Good evening all. 77F this morning, overcast, rain just to the north according to radar, but none fell today. Wind was a bit frisky this morning, but slowed down after an hour or so. Clouds cleared off and temp hit 97F. Started activity with bike ride, followed by 2 hours of consulting, finished by nap, and replace front fender so it won't rain on tomorrows ride ;):D

Anyway, we can now feel safe using glyphosate ......... safely.

Really?

This month a new and alarming study has been published in the journal Neurotoxicology and Teratology which supports the emerging connection between glyphosate, Roundup's active ingredient, and the emergence of neurodegenerative conditions including Parkinson's disease and Parkinsonian disorders.

My dad used Roundup a lot and his fields were sprayed. He has developed Parkinson's.

In other articles I have read 80% of late onset Parkinson's and neurodegenerative conditions are attributed to herbicides and pesticides.

I have been DNA tested and do not have the gene which is linked to Parkinson's which leads us to look closely at environmental causes.

up early, left leg still itching like mad from that bee sting, entire foot and ankle got puffy last night, then went down mostly.
what a nasty little bee...
My original family doctor in PA who delivered me died from three, just three yellow jacket stings. My epi pen was at the ready, but I only took one Q-dryl tablet last night, and
slowly all the excess fluid is taken off. I had to drop my best lopper right next to the nest; going to try to retrieve that this morning; hate to leave the tool out to rust in the rain.

lots of rain forecast for this weekend. That pile of brush to be chipped is going to have to sit there a while longer, not going to chip wet brush.

Toppop, slow and steady, you'll get there. Just look for silver linings where you can find them.

Have a nice weekend everyone.

Diesel fuel and dark/early morning is how I get rid of the ground Bee's. A little sprinkled on Loppers will help with the rust.

Need to pour first cup of coffee. 61° with overcast skies this morning. Heading to 75° with chance of rain in afternoon. Art show was good. Left by 2:00pm. Good timing. Couple of thunderstorms dumped a lot of rain on the event shortly after we left. Not much planned for today. Sit back and enjoy friends visit.
Good Morning All.

thanks Ron
I should get a move on then and go get it now.
we used to do the same with gasoline as kids. Open areas, we knew it would catch on fire.
Wump
how we survived the dumb things we did
I think these huge loppers are Gardena, they'd better not rust after one rain, but we'll see.
Just not itching, pun intended, to get near that area until this swelling goes down.
If I get stung again it might not be a linear reaction.
maybe tomorrow...

Drew, thanks for the calming.

5.34" of rain since midnight, that makes 1 1/2 feet since early July, 5 miles away there's a minor drought. Nature is a strange lady.

well that rain is about to hit here, pretty dark grey out.
headed to the barn to work inside, just got urgent email from Amazon telling me NOT to use the eclipse glasses I had purchased through them, despite a zillion positive ratings, that maybe their CE rating was just fictitious, they had sold something with CE on it and I bet it was fake.
CE and ISO label, and second label used the word certified. Oh oh.
so who to trust....

Using it safely doesn't mean drinking it or breathing it! I thought the article would be of interest to a few of us. Never mind!

Good morning! It did not cool off much last night - still 78˚heading for a week of 100s.

I'm still sore from the flash mow at Parents. It usually took them 2-3 days to do the yard but with the "Z" I finished it in 5 hours which included weed eating, edging, blowing and cleaning up the front entrance.

On the way home I lost the a self propelled lever on the snapper. The $11 lever required 3 other pieces to mount then shipping and tax it quickly went to $30. Now that I order it I'll probably find it on the road.

The heat made the glue on my "Ford" emblem on the tailgate fall off so now I'm keeping my eye open for two things.

Drew do you chip your wood before you burn it?
Sounds like there will be a last minute rush on American made eclipse glasses.

Good morning all, Spent the day yesterday working on the pool. Have a fine crop of mustard algae but the wife does not seam to like it. Put 7 lbs of shock in wed and thursday test says no chlorine in the pool. I guess the algae ate it. My fantasy of the pool and a mini ex keep coming to mind.
68 going to 82 with an 80% chance of T storms this afternoon so I guess I need to get the pool scrubbed before then.

Randy, Rome was not built in a day, take it easy, you will get there.

Don, We always looked at how dark the yellow spot on the bottom was. Darker yellow means ripe.

Have a great day all. Ed

Adds new meaning to the saying Found on road dead, or in this case maybe not found.:D Hope you find them both. Ed

A few years ago I used my auto darkening welding helmet to safely view a full solar eclipse. I think I shared the images here if you wanna dig 'em up. Worked well, but be advised that the size of what you're viewing is very small, about the size of a BB, and the image was green. :2cents:

Here's a pretty good article on photographing the eclipse:

How to Photograph a Solar Eclipse | B&H Explora

FWIW, B&H Photo has some of the best prices around, and unlike many east coast electronics retailers, is a legitimate business.

And no, I don't intend to chase totality. BTDT. Here we'll see something like 80%, close enough for me:laughing:
