And we expect to be here until we either die or our kids put us in a nursing home.

That's kind of our thoughts, too, Bird. During this remodel, we kept in mind the idea of "aging-in-place." If mobility ever becomes an issue for either of us, the addition of a ramp to the back door will be the only major change needed.

I just turned 51 last month, and she'll be 50 (er, I mean 29 again :D) in December. We're hoping any of that will still be a little way down the road for us.

Got my new glasses today, pretty good out of the box, might have to tweak fit a little. Pretty day, warm and humid but not miserable.

Back to somewhat clear air, smoke has been blown out of area mostly. High elevations in Montana are getting some snow so that will slow down and hopefully put those fires out. Rains are expected Sunday night locally so if Washington fires get some rain, perhaps we will be done with smoke season for the year.

My wife eats a banana EVERY morning, and they've been 48 cents a pound at Walmart for quite a few years, but at one of the Walmart Neighborhood Markets earlier this week, I got them for 29 cents a pound.

72 degrees this morning, going for 96 (85 at the moment). I figure my shoulder replacement has healed enough for me to get back to doing the things I normally do. So this morning I mowed, edged, and trimmed our own yard and one neighbor's yard. Didn't actually hurt me, but I'm sure tired and sore; haven't been doing much work since the shoulder replacement on April 24.
Glad your shoulder is better. I paid .64 /lb for organic bananas day before. The regular ones were .48 at HEB.

Wonder if they sell a 3pt snow blower for this tractor I saw on facebook? Swivel the cab around and not have to turn and look backwards... or just put one on the front..

You better get two. One for the front yard and one for the back. :)

Zenni glasses?

Went to back dr. Said a little bulging, but not bad for my age. Says its inflammation, just needs time. Limited in what he can give me due to being on blood thinner. Stopped one of my pain meds that i shouldn't have been given due to blood thinner. Gotta start prednisone in couple days, need to get off my antibiotic first.

Back is feeling a lot better, as long as i keep up with pain meds.

Just chilling listening to George Strait. now.

Good morning. A couple of relatively dry days are coming our way, which falls in nicely with a visit by our daughter and family this weekend. She only has a few more weeks to go before their second child is due and has really appreciated the low temperatures over the late summer months.

Some dog food factory will be a little low on production this week. ...

That stuff is as slick as a greased door knob.

Is the taste as good as that texture ? :D

It wouldn't put our dog off, amazing how they can eat things long deceased without any adverse effects - a skill we humans seem to have lost somewhere in our evolution.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 54° with some fog this morning. Heading to 81° with mostly sunny skies. Got tools put away yesterday after a call from a good RV friend. He called to say goodbye. Still have tears in my eye after him telling me that he only has a few days left. He was diagnosed with lung cancer in December. In April we visited in him in NM on our way home. All looked good with a positive treatment plan. But things turned downward earlier this week after a stay at hospital. Doctor visit yesterday told him that there was not going to many more days left. The 1/2 hour call ended with me wondering what I should have said to him. Going to call him back early next week. His family has flown in to be with him this weekend. He will be under Hospice care. I have no plans for today.
Buckeye, glad your back pain in getting better.
Good Morning All.

Ron, glad you got to see your friend earlier this year...sad news.

BEF, glad back is a bit better.

Bird, sounds like you are jumping back into things in a big way. Please be careful.

Took it easy yesterday...came down with my first cold in a very long time...bad enough that I finally took a generic for Claritin last night.

Well, out to feed the hummingbirds...all the males have migrated, but many females and young are still here.

The leaves on the burning bush in front of the house are starting to turn and noticed some on the maples turning as well guess fall is rolling in.
Buckeye glad your doing better take it slow brother had back surgery in April took him months to really feel close to normal. Extra caution on the blood thinners.
Ron prayers for your friend, lost my mom to cancer 6 months ago, terrible disease.
Enjoy your day everyone.

73 degrees going for 94 today. I'll be making Chicken a la King today. My wife and I both like the rotisserie chickens at Walmart and Sam's Club, but when they have one that's getting too old, they mark it down to half price and I always buy those. I remove skin and bones, chop it up and make the Chicken a la King that we both like. She puts hers on rice and I put mine on whole wheat toast.

And since I use one whole chicken, I make a double recipe, so yep, have plenty for both today and tomorrow.
