Good morning, dark clouds were in retreat as I opened the curtains and now it's mostly clear sky. With no weather excuses for the next few hours, it is time I got on with the greenhouse base. I find 3' by 2' paving slabs just a little too heavy nowadays, so yesterday I made myself a little tool to help lower or lift the far edge of a slab while keeping my back straight. It may work and even if not, it was another good excuse to play at a little more welding.

Already 68 with a high around 77-78. Looks like rain is on the horizon. Good thing, i tried mowing the other day and it is so dry I couldn't breathe with all the dust.

Waiting for first cup of coffee to cool enough to drink. 59° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 77° with some morning clouds. Got another .33" rain yesterday. Grass is growing like it was spring. Sure is recovering fast from the drought. Not much planned today unless I decide to wash windows this morning.
Buckeye, pig roast looks good.
Good Morning All.

73 and humid, going to 81.

We finally got a small shower this morning. I haven't been down to check the rain gauge yet, but the nearby Weather Underground station reports .12, so I am delighted. Maybe more today and tomorrow.

Buppies, yes, I feel blessed. ...and Hokies won!...but not the Tar Heels:(

BEF, I've never seen a pig come out of the roast looking that good. Go get that PT!

Eric, I bet others could use a tool like you made. Maybe a patent?

Need to dust off my to-do list of things outside that I put off until the ground was damp again.

Good morning all, 71 this morning going to 77 with 80% chance of rain, 100% chance tonight!!!!! The trip to get Mom yesterday 175 mi, was uneventful and we have her mostly settled in her room. Glad to have her back with us. Today I am hoping to take it easy and just rest, buy we will see.

Buckeye, He looks scared stiff to me. :D

Farmer, Sweet zero, looks like fun.

Ron, Thanks, we are leaning hard toward getting one, just haven't done it yet. Yep I am on a diet very much like Don's, wife isn't though. Don's post about fried okra about settled it for us, we used to have about 5 rows about 60 ft long of okra and miss it with the low fat thing.

Have a great day. Ed

65F upper 70's for high w/chance of rain at anytime.

Plans for today...quick trip to town, depending on the weather little trimming mowing around the home, watch little nascar, just take the day as it comes.

Enjoy the day all.

Good Morning!
Temp at 60F and light rain. 30% chance of rain just became 100%.
I still have a couple of projects to finish off, but first I need to clean out the big truck from the summers' accumulation of junk, magazines and just all round 'stuff' that I acquire.
One more out of town haul and I should be almost done with this summers' work.
For all the Canadians, Happy Turkey Day!

Thomas for some reason I think a fox ate the bees. Is that reasonable?
.......................................
Just about anything possible in wildlife world.
We seen skunks many times at night dig out ground hives also eat the bees.

64 right now...high in the upper 70's and probably rain.

Didn't get any of my plans chores done yesterday...wasn't feeling good by about 0800 and got progressively worse. No plans today...catch up on some recorded movies. I watched one last night..."The Gallant Hours", a biopic of Admiral "Bull" Halsey.

WOW! Walked outside with the dog early this morning and couldn't believe the cool air I walked into. NWS says it's 50 degrees, but going for a seasonal high of 87.

Nice and cool in Texas and warm and muggy here, Bird stop hogging the nice air! ;)

my neighbor's okra patch was producing like mad this summer, he said they put away a huge amount of it, and it just kept coming.
I saw yesterday it was all pulled up. I think they had the all the okra they could deal with. A prolific vegetable, at least here.
It's still growing season here, for me the second garden planted, green pepper picked yesterday.

going down to barn to put final coat of red on that mower deck. I had touched up one little spot and the overspray messed up the adjacent area
too much, so....one more time. Do it all, keep moving, and don't fiddle with it when you're done. My friend had helped me put the deck on edge so I could paint the parts
I couldn't reach. Sure would be nice to have a rotisserie setup. No more drips then.
Then I'll start painting the frame, from which the deck is suspended. And when all the little pieces are painted, then I put them back together
truly like Humpty Dumpty. On this project I did not mark parts when I took them off, knowing I had an identical twin unit to inspect to hopefully get it right.
And honestly this is not really complicated like one of RNG's wiring harnesses.

The most challenging part is that Gravely used odd sized bolts; the lengths are all a quarter inch off what I can get in the normal parts bins. So I'm making quite a few custom bolts, not hard to do. Just have to remember to put the nut on first.

Sunday morning. A quiet time by tradition, which I enjoy.

Morning, starting the 2nd cup of coffee, thinking of painting a little trim today at my wife's shop. Need to go to HD, pick up a few things. I might do a little tractor work, but time will tell.

Have a good one!

I renovated a mower deck early this year, I took the deck, stripped down, to a sand blaster. He also put on some polyureathane paint. After I put it on, it kept throwing the belt. I replaced the idler spring, and it was fine. I guess the spring just lost tension over time. A 1996? Craftsman.

The low this morning was 35*, yesterday's high was 65*. Today's going to be clear this morning and overcast by the afternoon. With a chance of rain and snow showers overnight. The high will be in the mid 40's with 15-20 mph wind.

Not much planned for today, just see how it goes.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

Roy are you happy with the new rifle?

Didn't pick it up as planned...as I'd written in my first post today, I was feeling poorly yesterday (still am, BTW).
I called the guy at the gun shop...I'll pick later this week or next Saturday. Since the rifle has no iron sights, it'll require a scope (picked up a Leopold 2-7x33mm a few days ago). The plan is to head to a buddy's hunting camp next weekend to sight it in.
I'll post my "critique" next weekend....but all the reviews I've read and watched give the Ruger American Ranch in .223/5.56 very good reviews.

60 this morning and headed to 76 today. Currently 62. Think it might struggle. The rain from Nate is just getting here, but the cold front that came through last night dropped 5 inches on us.

After all that rain I've got fences to check and see what was washed out. Should soften the ground for some post hole drilling this week.

There were some good salads also, but why take a picture of them? Lol

Because they are delicious and life sustaining.
But most importantly the salad & plant sides pic would be very impressive and appetizing.:licking: :)

Good Morning!!!! 67F @ 9AM. 0% Precip. / 0.00 i. Sunny. High 79F. Winds NNE at 15 to 25 mph.

Another Red Flag Fire Warning for today and tomorrow, with a Wind Advisory for tonight. Winds gusting to 40 MPH and humidity dropping into the teens means fire will spread quickly if one gets going. Hope people, including my immediate neighbors, will be careful. During last week's RFFW, they were out limbing up pine trees with a chainsaw. Ever cut wood after dark with a chainsaw and seen the steady stream of sparks coming off the blade?

Got the body of the transmission tool and the pin wrench made yesterday, but still need to weld a nut and long handle to the body today. Then quench and temper the pin wrench. Then we'll see if the nut will come off, and if the taper holding the output flange can be broken. Or if the tool will fail.:confused2:

Took a rack of baby backs out to defrost yesterday, and will put them into the BBQ to smoke starting about lunch time. Would be nice to enjoy them on the porch watching the sunset, if the wind's not blowing too hard...

Hope everyone has a nice, quiet, Sunday.
