68°F and cloudy with some light sprinkles this morning, going up to 77° today. We got some nice steady rain much of yesterday, and are still expecting some more today. It's a welcome relief from how dry everything has gotten here.

I bet PJ knows how to play this stuff

I can't recall that I've ever had the opportunity to play any of the Traveling Wilburys' music. It's not really technically challenging stuff, as their focus was on great songwriting ... at which they succeeded in spades. I have played a few songs here and there over the years by some of the individual members, though; Lynne (ELO), Harrison (Beatles & solo), Orbison, and Petty. All of those guys were great songwriters on their own.

Disturbing images from the Vegas shooting now showing up on the 'net, along with details of how it was carried out. Not good, as it will inspire copycats and give them everything needed to do a better job. And that will be the fault of the media, not the guns.

Agreed, RNG. This is one of those times when the flood of instant information is not a good thing. Some stuff just doesn't need to be so readily available.

Just now getting my first cup of coffee! I got into some candy last night, really shouldn't, as I am diabetic. End result was very little sleep. I am helping the wife out a bit, I am going to bed early tonight!

On our trip to Florida, I saw some crops that I am not familiar with. I thought I was looking at some really bushy soybeans, then I saw the white pods - cotton! We went thru a area that was very heavy dairy, big fields full of round bales. Pecans were another new thing for us. Btw, I noticed some pretty big Kubota tractors. I guess they are getting more common on the bigger farms. Also lots of cab tractors! I think A/C would be really appreciated in this climate.

Have a good one!

Yeah, but the public would never stand for censorship. And I feel that evil would find a way. I have a couple friends that have pretty good gun collections, 100 plus items. They are gun nuts ! But they are harmless. It's the mentally ill guys, basically nuts with guns, that are dangerous. I really don't know what the solution is.

Oh, I agree that censorship is not the answer. However, I think some judicious pruning of details wouldn't hurt. I think that's a product of the 24 hour news cycle. They have to fill that time with something.

I am pretty much a gun nut, too, but my collection is much more modest at about two dozen. I also know some people with more than one large safe filled beyond capacity. Like you, I don't have a problem with that. Collecting guns is what they do. I think it will always be a challenge to weed out the dangerous people, though. Not all are so outward with their illnesses.

71°F and .95 inches of much needed rain. Just over 72 in ytd and hard to believe less than 3 inches all of Sep. Whole of the island considered to be in drought status.

Have to see if it drys or rain continues.

Petty sure did make some memorable music.

Be safe.
Have a great day

81F and partly cloudy @ 13:45 with some showers in the area. Looks like we have multiple shots over the next ten days ... hopefully it will materialize here eventually.

Forecast still calling for high 70's/low 80's until next Tuesday, then into the 60's for highs.

Got almost all of the wood chips moved yesterday, just a little to finish getting the logs out of.

Been thinking about splitting some more wood, won't do that before it cools off some more though.

Also need to clear an area up by the shop where I can stack it once it's split.

The Kubota is in bad need of a wash, won't bother with it until we get some rain as it would be covered with dust in no time.

Got the toilet installed and the rest of the grab bars. Taking it as easy as I can this evening. We are very dry here as well. Chance of showers Sat. night through the end of NWS forecast so I hope we get some.

Drew the deck looks good, the bugs just add charm. :D

Have a good night. Ed

Drew, if I ever bought a fixer upper from a dealer, I would make part of the deal for them to sell me parts at dealer cost plus shipping associated to that tractor, up to some number. Like maybe $1000 worth??? Or else let them fix the things before purchasing at an agreed to option.

I was looking at a very sad shape mower, similar to Ron's F style deere and it needed A LOT OF LOVE. Love meaning $$$ of parts and time. I never even began to haggle as I really did not need it,,,,but if I did, I would ask for the above type of deal.

Good evening all. 74F this morning overcast, calm and .6 in rain in the gauge. The rain will take the edge off as that is more rain than all of Sept. High Temp was 87F, gusty winds again, and sky cleared off. No rain in forecast till next Monday night. :(. Men's meeting, bike ride, lunch, nap, clean up work bench. Back on seat bottom tomorrow.
