in the basement, like installing the remaining outlets and cover plates, and mounting a few more lights. Some of the new overhead lights have an LED array mounted to a circular pcb on the base, instead of a screw-in bulb. Pretty neat. All of the inside work is now complete. Next weekend he is coming back to look at replacing the damaged box in the well house, and running a new line out to the barn. Be nice to have power out there again.

Drew, your neighbor definitely looks like he was enjoying himself.

68°F and another .5 inches welcome rain since midnight.

Cancer walk was a good time, just enough rain to keep cool.

Watch some football today

Be safe
Have a great day

74F and very windy @ 12:00 as the cold front approaches, the rain is about 1 - 2 hours away. Should be in the upper 40's by 02:00 tonight.

Got the hose clearance issue on the front aux hydraulics fixed yesterday first thing. Just needed to add a washer on one of the bulkhead fittings to shim it out.

Zack stopped down yesterday and had a look at the sawing I need done, I followed him back up to Grandpa's to have a look at what all they had gotten done since the floor was poured in the barn addition. They've moved a lot of the equipment inside and pretty much filled it up ... but at least it's organized and you can mostly walk around inside. Got a workbench and some shelving built as well.

After that I got all the huge firewood rounds pulled out of the weeds yesterday so Zack can chainsaw them in half when he stops by to buck the large oak logs later this coming week.

Later in the afternoon I went up to a neighbors since I had the grapple on and moved a pile of sticks that the grass had grown up through onto his burn pile.

This afternoon I have to take the van and go over to the Depot with Mike and pick up 18 sheets of drywall for his basement project. He has one 4' and three or four 8' fluorescent fixtures for me, that he's replaced with LED's ... will probably hang them in the garage to replace the two 200w incandescent bulbs.

The low this morning was 20*, yesterday's high was in the low 40's with a cold wind all day. Today's has been nice in the mid 50's now and no wind. It may get up to the low 60's

Was out looking for Elk this morning. We didn't see anything so came back to the house for lunch. Will be going back out in a few hours.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

Drywall pick up cancelled due to rain, will reschedule for a dry day. I did manage to pick up the fluorescent fixtures ... it was one 4' and four 8'. The 8' all had rapid-start ballasts, not sure about the 4' but I'll bet it does as I think they all came out of his barn. Got the tubes as well ... the 8' are all HO (96w) ... should light up the garage pretty well.

First band of rain has come through ... some lighter bands behind it. It rained hard for a short period but it doesn't look as though we really got anything significant (no puddles or standing water)

Thinking ahead to winter projects, I plan to spend some of the rest of the day in the CAD program, laying out a sandblast cabinet I want to build. Thinking 5' long x 3' deep x 3' high. I may have most of the angle for it already, just need the sheet metal. Can use the gun/hose from my Sears sandblaster and probably use the Shopvac with a HEPA cartridge to filter the air. Glass and gaskets for the window is available from TP Tools over in Youngstown, along with other accessories.

Rounds I rounded up for sawing in half before splitting:

Not all of them need done, just the larger ones ... which are still mucho heavy even after seasoning for a year.

RS, that's a fine crop of hernias. Be careful.

CWB, 20 degrees? I'll keep my current 77. I bet you've got a wood stove cranked up.

David, new guests all settled in?
