Drew. I'm about 15 miles north of the green line on that map. Areas around Hoptown (Hopkinsville) and Russellville. Are advertising that it's going to bring in visitors by the hundred thousands. Current estimates are 300k people to areas that have more livestock than humans. Citizens are already being told to make alternative travel plans or to stay put that day. Infrastructure isn't there for that many folks.

Back in the spring I got stuck on the parkway (4 lane limited access hwy just under interstate standards) here because a triaxle load of sand did just that. Dropped off shoulder into median at 70-75. Speed limit 70 even for trucks. We use it as a short cut to town. Dumped 25 tons of sand onto roadway but he landed on passenger side and facing opposite direction. Driver was walking around once we got through no ambulance ever showed.

Good evening all. 78F for the start, cloudier than yesterday, wind about the same. Temp warmed to 97F, another day of HI above 100. Got bike ride in before the worst of the heat, and did string trimmer today. Spent most of the afternoon trying to rehydrate after spending the morning sweating.

Good morning all. Quite a few places in this little country got whacked by thunderstorms yesterday, although for us, despite the forecasters dire warnings of impending doom heading our way, not a flash, boom, rumble or even a single drop of rain. A pity really as I would have appreciated a little help from nature in removing all the white poop that swallows had deposited all over my once black car. I am convinced they use it for target practice.

Poured first cup of coffee. 64° with cloudy skies. Heading to 87° with thunderstorms late afternoon. Down to last section of pole barn roof. Should get that done today. Grandson is going to spend a few days with us. His Mother drops him off on her way to work. Should get some projects completed. But they will have to be mostly inside or close to cover projects. Forecast is for thunderstorms/rain until next Tuesday.

Good morning! 72˚ only getting to 96˚ with a heat index of 102, a normal summer day. I'll have to choose between sharpening the blades on the mower, weed eating the front fence and cutting off dead tree branches with limb saw during my cool morning work session.

Interesting to see a little patch of fog climb the hill from the creek and sweep over the yard this morning...usually only does this after a rain, but only dew again last night. Radar showed spotty storms again, but our welcome mat just isn't big enough, I guess.

So another climb from 66 to 94...fingers crossed for our turn for a shower tonight.

The dentist crowned me yesterday...put the permanent crown on my molar...then she called me royalty. Was in the chair at 8:30, and out at 8:42...that's how I like a dentist appointment to go...then at the gym 5 minutes later. I got a 10% discount...thought it was because I am now royalty...but only because I was willing to mail them a check rather than use plastic.

Debating what to tackle today. Don's idea of starting early on weed eating is winning...I've got a few tough brushy areas I need to cut before I take the blade off.

Ed, I saw an article yesterday about how Waynesboro built a 10 acre wetland to handle stormwater runoff to annually filter 2,000 lbs of nitrogen and phosphorus out of the South River/Shenandoah River. Used a state DEQ grant. Photo looks pretty neat.

Good Morning All. 64 this morning going to 91 with a 20% chance of thunder storms. Mowed yesterday and weedeated, hot but not bad. Wife got her spinning wheel and is now looking for some wool. Hope to get to making the stitching pony today, we will see. My wife is also changing her rug loom over to continuous warp. It takes a long time to warp a loom and this would cut out that step. I need to turn a new roller for it and a friend has a lathe that is big enough to turn it. It is almost 4' long.

Buckeye, Strange to say but I built the shop, insulated it and wired it with 100 amp service and felt like God was telling me to stop and wait, so I did. The only thing I have left to do to the shop is put in the mini split.

Wngsprd, News to me, I don't watch the news and did not hear about it. It must be part of the park they are building along the river.

72 this morning and headed to 90 today. Heat index back above 100 again today. Did get a small shower yesterday afternoon with a 10% chance of rain today is 20%. Lots of second cut hay down around.

Helper is supposed to be here today, so am going to try to get upstairs door built and hung on building. Then I think I'll measure and maybe order the insulation for it.


Those of you with air conditioned shops. What did you use for a/c? I'm looking at a floor unit that vents out a window, I put windows in that are a 1/2" too small for a window unit. It's just under 400 sqft.

You could have typed fast this morning I posted an hour earlier because Whipper was barking at something and I went outside in the dark to assist her. Never did fid out what creature loomed in the dark around the house that upset her.
