63°F and partly cloudy this morning, Going up to 88° today (17.2°/31.1°C for Eric's conversion ... and neither are my age

). Looks like that three days of promised rain has been reneged. We really could have used more that the mere light sprinkling we got yesterday evening.
Sad day at the Smith house yesterday, as I had to put down our 11-year-old outside cat. The Wife had rescued her and a male sibling from near her ex-husband's farm when they were kittens. She named them Yin and Yang. Yin died from some rare cat disease at around 1 year old. 10 years later, Yang is buried next to him under a tree in the back yard. Never an easy thing.
On a lighter note, our electrician was at the house all day Friday until almost 7pm, and came back for four hours Saturday morning, and now he's pretty much done. Once the carpenter comes back and finished closing the walls and spraying texture, we can paint, and the electrician will come back and finish the outlets and coverplates. It's incredible to see the amount of work he's done, and we came in a bit under the expected budget. Progress.
Got an old wood chair repaired Saturday for The Wife, one she used at her desk in her sewing room. It's a good, solid chair she found in an antique store, but the seat was never connected to the frame. With the aid of a few L-brackets, it's now connected. When she removed it again to recover the seat, I'll replace the brackets with some proper oak cleats.
Happy (belated) Birthday, Ed.
