50 right now...high about, well, not much warm up...maybe the low 50's today.

Probably no outdoor activities today. I'd purchased a couple Blu-Rays, so that might be the plan.

Another plan is to give you folks a rundown on a very delightful trip to Mount Equinox. I'm downloading pictures from my phone, so when that's done, I'll post them and the details.

Hi guys.
Turned 54 today! Man, it's going by faster and faster. Last night I woke up a little after midnight and standing on the deck looking out over the lake with the summer night cool breeze under a clear sky and full moon made me thankful for this first half of a lifetime. Hope to live every day of the rest of it if you know what I mean.

Enough of that. Got the rocks moved in place and the crepe myrtles planted. With the cooler temps, dear wife came out to help off and on through the day so it was an enjoyable project.

Today? Not sure yet. Probably bring some more dirt up from the "back 40" and fill some low spots I noticed.

Still have the flail mower to replace the blades in and the wood to cut up I pushed over with the backhoe I rented a couple weeks ago but don't feel like messing with those today.

Good day to all!

Here's the pictures. Not quite done but about done. IMG_2007.JPGIMG_2010.JPGIMG_2008.JPG
The orange bucket is a place holder for the 3rd tree we forgot to buy when we got those two.

One of the house with the yard semi cleaned up for once.IMG_2012.JPG

Oh yeah. Since this is a tractor forum.
I did wash the dust off and freshly grease everything before putting it away.

62 outside this AM. Moving to the high 70's mid 80's. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers, December 20th will be the day of need. Yeah, long way off but crazy schedule and lots of things that are going on these next few months. Pre-surgery work is a little more intensive that we had though, and it ain't local here in VA. But we went with what we thought was the best, so off to NYC we go.

With all the rain and cool temps the turkeys were out. Yesterday I stopped counting at thirty by the horse pen, due to a building obstruction. And then a little later about 6-10 by the pool fence. I ran into the house to get the camera and just caught one pic that came out OK. They must like the short grasses cause they certainly were exposed.

Hope all have a good holiday.

Drew, never knew that about gas and chlorine. Interesting, all these years, I know I have been lazy a few time and put the gas cans in the pool shed. Guess I am not doing that anymore.

Prayers for those impacted by Harvey.

The low this morning was 47*, yesterday high was 92*. To hot for this time of year. Going be like this tell the end of the week, so they say.

Happy birthday Lenny, hope you see many more.

I don't have any plans for today. I'm sure I'll find something that I think needs done.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

Lenny it's sunshine just about everywhere today and that's because it's your birthday!

really is nice to see the sun come out. Have to wait another day before playing in the fields, over two inches last night and it's too wet
out there.

67°F and no rain.

Got some mowing yesterday along the drive from the county road, along the coconuts I planted awhile back. Should get a pic as the area is looking nice.

Need to look at golf cart and reason why not running right. Guessing the carb. Doesn't accelerate when given more throttle, actually loses rpms

Be safe
Have a great day

Happy middle age, Lenny. May your second half be rewarding.

Good Afternoon! 91˚ no wind, muggy. Nice pics Lenny and riptide.
Kyle - no lines in Giddings because no fuel. Buckey's ran out at 10 AM this morning and they don't know when they will be replenished. Also out are Brookshires, Rattlers, and several larger stations. That means the smaller 2 pump places will run out soon. I was able to find fuel at a 2 pump station on Hwy21. They had bags on one pump so I guess people thought both pumps were out, but the other one was still working. News say they will get deliveries back to normal in about 2 weeks. I'm glad I did not have to go all the way to Weimar to get gas.

The watermelon was not the sweetest, Harvey messed that up. It's best on the last 2 weeks of getting ripe that a watermelon gets no water to be the sweetest. On the question of seeds vs no seed watermelon that is a toss up depends when they were picked, weather and soil.

70F and partly sunny @ 14:00, high predicted to be 72F for the day. High Monday predicted to hit 81F and then into the 60's and 70's for the rest of the 10 day. Negligible rainfall over the last few days. Chance of rain Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Probably at least mow down here around the house. Should be able to get the front lawns too ... can't imagine that it could be all that wet but who knows.

We drove around a good bit today in Denton. Without actually counting, it appeared that about two-thirds of the gas stations were out of gas. I bought gas at Sam's Club ($2.589 a gallon) and noticed that most (if not all) the other stations that still have gas have it priced at $2.659).

Skipped the lawn mowing until after the rain gets here.

Ended up screening compost up by the shop. Got a good bit done and a big pile, but probably only a quarter done, if that.

Need to locate the push broom to clean the screen though as a rake ain't cutting it.

RS, can you post some recent pics of your compost screens? I'm thinking of doing something similar here. Looking to steal any good ideas.
