Riptides, hope the swelling and itching goes down. I got stung two weeks ago twice on the ankle and once on the arm, thankfully extremities. Took three days for itching to stop.
Almost headed for the epi pen. Just be extra careful for the next few days not to get stung again.
I've asked all my bees to stay in the orchards and not come out...;)

finally starting my day after almost five hours of driving to and from the Raleigh airport, doing my good deed by giving a friend a ride so she could fly back to Williamsport and see her grandson in the Little League Championships. Many parents have costs easily exceeding ten grand for this, flights, 200 a night hotels booked solid there, was nice that a bagel shop in Greenville shelled out over thirty grand sponsorship money to pay the first five days of hotels for families in need. I hope he/she gets a lot of bagel business for being so generous.

86 here, thunderstorms late in day. I'll make sure they come by going out and watering trees now...always works.
Best wishes for Texas, Houston has over ten inches of rain predicted, but I don't see any indication where the storm is headed from there.

haven't heard from Larro in a long time. Tip of the hat to him.
Not a chilly time in North Florida...

Buckeye, do you have any small animals that fox wants for dinner?

Grew up without farm animals, and always had really big dogs on our farm, so the den of red foxes back in the woods
never bothered us. Big solid granite overhang with a small cave like area underneath, perfect for the foxes with good vision out the front.
We called it the Foxes Cave and it was so and perhaps still is.

I had to shoot a rabid red fox at the end of our lane as a teenager. Think I used a shotgun. Biting its tail and running in circles, clearly not an
animal to reason with. Lead reasoning, a difficult task for a pacifist. One I thought about a lot for a long time afterwards.
Crazy animals need to get put down or they will bite you and infect you. Learned that from my grandfather who sadly used to beat any snake he saw to death
because with failing eyesight he wasn't quite sure if it was a rattlesnake. Lot of poor garter snakes bit the dust, and he often did it with his cane.
He was protecting his family, plain and simple.

Crazy people need to get .......now there's the problem. And ISIS would surely like to bite us and infect us...
A comment that belongs in Friendly Politics but I'm not going back in that mosh pit anymore.

off to do lots of watering.

Ed, thanks for prayers for wife.

Don, sorry about weather risk on fish fry, hope that all works out. Stay safe. I remember the success in years past.

Drew, no outside animals that are mine. Neighbors cats visit often. First fox I've seen in the yard. When it first saw me, it kept coming. Was hoping it wasnt rabid. Then it turned and ran into the treeline. I turned mower back down along my creek, turned back and the fox had followed me and was running towards me again, then it turned again and crossed the creek and went into the neighbors woods.

Good Morning!!! 87F @ 10:45AM. Sunny. High around 95F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.

Sounds like you need to spend some time debugging your shorts, Eric!

There are several good bee sting salves out there, most of them containing clove oil and one of the over the counter "canes"... I carry a small bottle on the motorcycles for when a bee, wasp, or yellowjacket flies down my neck or up my sleeve.

Popped the valve covers off the old motorcycle yesterday to clean the black paint off of them. They're not supposed to be painted, but that's the best way to hide scratches and worse. And did I find worst: Cracks patched with epoxy that went all the way through in several spots. Got it all cleaned off and I'll be spending a fair amount of time under the bucket today welding them up and filling in the ground off spots. Lots of grinding and sanding, too.:muttering:

Happy Hump Day, gang!

The NWS forecast a 60% chance of rain this morning. I guess they could say they got it right; my gauge had about .02" of rain in it.

We had a rabid coon here about a year ago, he was chasing the outdoor cats, me if I went out the door, looked really bad. Finally one of the smartest cats I ever saw, led him into the woods and did an end around on him and came out about a hundred yards back. Never saw the coon again.

Picked up my siding, J-channel and corners today, my new trailer is coming in handy.

Got in from barn work about a hour ago. Very tired. I need to take the advice I gave Drew a few days ago. Neighbor brought ladders and a worker over for the barn roof. One worker got a little over 1/2 roof coated. Biggest job of putting screws in loose panels is done. Will see if worker returns tomorrow. I hope he does. But I can complete job now that all high task are complete. Off to shower and bed.
