Randy, thought about opening a marina

It crossed my mind when I looked out earlier and it's deeper than last night.:D

Cloudy and comfortable this morning, not a bad day for a swim around the property.
Got to drive over to Lewis, DE to pick up a blade and weights I bought, didn't need them but they were cheap, what can I say?
I still use glyphosate, but y'all scared me, I might stop.
Have a good day folks!

Good morning all, 65 going to 80 today. Got a little rain last night, just north of us it poured. Easy day today, I hope. Shrubbery is mulched with gravel and if I don't spray it grows fast. Like to know the way to not have to use Roundup. Have tried vinegar and a big propane torch, nether worked.

Have a great day. Ed

I haven't tried backing into the bamboo...
The bamboo is pretty tall...as tall as the tractor or more. I've been using the bucket to knock it down before the mower hits it. Most of the stalks are pulverized...some just knocked down.
I got started too late in the season to really clear this out...next year, I'll start much earlier (March or April).

I don't back into any brush. I've been raising the mower, backing up and mowing as I drive out. The full width roller would probably just knock the brush down and I wouldn't get as good a cut.

I have been told that if you spray a strong solution of Roundup on the freshly cut bamboo, that it can have a decent effect. Said you have to apply it immediately, like mount a spray boom on your shredder. It might take multiple applications too.

Ed, thanks for the buckwheat tip. My daughter is anxious to plant some stuff. I might plant a winter cover crop though.

Waiting for wifey to make coffee. I feel sore from wrestling with the 5420's front flat. Still have to take it in. Just getting it off was a bear. The bolts laughed at my 1/2" impact, so out came the 20lb gorilla 3/4" impact. Broke 'em free no problems. Then lifting the tire and rim into the back of the Yukon was awkward...I am not the bull in the china shop anymore. It probably weighs over a hundred pounds just guessing.

Roy, waiting to hear a report on your new pistola.

67 right now...upper 70's as the high.
Primary task today is to do some weed trimming...that's the first order of business.
After that, maybe some field mowing, as I'd post yesterday evening.

I think I wrote I did pick up that Ruger SR9C yesterday. I took a couple pics this morning and e-mailed them to me...but it's taking a long time to receive the pics. I'll post them later, along with some comments

69 outside this AM. Rain moved through last night and Friday night in a big time fashion. Airport trip on Friday was delayed two hours due to weather so that set my schedule moving people around back into the wee AM hours. Now recovering, I am waiting for the grass to dry out, to start mowing. That and the pool looks a nice shade of green that needs a nice shock treatment. Good thing with the rain, the weeds pop up out of the ground with ease.

No humidity today, so it will be a reclaim yard day after I say hello to god.

75 degrees and cloudy here right now. We had a light rain off and on last night and this morning I poured about 1.05" of rain out of the gauge. It's still cloudy with the NWS saying we have a 50% chance of more rain today. I'm just happy with what we've already gotten, but I sure wouldn't mind getting a little more.

The Texas Rangers had a 20 minute rain delay, or interruption. in their game last night, but then finished to beat the Houston Astros.

63.2F and clear, heading up to a high of 80F.

Got the engine on the 'bota washed off and got it moved up to the barn yesterday ... so that will be the first thing on the list this morning.

After that it was cleaning up the leftover small sticks from the big pile of dead branches that came down off the dying maple. Followed that up with raking the leaves off one side of the screened topsoil, so I can start digging into that once I'm done with the service of, and repairs to, the Kubota.

Then mowed the entire lawn on the east, west, and south sides of the house. Finished up with more raking and clean up of leaves on the south side of the polebarn, followed by cleaning the leaves and sticks off the slope on the north side of polebarn ... which is where the screened topsoil will be getting laid down.

Looks like toppop and I have swapped situations from a few weeks ago ... we're now really hurting for a good rain. Noticed that it's so dry that the ground is starting to crack in some spots ... mainly where there are trees and/or lots of sun exposure.

Glad that those that needed rain are getting it though.

The Perseid meteor shower will be at peak tonight.
Dang ... wish I had been paying closer attention ... it was clear as a bell last night ... :(
