71 going to 91. The rain missed us yesterday. :(

So, more watering today. No sprinklers, because of well water, so carrying watering pitchers, which are nicely soothing to watch as many small streams of water cascade to the ground, each plant reacting differently as the water tickles its leaves. Nevermind, come on rain!

Put the blade on the string trimmer, and cut some saplings growing in a place along the creek that I want to keep clear... It was hot wearing long sleeves and heavy boots. I got a few sprays of mud in the face when I'd hit crawdad "castles" that I couldn't see because the grass and plants were so tall. Bush hogged a bit, too.

Those Tilleys sound nice.

Poured first cup of coffee. 57° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 84° with a few clouds. Nice relaxing day yesterday after finishing installing thermostat. Quick run to Menards for some more roof coating. Then get animal barn roof coated. Wife bought some Lillie's to replace some plants that did not come up in her flower garden. Need to get them in the ground today. Then it should be a good afternoon on back porch.
Eric, I have 2 Tilley hats. They will never wear out because I forget to put one on. They need to make a model that allow me to wear my hearing protection at same time.
Good Morning All.

 Jim, that was naughty miss-quote, you could get Phil into a whole load of trouble.

Nah. After 31 years she has it figured out. Plus she doesn't read my favorite tractor site.
Looks like it will be a nice day in the low 80's.

63 degrees right now...high about 80 and clear.

First chore (if you want to call it that) is to pick up a Ruger Vaquero from my FFL about 10 this morning.
Ruger Vaquero.jpg
I've always wanted one of these with the bird's head grips. They're easy to find in .45 Colt or .45ACP, not so easy to find in .38/.357 (which is what this one is).
I had sold two other Ruger SA revolvers as well as two other handguns over the last week or so. This one replaces another Vaquero that wasn't stainless steel and didn't have bird's head grips.

After all the rain we've had over the last several days, I need to do some trimming...so that's the other chore. If it dries up enough, I'll mow the back yard.

If there's enough time after the "real" chores, I'll put a few rounds through the Ruger

Quite the change from the last two mornings. The low this morning was 50* going to the mid 80's with party cloudy skies. The high was 84* yesterday.

One of my neighbors has asked me to work on a buck and pole fence to keep her horses from running off. Do that this morning then back to working on the house.

Hope everyone has a nice day

Went for a walk this morning while it was just a little miserably hot and humid. One of our outdoor cats, Smokey goes with me, talking the whole time, sweet little kitty. Too dry to mow, a bunch of rain went all around us last night, none here.

Good Morning!!!! 77F @ 7:45AM. Abundant sunshine. High near 95F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

HondaGS.jpg

Got the tires changed on the Trail 90 yesterday, as well as mounting the new mirrors and a bunch of other little, mostly cosmetic, parts. Was going to change sprocket and chain while the rear wheel was off, but learned that the subtransmission had to come off to reach the countershaft sprocket, and that required replacing a few seals I didn't have. So that'll be put off for another day. By the time all that was done, cherry picking time was long passed, and I don't believe the orchard is open on Sundays. Maybe I'll get to that next week. Probably for the better, as there's no good way to carry anything on the Honda just yet anyway. I have an old tail trunk in the trailer I'm thinking about mounting on the rear rack, so maybe I'll take a look at that today.

Mainly I want to finish up with the van's dash today, which means covering the instrument naucelles with vinyl and adding a wood grain laiminate strip across the front. That'll probably take up most of the cooler hours of this morning, so that may be all that happens.

To get anything done means moving two other motorcycles around, and for tire mounting, rigging the air line out one door and back in the other. That left the old GS outside for a bit, and after a test ride up and down the driveway, that's naturally where the Honda ended up. A picture seemed in order, but it shows an alarming trend toward downsizing, one I wonder when will reach the vehicle I drive and house I live in. Hopefully not soon.

Hope everyone manages to stay cool this Sunday. We're just starting the first of the three hottest months of the year, and it's already sizzling...

71°F and .13 inches rain

Nice family time yesterday. My repaired Primo Grill worked great. Really like the new DigiQ controller I added. Sure, the Purists out there might give me some grief, but I like the control. Judging by the paucity of leftovers I'm guessing everyone liked the food.
Kekoa did good in school yesterday, but not until he got his head into it which wasn't until late in the class. I think most of the Puppy Class grads were disappointed they weren't allowed to socialize like last class.
Another relaxed day ahead.

Be safe
Have a great day
